My Tribrid System: More than a Monster-Chapter 97: Send you to the Aspirant Corps
Chapter 95
With one swift push off the ground, the militants lunged forward at incredible speed.
Their movements were not too overwhelmingly fast, but they certainly weren’t slow either.
Within mere seconds, they appeared directly in front of Felix.
Fists shot toward his face in a synchronized blur, but with a casual, practiced leap backward, he evaded them all too easily.
The moment his feet touched the pavement, one of the men bolted forward, nearly catching him off guard with a low, sweeping kick.
Pushing off with his heels, Felix dodged the strike and was about to initiate a counterattack when a second militant gave chase in the air with a forceful pushing kick.
Felix blocked the blow with his forearms, the momentum shoving him toward the ground, though he managed to land smoothly on his feet.
The moment he stabilized, the third man was already there.
The heavy butt of a rifle swung toward the kid’s head with lethal intent.
Bending down in a sharp crouch, Felix evaded the weapon by a wide margin.
His own fist whipped through the air in a counter-strike, smashing into the man’s side with the concentrated force of a raging bull.
"Ack..."
Saliva burst from the man’s mouth as he staggered backward, his face contorting in excruciating pain.
’How can a kid hit this hard?’ the man wondered, clutching his ribs.
Swooosh—!
Felix quickly spun around, throwing his forearms out in a defensive cross.
Bam—!
The butt of another shotgun smashed into his forearms with immense force.
However, the moment it made contact with his skin, the reinforced stock splintered like dry wood.
The assailant’s eyes widened in pure shock as he stared at the wreckage in his hands, watching high-durability parts of the weapon fly through the air.
Felix leaped away from the man, instantly creating a distance of two meters between them.
’Fuck, that actually stung a bit.’
"Guys! Seems like this kid is definitely not normal."
"Could be a meta-human," another grunted, repositioning himself.
"Fuck. That means we need to take this much more seriously."
’Huh?’
Crack, Crack—!
Felix’s ears perked up at the distinct sound of a slide racking.
He quickly turned his head just as...
Pow—!
A bullet tore toward him at lightning speed, whistling through the air.
’Who the hell shoots at a kid?!’ he thought, his temper rising.
Still, the kid dug his feet into the pavement, the concrete immediately splintering into a web of cracks under the pressure.
Bang!
He exploded into the air, dodging the projectile which smashed harmlessly into a brick wall behind him.
While mid-air, he heard the metallic cock of a gun again, and a second bullet was sent screaming his way.
With a powerful, physics-defying kick against the air itself, he darted to the side, narrowly avoiding the lead.
"What kind of a meta-human is this?!" one of the men yelled in disbelief.
Bang—!
Felix gave the air one final, explosive kick as he shot downward with incredible velocity, appearing directly in front of the militant who had just cocked his weapon.
Now at point-blank range, the man desperately pulled the trigger.
But his hand was grabbed and shoved upward, causing the bullet to miss and fly into the sky before he was dealt a crushing, localized blow to his abdomen.
"Gah..."
Saliva shot from his mouth as his eyes rolled into the back of his head.
Thud!
The man crumpled onto the ground like a pile of folded laundry, completely unconscious.
Crack, Crack!
Pow!
Felix blitzed to the side, the next bullet grazing the air where his shoulder had been a millisecond prior.
Before he knew it, more and more rounds were being discharged his way, but he kept moving akin to a blur, dodging each and every one of them with predatory grace.
Suddenly, he appeared before the militant whose gun he had shattered earlier.
A sweeping kick smashed into the man’s groin area, causing his pupils to dilate in immense, sickening pain.
Then, another kick crashed into his jaw, lifting him off the ground and sending him flying into a nearby wall, where he slid off into a heap, senseless.
’Shit! This is now way beyond me,’ the final standing militant realized, his hands trembling as he reached for his collar.
Beep!
"Requesting immediate backup from all squads in the area! Target is a high-level meta-human! I repeat: he is a me—"
Woosh—!
Felix moved like a blur, appearing before the final man in an instant.
He reached out and grabbed the militant’s wrist exactly where his communication watch lay.
With a sharp, cold motion, he twisted it roughly, causing the man to scream loudly into the evening air.
"With how Grandpa spoke about humans, I thought you all must have evolved significantly. I guess you are still as weak as Father says you are. Tsk. Pathetic."
Wam—!
A localized kick from Felix sent the man crumpling, his body skipping across the pavement like a broken doll before coming to a halt.
Spitting toward the ground, the boy quickly began straightening his hair.
Even though every strand remained as perfectly placed as could be, he worked on it meticulously, as if he were obsessed with some imaginary loose hair.
A few seconds later, he was satisfied.
He adjusted the straps of his backpack and smoothed his clothes out before flashing a confident grin into the air.
’They almost ruined my mood for absolutely nothing. So yeah, let’s go and see what else the human world has in store for me,’ he beamed excitedly, his previous annoyance replaced by a fresh surge of adrenaline.
He began walking toward the exit of the alleyway, a visible hop in his step.
He gripped the straps of his bag tight, leaving the three unconscious men in his wake as if they were mere litter.
He had just taken a single step out of the shadows and onto the main sidewalk when...
"Impressive. Taking out three trained militants on your own? Wonderful." 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
Felix’s eyes flashed a different, predatory shade for a fleeting moment as every hair on his body rose in an instant.
He didn’t need anyone to warn him; his instincts screamed that whoever had just appeared was on an entirely different level than the men he had just dismantled.
He wasted no time, immediately initiating an attack.
He swung his fist in a wide arc from the side, aiming for the newcomer’s head, but unfortunately, he hit nothing but empty air.
Then...
Wooosh—!
Bam—!
A massive current of wind smashed into his face with the concentrated force of two grown men, causing his head to snap to the side.
"Unfortunately for you, I was already in the area when the call was made," the stranger’s voice drifted through the air, cool and collected.
’Damn it! Why can’t I seem to sense or track his movements properly? It’s as if he is a ghost or something!’ Felix thought, his panic beginning to rise.
Felix lifted his foot, about to dash forward in a desperate retreat when—
"Argh!"
He glanced down at his legs to see several precise, shallow cuts blooming across his skin.
Blood splattered into the air, the sudden loss of balance causing him to crash head-first into the grimy ground.
Then, the sound of slow, deliberate footsteps approached.
Tak. Tak. Tak.
"Humph. Thought they said you were some powerful meta-human. Well, it doesn’t really matter though," the man remarked.
He crouched down in front of Felix, a dark grin flashing momentarily.
For some reason, the man’s face remained largely hidden behind a strange, tactical scarf.
"... Oh well. The same place you were avoiding and didn’t want to go? You will have to go there now. Time to send you straight to the Aspirant Corps."
WAM!
Something heavy and blunt smashed into Felix’s face.
The impact instantly caused his vision to swim as he began to lose consciousness, but one final, bitter thought lingered in his fading mind.
’I wish I had gone all out from the start.’
Then, all the lights went out in his world.
