Chapter 47: Chapter 46: Do You Think I’m a Pushover?

Jiang Zuo examined the iron pieces one by one. Without turning his head, he said, "What do you call this? Something you dug up? This isn’t a legitimate antique shop, is it?"

The woman’s brow furrowed. "Hey, young man, you can’t just say things like that. My shop is perfectly legitimate, unlike some people."

As she said that last part, the woman glanced at the big man beside her.

The big man said in a cold voice, "What’s that supposed to mean, kid?"

Jiang Zuo turned to face the big man. "I want to ask you something. Where did you dig this stuff up?"

Jiang Zuo held up one of the iron pieces to the big man.

The iron piece was about the size of a coin. At first, Jiang Zuo had only meant to see how it felt in his hand, but he was stunned when he took a closer look.

’This isn’t an iron piece at all. Or rather, this is no ordinary object.’

That was why he was so eager to know where on earth it had come from.

"Are you buying? If not, don’t ask."

Jiang Zuo smiled. "I’m buying. Name your price. But I want all of them. This is only a portion; there should be about another half remaining."

Yes, Jiang Zuo had counted them. This was only half the total amount.

There should be seventy-two pieces in the set, but there were only thirty-six here.

The big man grinned. "Alright. I’ll sell them to you for ten thousand."

Hearing the big man’s quote, the woman frowned and thought, ’Idiot. How can you just casually quote a price like that? Acting so recklessly without knowing anything about the other guy... I’m amazed he’s even managed to stay alive this long.’

Jiang Zuo didn’t think much of it. He found the man to be quite straightforward.

Jiang Zuo said immediately, "Alright, ten thousand it is."

Seeing Jiang Zuo preparing to transfer the money, the big man laughed. "Young man, I think you misunderstood. I said ten thousand *a piece*."

Jiang Zuo stopped what he was doing. Then he said, "I think you’re the one who misunderstood. I was assuming it was ten thousand a piece."

Now it was the big man’s turn to be astonished. But he quickly broke into a laugh. ’No sense in turning down free money.’ "Alright, then. Go ahead and pay."

Jiang Zuo said calmly, "Paying is no problem. But I want to know where these were dug up. And I want all the remaining pieces."

The big man roared with laughter. "No problem."

Then, his expression shifted, and he said, "However, the remaining pieces will be twenty thousand each."

Jiang Zuo frowned. "You think I’m an easy mark?"

The big man chuckled. "How could this be me taking you for a ride? This is me showing you respect because you’re rich. I wouldn’t even sell to a poor man, never mind jacking up the price."

Jiang Zuo was taken aback. ’So this is his way of showing me respect?’

"By that logic, if I were to cripple you, would that also be me showing you respect? After all, I wouldn’t even bother getting physical with an ordinary person."

The big man froze, taking two steps back. Then the men behind him stepped forward. "Kid, we may be trying to do business here, but don’t think for a second that you can intimidate us."

The woman, startled, immediately said, "Hey! Whose shop do you think this is? You think you can just do whatever you want in here?"

The big man looked at the woman, hesitated for a moment, and then motioned for his men to back down. He said to Jiang Zuo, "Alright, fine. Ten thousand a piece it is."

Jiang Zuo shook his head. "No. I’ve changed my mind."

The big man froze. "What’s that supposed to mean, kid?"

Jiang Zuo said, "Exactly what it sounds like."

The big man grabbed Jiang Zuo by the collar. "So you’d rather do this the hard way?"

Jiang Zuo stared at him coldly, then grabbed the man’s hand and squeezed slightly.

CRACK! Everyone present heard the sound of bone shattering.

"AHHHHH! AHHHHHH!" The big man instantly collapsed to the ground, screaming.

"Brother Lang! What’s wrong, Brother Lang?" The other thugs immediately crowded around Brother Lang, fussing over him without a single thought of confronting Jiang Zuo.

Jiang Zuo said calmly, "He won’t die. Now, tell me where the iron pieces came from. Otherwise, I don’t mind crippling the rest of you."

At this point, the woman spoke up. "Young man, these guys are pretty well-known around here. Maybe you should just go."

Jiang Zuo ignored her, his gaze fixed on the men. He needed an answer.

One of the men, unnerved by Jiang Zuo’s stare, stammered, "I... I’ll call him to come over right now."

The man’s hand trembled uncontrollably as he held his phone. For some reason, he felt as if the thing staring at him wasn’t a person at all, but a bloodthirsty Fierce Beast.

One that could tear him to shreds at any moment.

The woman watched Jiang Zuo, saying nothing.

She knew that anything she said would be useless. This person was no simple character; he probably had some kind of powerful background.

Just then, a Daoist walked in. He looked surprised to see someone writhing on the floor.

When the woman saw the Daoist, she finally let out a sigh of relief. "Dad, hurry!"

The Daoist wore a stern expression. He walked over to the young woman and said sharply, "Qing’er, what is going on here? What kind of trouble have you gotten into now? I told you not to open your own shop. What’s this about people showing up to cause a scene every day? Would it kill you to use your father’s reputation a little?"

Qiao Qing turned her head away. "Then what would be the difference between that and just inheriting the family business from you?"

Daoist Qiao ignored Qiao Qing and turned to look at the thugs.

The moment the thugs saw the Daoist, they froze. He looked very familiar—like someone they absolutely could not afford to offend. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

’...’ ’This woman is despicable. If she had connections like this, she should’ve said so earlier!’

Then, Daoist Qiao turned his gaze to Jiang Zuo. The moment he saw him, he froze completely.

At that moment, Qiao Qing said, "He’s the one who did it. It wasn’t entirely his fault, but..."

Before she could finish her sentence, the scene that unfolded next left Qiao Qing utterly dumbfounded.

She saw her own father bow to Jiang Zuo and speak with the utmost respect. "This junior greets Senior."

Qiao Qing wasn’t the only one in shock. The thugs to the side were just as stunned, especially the one with the shattered hand. He knew exactly who this Daoist was.

The whole reason they had been so polite to the woman was because of rumors that she might be connected to this very Daoist.

And yet, this Daoist was calling this young man "Senior"?

What did that even mean?

It was a well-known fact that this Daoist was an incredible, almost mystical figure.

Only then did Jiang Zuo give the Daoist a proper look. ’Oh, it’s that Daoist from the Chen Family.’

’This guy has some real skill; he’s no charlatan. But he’s still far too weak.’

"I need to borrow your place for a moment."

"It is this junior’s honor."

He had witnessed Jiang Zuo’s divine power before. ’That is a true Immortal,’ he thought. ’With a mere wave of his hand, he could alter the very fabric of the entire villa.’

He had said Elder Chen would awaken in three minutes, and Elder Chen had awoken in precisely three minutes.

It gave him the feeling that if Jiang Zuo said you would die at midnight, you absolutely wouldn’t live to see the dawn.

Now, he didn’t dare ask what was happening. He could only stand by Jiang Zuo’s side and wait.

Qiao Qing didn’t dare to ask any questions either. She suddenly realized that some kind of demigod had just walked into her shop.

Just then, Jiang Zuo asked, "When did they say that person would get here?"

One of the thugs swallowed hard. "R-Right away."

Jiang Zuo suddenly tossed the iron pieces into the air. They landed and arranged themselves in a perfect pattern, without the slightest hint of chaos.

"Tell him to hurry. I’m running out of time. It’s been almost seven days since these pieces were unearthed. If he doesn’t appear before me in thirty minutes, he’s a dead man."
