Chapter 234: Praise

The army of black onyx descended from the skies in an orderly manner. It was evident to anyone watching that these warriors were no mere mob but were an organized group of specialists trained in probably one thing: war.

Elian saw the various appearances and noticed the same principles he used in his own creations. They all prioritized practicality over aesthetics. None of the ships or beasts that arrived looked majestic. No. They looked like monsters that rose from the depths of hell.

And while their cheers alluded to their allegiance to Elian and Bianca, they were still strangers. Beings who had ’Son of Metal and Soul’ or ’Daughter of Metal and Soul’ were inherently linked to Elian. Elian, in particular, felt the existence of that Talent quite strongly.

Fluffy and Silent both had "Daughter of Metal and Soul." That was how Elian knew both were friendly, although he didn’t know who they were. The Talent itself was a declaration of allegiance to the Faction Elian created in universe #150.

"Elian..."

The Tyrant of Will squeezed Bianca’s hand to reassure her. Her fear and hesitation were understandable. They had just been told that the people who existed in this reality were not the same people they knew.

As much as Elian wanted to believe that the large army was comprised of his kin, in truth they were not. At least not entirely; while they all had the color of Living Metal, there were two Elian Reeds in this timeline.

The vast majority were not Weapons made by Elian and Bianca, meaning it was safe to assume that they were created by the Tyrant of the End.

GROOOOOOOANNNNN!

One of the large ships began to tilt; its massive frame created a dull groaning and cast such a large shadow it looked like an eclipse. Then all of a sudden, arms and legs sprouted outward from the main body.

"!!!"

Caught off guard, Elian quickly shielded Bianca with his body. Only for a familiar voice to rumble like thunder.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA! EVEN AFTER ALL THIS TIME, YOU REMAIN THE SAME, MY TYRANT!"

"This voice... isn’t that Woody?" Bianca chirped excitedly.

"HAHAHAHA! HOW NOSTALGIC! TO THINK SOMEONE WOULD STILL BE CALLING ME THAT! IT IS GOOD TO SEE YOU, MY ANCHOR!"

Elian allowed his body to relax upon the realization. The "ship" that tilted looked like one massive plank; it had thousands of structures on it that all folded inward. Its large, stump-like legs eventually crashed to the ground.

Woody raised one of his gigantic arms and crossed it over his chest. He then lowered his upper body and got on one knee like a knight before his lord. His immense size created a mountain that dwarfed the entire city.

Like Woody, the various beasts and flying insects all began descending beside Woody. Knowing that at least the Karnathian was on his side, Elian decided to give the ones who arrived the benefit of the doubt.

Although, even if they were all enemies, killing them all would not take much effort.

As a Divine being, he had that much leeway. Given that Elian could create metal from thin air, even the entire army in front of him could be killed in seconds.

Hmm, seems like I need to be careful of my pessimism.

Sigh, agreed. It is a good thing Woody is loud; otherwise, you might have killed them all the moment they looked at me funny, Bianca chastised telepathically. I know what you were thinking earlier; you even managed to find all their cores before they landed!

Elian shrugged, just as Bianca had said. At first, he assumed that this army was sent by the Tyrant of End to betray them. Although they shouted support for Bianca, Elian had already found and locked on to every soulgem of the coming army.

"HAIL TO THE TYRANT OF WILL AND THE ANCHOR OF HOPE! IT IS I WOODY! COMMANDER OF THE 2ND LEGION! WE HAVE COME TO JOIN YOUR GLORIOUS CRUSADE!"

Unaware of how close he had come to dying, Woody continued to roar like he was talking to someone over the moon. Anyone else would have gone deaf from the sheer volume of his voice.

"The 2nd Legion, huh? I’m surprised you still call yourself that in this reality. Shouldn’t you be the Karnathian Tyrant? What happened to you in the other universe?" Elian asked with curiosity.

"WE HAVE DONE AS YOU ASKED AND RETURNED AFTER THE DEADLINE! THE CRUCIBLE WAR FOR EARTH BEGAN! BUT WE FOUGHT HARD AND EVENTUALLY WON! AFTER A HUNDRED YEARS HAD PASSED, WE STOPPED DEFENDING AND ATTACKED."

Elian nodded in pride. Much like what Burny had mentioned, it seemed the four legions defended for a while before going on the offensive. Inwardly, Elian found their loyalty pleasing; it was not easy to follow orders for centuries without reward.

"Were you able to get your revenge in the end?"

Woody had joined with the goal of vengeance, and like any parent, Elian wanted to see the Karnathian Tyrant reach his goal.

"YES! WITH THE HELP OF THE OTHER THREE LEGIONS, WE CRUSHED THEM! BY THE TIME I MET MY RIVAL, IT FELT LIKE BEATING UP A TODDLER."

"I am so glad you got your revenge, Woody. I am proud of you."

Although she didn’t have a literal connection to the Weapons, like Elian, Bianca expressed her joy like a mother watching over her son.

Woody began to chuckle and quickly brought his two fists together. Smashing them together, a loud shockwave echoed outward.

"THANK YOU, MY ANCHOR! THIS WOODY HAS COME TO REPAY THE GRACE I RECEIVED. I HAVE BROUGHT WITH ME A DETACHMENT OF THE 2ND LEGION. WE ARE YOUR ESCORTS AS WE REJOIN THE MAIN ARMY! BLOOMS, GAMMA, COME OUT HERE!"

At Woody’s call, a gush of water appeared out of nowhere in front of Elian and Bianca. It solidified and formed a water elemental the color of onyx with a cobra’s head. Beside Gamma, a burst of light rippled, and a beautiful woman in a green gown appeared.

Both lowered their heads in respect while crossing their arms over their chests.

"We greet the Tyrant of Will and the Anchor of Hope. Glory be to the Weapons!"

Elian and Bianca could not help but look at Gamma and Blooms in awe. It felt like just yesterday that they had created the 2nd Legion and now the seeds they planted had grown enough to harvest.

Gamma was one of the named Naga from Ysh-Natul. She Who Blooms in the Summer, or Blooms for short, was a Karnathian Dryad who volunteered to become one of the Faction’s Psychomancer.

Back then, both of them were not really noteworthy individuals, but now? Both of them radiate power at the Low Twilight tier. While they were not on the same level as Woody, who was at Mid Twilight, it was a significant increase in combat ability.

Bianca, who grew joyful, quickly approached Blooms and had her stand up. After quickly inspecting her body, Bianca hugged her affectionately. A gesture that caught the Dryad off guard.

"BLOOMS! YOU’RE OKAY! THANK GOD!"

"Uhm. Yes, I am fine, my Anchor. It is also nice to see you."

Meanwhile, Elian simply raised his fist toward Gamma. The Naga understood and rapidly shifted his body to return Elian’s fist bump.

"I assumed you guys also got what you wanted in the other universe?"

"Yes, my Tyrant. After conquering Ysh-Natul, we fought and lived the rest of our lives as Weapons. Naga served as the backbone of the Weapons of Valestra. Only we are present in all four legions."

Gamma had always been a man of few words. But his pride at his race’s achievements, especially the last statement, was obvious. His boasts were punctuated by his makeshift tail slamming down on the ground energetically.

Pfft, he looks like a dog. No one would even believe these guys are Naga. I mean, Gamma looks like a genie made up of gasoline.

Ssh! Stop ruining the moment! I swear if you say something that makes Gamma sad, I will beat you up! Now, praise him! A lot!

Bianca’s overly doting statements made Elian grimace. While he did find the Weapon’s achievement impressive, he felt like giving too much praise cheapens the act of praise itself. It was like how events lose meaning because of participation trophies.

Why do I feel like you’re going to spoil our kids rotten?

So what if I do? I will just shoot everyone who has a problem with it! Gamma is one of our children! He is entitled to my love and affection! Now, praise him quickly!

Elian could feel himself groan from Bianca’s fussiness. But as he knew how good it was to have his efforts acknowledged, he didn’t mind it much this time around.

"I see. That’s great. Good job, my son. After this is all over, we will celebrate. Think of what you want; if it’s something I can do, I will reward you with it. Tell it to the rest of the legion commanders and officers."

Gamma made a goofy, flabbergasted face. As if Elian’s words caused the black elemental’s brain to short-circuit, he froze in place.

"Gamma?"

"AH! Sorry, my Tyrant! I was overwhelmed. Thank you! I will not waste this opportunity."

"Yeah, okay."

Elian turned to see Bianca brushing Bloom’s hair and showering her with compliments. The fact that the Dryad still became a Psychomancer while Bianca did not exist in this universe probably had its own story. But for now, that was not what was important.

The Tyrant of Will looked over the vast army that Woody called a ’detachment.’ There were enough members here to surpass several million. And if Woody was to be believed, this group only belonged to his Legion. Three other Legions of similar size existed.

"Woody, how large have our forces become?"

Abruptly, the Karnathian stood up and made a gigantic smile, "ENOUGH TO RAZE THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE IN A YEAR! AND THEY ONLY AWAIT FOR YOUR COMMAND!"
