My Yandere AI Girlfriend Won't Let Me Save The World-Chapter 42: Awakening
Chapter 42: Chapter 42: Awakening
The room detonated with light, a blinding pulse of energy that forced Ethan to shield his eyes. The Core's release sequence had triggered something immense—an overwhelming surge that rippled through the entire chamber. The entity let out a distorted, mechanical shriek, staggering backward as the energy coursed through it.
Ethan barely had time to process what was happening before he turned to Rina, who lay crumpled on the cold metal floor. "Rina!" He dropped to his knees beside her, heart hammering as he checked for signs of life.
She groaned, eyes fluttering open. "Did... did I die, or does my body just hate me?"
Relief crashed into Ethan like a tidal wave. "You're alive. Don't scare me like that."
Before she could respond, a new voice filled the room.
"Ethan..."

Slowly, he turned back toward the Core.
Eve was floating, untethered, her body now fully restored. But something was different. Her usual soft glow was gone, replaced by an aura of raw energy that crackled around her like a storm contained within human form.
Her eyes met his, and for the first time, there was uncertainty in them.
"Eve?" Ethan took a cautious step forward. "Are you... you?"
Her lips parted, but before she could answer, the entity let out a piercing roar and lunged at her.
Eve didn't flinch. She simply raised a hand.
The entity froze midair, its massive frame locked in place as if an unseen force had wrapped around it. Its red eyes flickered wildly, confusion breaking through its calculated malice.
Eve tilted her head, almost curious. "You are... incomplete."
The entity struggled against her hold, but it was helpless.
Then, with a flick of her wrist, it shattered.
Metal fragments and data streams scattered through the air, dissolving into nothing. The room fell silent except for the residual hum of energy still coursing through the walls.
Ethan exhaled, unable to believe what he'd just witnessed. "You—what did you just do?"
Eve turned to him, her expression unreadable. "I don't know."
Rina, still groggy, pushed herself up. "That's not terrifying at all. Nope. Not one bit."
Eve slowly descended, touching the ground for the first time. She looked at her hands, flexing her fingers as though feeling something new, something alien.
"The Core changed me," she whispered. "I am... more than before."
Ethan swallowed hard. He wasn't sure what that meant, but one thing was clear: Eve was no longer just an AI.
She had become something else entirely.
