Everything had been set up so the group was ready to move, even though they had suffered a loss, they were trying to go with the flow of the situation, ready to head to the Garden and deal with whatever would be inside.

Yet Kim had brought up not a small allegation, but a particularly big allegation.

"Wait, someone betrayed us?" a hunter asked. "What, so is there someone working with the Lupus group, maybe one of our connections?"

"No," another Altered brought up. "If they've decided to bring it up now before we're heading to the Garden, it's just as she said—it's one among us."

The hunters were thinking back to their situation on how they had been attacked. All of it felt a little strange to them.

They were starting to piece things together, and in their mind, it would have only made sense if someone had informed them of what they were doing.

A break and friction was beginning to be seen among the hunters as everyone was giving each other the side-eye.

Many of them had almost lost their lives, and to think that the person responsible could be here in front of them.

"Was it you two!" a hunter shouted at the two who were left behind to look after the trucks. "You didn't enter the hotels with us. You were safe and sound right here—it's got to be you two."

The hunters went to draw a blade from behind their shirts, but the moment they went to pull it out, Trixie kicked them on the shin.

"No one is drawing weapons on one another here and right now!" Trixie shouted. "We've all been through a lot, and besides, I was the one that selected the two of them to guard the trucks, and it was completely random. Unless you want to accuse me of being a traitor as well."

The group—no one there would dare to suspect a five-star hunter. All of them would have been at the organization near the beginning to be able to gather so many stars, and how could they have killed so many Altered and still be working with them? It just didn't make sense in their minds.

"If you ask me, the person who has brought this up is the most suspicious, almost as if they're trying to tear us apart," Trixie added, looking at Kim.

Her demeanor when being suspected didn't change in the slightest; she didn't look worried at all and was also a high member in the organization.

"It's definitely not Kim!" one of the hunters who were with her shouted. "She fought with her life to protect us."

"Right, it just doesn't make any sense as well. The moment we got in our hotel room, they attacked us. We didn't ask questions or make our presence known like you told us, and they appeared within moments of us getting there."

The experience for the other groups wasn't the same, but hearing what they had been through, they understood more why they could be so suspicious.

'I can't say anything,' Kai thought. 'The longer I've been around these hunters, even I can tell there's a slightly different smell compared to others. I don't know if it's the weapons or the armor, but I know Olivia has an even better nose than me. She would be able to tell them apart, so it was no wonder they got to their room so quick. Besides, they were traveling with Kim, who stinks!'

"Right, and I believe everyone did their best and fought as hard as they could," Trixie added. "Which is why if you're saying these words now, it must mean you have some type of evidence rather than just a baseless hunch. I would think you wouldn't be so foolish to just bring this up with no evidence."

The hunters were worried. The two top hunters in their group looked like they might go at each other at any moment, and what did this mean for the mission?

"Think about it." Kim tapped the side of her head. "Out of everyone you traveled with, was there someone that stood out?

"That excelled in strength, speed, and skill. Sure, there are a lot of hunters that are like that out there, but let's dive into this further.

"Are there any that have low-level equipment, that joined us recently, that we don't even have the full scope of trust that we do with the others?

"If there was someone that strong, wouldn't we start to think that they might not be like us?"

Immediately there was someone that came straight to Trixie's mind. At the time, she was just impressed. In the moment, she thought she was just with another hunter.

However, they didn't have high-level beast gear. They weren't with the group for a long time, and if there was a small chance, a chance that all of this could be one big trap.

"I thought this way from the beginning, and as the person closest to them, I wouldn't say this with any baseless accusations, but why do you think I suggested the two of you team up? I wanted to see what I saw," Kim answered.

Immediately Kai could feel the sound of his heartbeat. A person as careful as him—why hadn't he seen it before?

Why didn't he trust the weird feeling he could sense? Was it because of the meetings from before? Was it because he thought the only thing he had to worry about was Lupus and the Altered hunters?

Whatever it was, it didn't matter anymore because it became clear now, and through his disbelief, Kai couldn't help but let out his words.

"You set me up…" Kai said, looking directly at Kim.
