My Seven Wives in One Body and Me, her Manager-Chapter 74: Morning Confrontation
Seeing Bella ignore her, Daisy flew into a rage and shoved Bella back with a furious look on her face. Bella immediately glared at Daisy and gripped the hilt of her katana; Daisy did the same, clutching her own hilt and preparing to strike the girl in front of her. All the students watching focused on them, aiming their smartphone cameras to record what was about to happen. Seeing that Daisy was dead serious, Dennis placed his hand on her shoulder from behind, then stared at Bella.
"Leave. You and I have nothing to talk about," Dennis said firmly.
"What? Did you forget? I’ve always been there for you, and now that it’s my turn to need help, you turn your face away from me? What kind of childhood friend are you!" Bella screamed, tears streaming down her face along with her mascara.
Dennis remained silent and didn’t respond. He knew exactly that Bella had only been there for him to use him. Since they were kids, Bella—who was adopted by his neighbors—always played at his house because she wanted to read his comics, get invited to eat by his parents, and take whatever else she could squeeze out of Dennis. Even though her adoptive parents were very kind and pampered her, if Dennis ever protested or got angry with Bella, her parents would definitely make a scene and talk to Dennis’s parents, blaming him. In the end, it was Dennis who would be punished by his parents and told to always give in.
Suddenly, Brad approached Bella and pulled her, forcing Bella to turn around and look at Brad beside her.
"Ask Dennis! I have nothing to do with Silas, that cousin of yours!" Bella screamed.
"I don’t care. There is nothing between us anymore. Please leave and never come back again," Brad replied in a voice that was calm, yet heavy and cold.
"You’ve got it all wrong! I never cheated on you! I divorced you because we just weren’t compatible anymore, you’re overreacting, you know!" Bella yelled back.
"The evidence is already there. Please leave immediately, or I’ll call security to get rid of you," Brad replied calmly and coldly.
Bella fell silent for a moment, observing Brad’s expressionless face, but suddenly the smartphone in her hand rang. Everyone, including Dennis and Daisy, could see Silas’s name appear on the screen. Bella immediately rejected the call and looked back at Brad.
"You’re the one who ruined Silas’s life! You sent all those false files to his wife... you destroyed a family, don’t you know? He told me everything because I’m also his friend and I’m supporting him at a time like this!" Bella screamed.
Brad simply remained silent and said nothing. He took out his smartphone and showed the PDF file that Daisy had sent yesterday to Bella, regarding how many people Silas was actually dating while cheating on his wife. Seeing that file, Bella’s face—which was initially angry despite her crying—instantly turned pale, and her tears abruptly stopped. She tried to grab Brad’s smartphone, but Brad stepped back. Then, Brad scrolled through the screen to show the entire file, displaying everyone who had been Silas’s mistresses besides herself.
"That’s impossible," Bella said, trembling.
"Of course it’s possible. Today I plan to meet Sister Sarah to give her this final file. She needs to know what kind of man her husband really is. You aren’t special to him, Bella, so you’d better leave now before I call security," Brad said casually, but cold and expressionless.
Bella immediately fell silent. She turned to look at Dennis, then Daisy, and she even turned to look at Naomi and Blake, who had been quiet from the start. She realized she was alone and no one was supporting her, plus so many people were watching and even recording her. Then, without another word, Bella turned around and immediately walked away, leaving Brad. The crowd dispersed instantly, though whispers could still be heard. Then Brad turned to look at Dennis, Daisy, Naomi, and Blake.
"Sorry, I didn’t mean to bring my problems out in public," Brad said.
"Relax, it’s fine," Dennis replied calmly, though his face remained expressionless.
"Have you confronted Silas?" Daisy asked curiously.
"No. He didn’t want to come to the family meeting because there was an event at his office and he was going to take his family there, so... I sent all the files you gave me yesterday to his wife. It seems... his wife confronted Silas immediately, and of course, Silas confronted Bella, which is what brought her here today," Brad answered.
"Hmm, so that’s how it is. Good," Daisy replied.
"After school, I plan to meet his wife again and give her the file from just now after I print it for her, to support her divorce process. This file will truly be the final nail in his coffin; his wife will get custody of their two children, the house, and even alimony and child support," Brad replied.
"Okay, go ahead and use the file," Daisy replied casually and gave a thumbs up.
"Alright, thank you once again," Brad replied. Then Brad turned to look at Naomi and Blake. "Sorry about that, you guys ended up witnessing a drama first thing in the morning," Brad said to the two of them.
"Relax, bro. It was decent morning entertainment," Blake replied casually.
"But are you really okay? A few days ago, you looked like you had no will to live in class," Naomi added.
"I’m fine. Actually, I’m good now," Brad replied briefly with a faint smile.
"Good to hear. Don’t stress over a crazy girl like her, okay bro," Blake said, patting Brad on the back.
"Yeah, I know. Alright then, I’m heading in first; Ivan and the others are waiting for me," Brad said.
"Got it, go ahead," Blake replied.
Brad said his goodbyes once more to everyone, then turned and ran toward the school gate to head inside. Naomi and Blake also said goodbye to Dennis and Daisy to head in first. The two of them stood still, watching the backs of Naomi and Blake as they walked hand-in-hand toward the school gate. Then, Dennis turned to look at Daisy.
"Are you okay?" Dennis asked.
"I’m fine... I should be the one asking, are you okay?" Daisy asked back.
"I’m great," Dennis answered briefly while smiling.
"Good. Let’s go inside," Daisy invited.
The two of them began walking again toward the school gate. Dennis was getting sleepy again because he felt relieved and released from the tension. He yawned again while walking hand-in-hand with Daisy beside him. Suddenly, a blurred vision flashed through his mind as he drifted into a heavy daze.

"Bzzzzzz,"
"Klang... klang," a four-year-old Dennis, still very small, was handcuffed and dragged into a basement. He was thrown into a dark and damp cell, all alone. Dennis could only stay quiet and cry.
"Papa... mama... where are you... I want to go home," he said while sobbing.
"Shut up and don’t be noisy, you aren’t going home again," shouted a scary-looking man while hitting Dennis’s head with a stick.
"Please... don’t... it hurts... please," Dennis screamed while crying.
"I told you to be quiet, so be quiet! Don’t be noisy," the man screamed while continuing to beat Dennis.
"Please... please... please," Dennis eventually passed out with a bleeding head.
The man stopped his beating, his face suddenly full of fear because he would definitely be scolded by his boss if the boy died. He immediately crouched down to check on Dennis, and upon finding that Dennis was still alive, he left the crying boy alone. A few days later, a scary-looking man wearing a dress shirt came down to the basement; he pulled up a chair and sat in front of the bars while looking at Dennis, who was huddled in the corner of the cell.
"Hey, you know what? It looks like your dad and mom don’t want to ransom you. It’s been almost a week with no answer from them. I’m going to lose money like this. From now on, you aren’t getting any food and don’t hope you can get out of here. I just hope there’s a fence who wants to buy an ugly, cross-eyed kid like you to cover your costs here," the scary-looking man said while snickering.
Dennis couldn’t answer; his face was covered in welts from being beaten every day. A month passed, and Dennis had grown even thinner; he was only given water and bread twice a day. For the rest, he scavenged on the floor and ate whatever was inside the cell. Sometimes a guard felt pity seeing him and threw a chicken bone into the cell; he would eat it immediately without waiting.
"Bzzzzzz,"

"Honey... honey,"
Dennis opened his eyes. He was startled to see Daisy’s anxious face right in front of him. Then he felt his back against the ground, realizing he was lying down. He looked to the right and left, seeing the legs of many people crowding around him; it turned out he was lying on the walkway leading to the school building. Then he got up and sat down. Daisy immediately hugged him.
"Huh... what happened to me?" Dennis asked, confused.
"If you’re this sleepy, you shouldn’t have come to school. You suddenly collapsed, you know? I was so scared! If something happens to you, what will happen to me?" Daisy answered in a panic.
"Oh... I see... sorry honey," Dennis replied, hugging Daisy.
Daisy nodded, then started rambling and invited Dennis to the infirmary while helping him stand up. Then Daisy pulled Dennis’s hand, while Dennis remained stunned, remembering what he had just "dreamed" about.
"What was that just now? My memory?" Dennis asked in his heart, feeling confused.
