My Wife is a Hidden Big Shot-Chapter 181 - 175: Traitors Must Be Pinned to the Ground and Savagely Thrashed
Yellow sand filled the sky, and footsteps crunched on the ground.
The scorching sun stretched the characters’ shadows long across the ground.
Master Rory, clad in an orange Boxer’s uniform, walked slowly.
The map was a desert with no cover whatsoever—just sand dunes as far as the eye could see. It was a simple, brutal environment. The two players should have been able to spot each other immediately, but Aurora Sinclair had circled several times without seeing West Peak’s last player, the Curse Master, Clarity.
The DAF fans in the audience were on the edge of their seats. From their bird’s-eye view, they could clearly see that the Curse Master had buried himself in the sand right at the start, planning to ambush Master Rory.
The Curse Master is a Control System class, usually playing a support role on a team. Its Attack Power is low, but it can inflict various curses and negative status effects on opponents.
West Peak’s Curse Master had an incredibly powerful attack called Heart-eating Worms. If it landed, it would slow the opponent’s speed by 80% and cause them to lose health continuously for 10 seconds. It was considered a fairly strong ultimate skill for a Curse Master.
However, this skill had a long cast time—about three minutes—so he had no choice but to hide and prepare to land a Deadly Strike on Master Rory.
Suddenly, a rustling sound grew closer. Master Rory leaped into the air just as a massive black hand erupted from the sand, lunging for her legs. She countered with a Flame Fist, blowing a hole straight through it.
Using that small opening, Master Rory jumped again and threw several more punches, completely shattering the black hand.
But the fans in the audience were still holding their breath; she had fallen right into the Curse Master’s trap.
Suddenly, a white figure leaped up behind Master Rory. A silver glint flashed in the sunlight, stabbing straight for her lower back.
If it connected, Master Rory would be crippled.
The fans in the audience held their breath. The commentator’s voice rose in pitch, "...Master Rory is in extreme danger! If Clarity’s attack lands, it’s over for her! The veteran’s experience is truly... HOLY S—, she dodged it! Master Rory actually dodged it—"
The commentator’s excited words were cut short by the sight of Clarity’s figure flying across the screen, causing him to curse out loud.
Master Rory had spun around in mid-air, and an instant later, Clarity went flying like a kite with a snapped string.
The turn of events was so fast that many people didn’t see what happened.
The commentator had the cameraman play back Master Rory’s incredible moment in 20x slow motion.
Clarity’s sharp blade scraped past Master Rory’s body, missing its mark. Immediately after, Master Rory turned and lifted her leg, driving her knee toward his face.
As Clarity was falling to the side, Master Rory bent her other leg and swiftly switched, viciously kicking him in the chest. A perfect counter-attack from the brink of defeat.
The entire sequence was as fluid as a real-life martial arts fight, leaving the audience exclaiming in disbelief.
How high would your APM have to be to control your character like that, dodging a Deadly Strike and even launching a counter-attack?
"It’s over... She got in close!" Chris Hugh, the player controlling the Curse Master, cried out in despair. He leaned back in his chair, completely giving up.
"I told you not to be so reckless—"
"How was I supposed to know she’d dodge my ambush? Her APM must have spiked to 600, right?"
On screen, Master Rory put on a solo performance, knocking Clarity airborne and finishing him off with a combo.
Chris Hugh couldn’t even bear to watch.
Todd Warren’s expression darkened instantly. He pressed his lips together and was silent for a moment. "For the upcoming team match, have you all memorized the strategy? Master Rory is their only melee class, so I’ll tie her down. The rest of you, go all out and take down their Healer."
Todd Warren cracked his knuckles, his eyes burning with a thirst for battle.
’The number one female boxer?’
’Then let’s see who the real king of melee is—the Berserker or the Boxer!’

After the solo matches, there was a fifteen-minute break. Both teams were in their respective glass booths, discussing strategy.
Outside, the commentators and analysts went back and forth, analyzing the current situation and speculating on the strategies the two teams might employ.
"Things are looking bad for West Peak right now. They’re down one point from the solo matches, so they’ll definitely try to score first in the team match to increase their chances of winning..."
"That’s right. Killing the enemy’s healer first is a classic strategy to quickly gain an advantage. I’m sure West Peak will target DAF’s Healer..."
Many fans in the audience were also analyzing the potential opening plays. Jean Quincy and Luna Jennings were both gaming novices and only vaguely understood the various analyses being offered by Zeke Quincy and Glenn Lockwood.
Glenn Lockwood had a mandatory class today and arrived a bit late. He missed the first four matches and only saw Master Rory combo Clarity to death at the end.
He was so shocked he yelled out, "Fucking awesome!"
"Master Rory is unbeatable in melee. To play it safe, West Peak will definitely team up to burst her down, then go for the Healer and the Poison Master..."
"Not necessarily. Master Rory is so strong, I think they’ll definitely kill the healer first and save Master Rory for last."
The two of them were at a deadlock, neither able to convince the other. Their arguing gave Jean Quincy a headache.
Finally, when the team match officially began, the two of them shut up.
The team match format was five players with one substitute. After a player died, the sixth would automatically enter the arena. Of course, active players could also freely swap with the substitute.
The match map was a battlefield of crumbling ruins. An ominous wind blew, the light was dim, and besides all the destroyed walls, the ground was littered with skeletal remains in armor. It looked something like an ancient battlefield.
In the center of the map was a large, ancient urban district with complex, maze-like terrain, perfect for ambushes and assassinations.
The two teams spawned on opposite sides of the map.
DAF’s five players split into three groups. The Divine Archer, Windwalker, and the Summoner, Void, took the bottom lane. The Boxer, Master Rory, went mid alone. The Poison Master, Joanna, and the Mage, Scrappy’s Tail, took the top lane. All three groups advanced toward the ancient district.
Surprisingly, they hadn’t brought their Healer into the match. Besides the Poison Master, every player on the field was an offensive class.
This lineup stunned all the players watching. The commentators and analysts, in particular, had just confidently finished their detailed analysis, only for it to turn into a massive, face-slapping moment.
Entering a match without a healer—what the hell kind of play was this?

The opposing West Peak team, however, did not split their forces. Instead, the Summoner, Stella Bell, controlled by Jonas Lawson, scouted ahead while the rest of the team advanced cautiously.
This type of terrain was highly advantageous for a Summoner, who could summon various Summoned Beasts to scout in different directions.
The distance between the two teams was closing. Suddenly, a Summoned Beast from the top lane sent an attack signal. A smile touched Jonas Lawson’s lips. "Contact."
West Peak’s Healer and Archery player quickly ran toward the site of the battle, while the remaining three continued forward.
At this moment, Master Rory was only two body-lengths away from the group of three. A wall blocked the line of sight, so neither side had spotted the other.
At the same time, the sounds of battle also erupted from the bottom lane. The Summoner, Stella Bell, and the giant meat-shield ran straight toward the noise, leaving only Todd Warren’s Berserker, Titus, behind.
Master Rory, who had been waiting just beyond the wall, immediately moved, following the two of them toward the sound.
She intercepted them halfway and initiated the attack.
The spectators were so shocked their eyeballs nearly popped out. Master Rory was calling out coordinates while simultaneously holding down both players.
A Summoner’s summon limit is five. To ease the pressure on Master Rory, the DAF members had been keeping the Summoned Beasts they encountered busy. As a result, when Master Rory arrived to strike, Stella Bell only had a single pet beast left for protection.
Everyone had guessed DAF would try to burst down the enemy Healer first. No one expected them to target the Summoner, Stella Bell.
Even with the giant acting as a meat shield, Master Rory continued to press forward relentlessly.
Titus, who arrived shortly after, was being suppressed by the Divine Archer, Windwalker. The giant was being swarmed by DAF’s Summoner, and Stella Bell was already tied up in close quarters by Master Rory.
Three of his Summoned Beasts had already been killed, but he couldn’t find an opening to summon new ones.
Consequently, his health plummeted until he was critical.
With a Left Hook from Master Rory, DAF claimed first blood, sending the fans in the audience into a frenzy.
"Fucking awesome! That’s how you treat a traitor! Grind his face into the dirt!"
"Damn right! So satisfying!"
The DAF fans had long been unhappy about Jonas Lawson transferring teams at such a sensitive time—just two weeks before the regular season.
Seeing him be the first one eliminated, they all cheered.
Jonas Lawson slammed his fist on the desk in anger and leaned back in his chair.
His eyes were glued to the grayed-out screen in front of him.
This was his first battle representing West Peak, yet he had been defeated in the team match by a rookie. It was an absolute humiliation. The West Peak fans would surely think he wasn’t skilled enough and was dragging down the team’s combat strength.
’I have to make up for this loss!’
"Captain, the Poison Master, Joanna, and Scrappy’s Tail have a critical weakness..."
