Chapter 202: Chapter 196: Morgan, I Can Change Color Too

The man’s name was Marshall Shaw, and he was the Chief Captain of the Criminal Investigation Division at the MAB Kingsford Central Bureau.

He had a round, cheerful face that was quite likable. Judging by his appearance, no one would ever guess he was the very same Chief Captain who struck fear into the hearts of Veridia’s criminals.

But right now, his back was already soaked with sweat.

’If I’d known the great Sunstone was here, you could have beaten me to death and I still wouldn’t have dared to come and disturb them this late.’

’That Kevin Whitlock is going to be the death of me.’

Flora Guthrie looked at him and pointed to the sofa. "Go on, ask."

Marshall Shaw wiped his forehead, walked over to the sofa, and sat down primly, pulling a small notebook from his coat.

He feigned courage and began asking questions, but he had already heard all the answers from Young Lord Morgan.

Just as he was resigning himself to failure and preparing to leave, the doorbell rang.

Melody Sinclair ran to the door and looked through the peephole. It was Alvin Morgan and Benjamin Morgan.

She immediately opened the door to let them in. Alvin Morgan’s expression was grim. After seeing the people in the room, he sneered, "What, you don’t trust me?"

As soon as Marshall Shaw saw Alvin Morgan, his heart seized. "Young Lord Morgan, I just have a few details to confirm with Miss Sinclair."

"What details?"

Marshall Shaw wiped the sweat from his forehead and glanced at Aurora Sinclair. ’Well, I’m a dead man either way. Might as well go all in!’

"Miss Sinclair’s timeline from last night."

Sure enough, as soon as he said it, the expressions of two people in the room changed completely.

Flora Guthrie slammed her teacup on the table, shot to her feet, and pointed a finger at his nose, roaring, "I was staying right here last night! My disciple was sleeping in the room next door! What else do you need to know?"

"Ma’am... please, calm down... I’m just confirming..." Marshall Shaw stammered, backing away in fright.

Alvin Morgan, unlike the agitated Flora Guthrie, asked calmly, "What does the white hair have to do with her?"

The moment she heard that, Flora Guthrie was suddenly in front of Marshall Shaw. She grabbed him by the collar and demanded furiously, "What white hair?"

Marshall Shaw replied, trembling, "At the scene... the suspect left behind a white hair. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have come to bother Miss Sinclair."

Flora Guthrie’s expression was grim. She slowly let him go and said in a low, heavy voice, "All of you, leave. It wasn’t her. She didn’t leave her room last night. I’m her alibi."

Marshall Shaw quickly cupped his fist to Flora Guthrie. "Apologies for the disturbance..."

"Watch your mouth!" Flora Guthrie added abruptly.

Marshall Shaw flinched, then quickly led his men out of the house.

After the MAB agents left, the living room suddenly felt much emptier. Flora Guthrie shot a look at Alvin Morgan and unceremoniously ordered him out. "What? Are you two planning to stay the night?"

Alvin Morgan gave her a nod, then turned to Aurora Sinclair, who was sitting on the sofa with her head down. "Get some rest," he said, before leaving the house with Benjamin Morgan.

The two of them didn’t leave the complex like the MAB agents had. Instead, they entered the house right next to Aurora Sinclair’s.

Flora Guthrie heard the neighboring door open and close, and she let out a cold laugh.

"Dawn Miles, I’m buying you girls a house tomorrow. You’re all moving out."

Outside the complex, Marshall Shaw stood by his car and chain-smoked four or five cigarettes before he finally managed to calm down.

"Chief Captain, who was that woman?"

It was the first time the young agent had seen his ever-brilliant and formidable Chief Captain—a man who wouldn’t flinch if a mountain fell on him—look so timid, so he asked out of curiosity.

But Marshall Shaw just glared at him, took a hard drag from his cigarette, then threw the butt to the ground and crushed it with his foot. "Stop prying," he snapped. "If you value your life."

The young agent flinched. Seeing that his chief captain was already in the car, he asked cautiously, "So... we’re just leaving?"

"What else can we do?"

"But Whitlock said that girl’s a suspect."

Marshall Shaw smacked him on the back of the head. "If she’s a suspect, why doesn’t he investigate her himself? He always dumps the dirty work on me..."

’Even if the killer really is that girl, so what?’

’As long as Sunstone has her back, who would dare touch her?’

Marshall Shaw recalled the first time he had ever seen Aurora Sinclair.

An involuntary shiver ran down his spine.

’No wonder Kevin Whitlock didn’t dare to come himself.’

「The White Residence.」

Kevin Whitlock was pacing restlessly, glancing at his phone every few seconds. When it finally rang, he swiped to answer instantly.

"What’s the situation?"

As he listened to the voice on the other end, Kevin Whitlock’s expression grew progressively darker.

"I understand. Keep a close eye on Aurora Sinclair, and don’t let the Morgans find out..."

After hanging up, Kevin Whitlock quickly opened his laptop and launched a program. He had just put on his headphones, preparing to listen in on something, when a loud BZZZZT— of static crackled in his ears, followed by a familiar voice.

"Kevin Whitlock, you’ve crossed the line."

"Al... Alvin Morgan..."

"Aurora’s hair changes color too, doesn’t it?"

Alvin Morgan stared at the man on his screen, his own eyes now pitch-black, concealing a terrifying storm within them.

After a long pause, Kevin Whitlock’s weary voice came through. "Alvin Morgan, I’m not trying to harm you. When she has an outburst, she becomes an uncontrollable monster. Only Sunstone has the power to restrain her..."

Alvin Morgan’s hand tightened abruptly. His voice was ice-cold. "Pull your men back."

"Alvin Morgan—"

With a crackle of static—the line went dead.

Alvin Morgan pinched the bridge of his nose as a message suddenly appeared on his phone.

[Aurora: Morgan, can you open the door?]

He immediately stood and went downstairs to open the door. There, under the cover of night, a petite figure was crouched at his doorstep like a cat.

"Come in, quickly..."

Aurora Sinclair turned to look at him. The pupils of her eyes had already faded to a lighter color.

"Morgan, my color changes too..."

Alvin Morgan froze for a second, then quickly knelt and pulled her into his arms, his gaze darkening. "Aurora, you don’t have to do this..."

Her body was trembling slightly, as if she were trying to suppress something.

"Am I a monster?"

"No—"

His firm voice carried a reassuring magic, and the overly active Power inside Aurora Sinclair seemed to quiet down a little.

Half an hour later, Aurora Sinclair’s pupils finally returned to normal. This time, she wasn’t as weak as before; she was just drenched in sweat, as if she had just climbed out of a pool.

"I brought it under control," Aurora Sinclair said, breathing heavily.

His heart aching for her, Alvin Morgan handed her a clean towel. "Don’t ever do that again."

"Okay..." Aurora Sinclair nodded.

Alvin Morgan poured her a glass of warm water and knelt in front of her. "Do you need a medicinal bath?"

Cradling the glass, Aurora Sinclair shook her head. She suddenly looked up at him. "Morgan, can I join your investigation?"

Alvin Morgan studied her for a moment. "Alright. Come with me."

On Saturday, *Star Challenge* began filming right on schedule.

This episode was being filmed in a place called Maple Leaf Valley, on the outskirts of Kingsford.

It was late autumn, and the mountainsides were covered in red maple leaves, looking as beautiful from a distance as an ink-wash painting.

"Whoa, this place is gorgeous!"

Leigh Miles and Luna Jennings quickly jumped out of the car and ran to the roadside, crying out in wonder. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂

Just then, a woman in a full denim outfit, wearing a baseball cap and a silver stud in her ear, walked over.

"There are even more beautiful spots here. Want to see them?"

When Jean Quincy saw who it was, her playful expression vanished. She began a formal introduction: "Everyone, let me introduce you. This is the Quincy Family’s..."

"I’m Jean’s cousin, Sharon Quincy. It’s great to meet you all." Sharon Quincy quickly cut Jean off, removing her cap to reveal a handsome, energetic face.

She had a neat, short haircut and a bright, forthright smile.

Melody Sinclair’s eyes narrowed slightly, and she led Titus Miles a few steps to the side.

"You must be my cousin Aurora, right? I’ve heard you’re incredibly skilled. How about we spar sometime?"

Sharon Quincy’s eyes lit up the moment she saw Aurora Sinclair. She quickly grabbed Aurora’s hand, her enthusiasm palpable.

When Aurora Sinclair saw who it was, a flicker of shock flashed through her eyes.

’This person is...’
