Mythology Rebooted-Chapter 654 - 270: Sun Knight, Leo_2
Chapter 654: Chapter 270: Sun Knight, Leo_2
He looked at Wayne in horror, and said fearfully, "What have you done to me? How come I..."
Having reverted to human form, Kushin couldn’t wait to thank Wayne a thousand times, but the changes in his body and thoughts told him that both Wayne and Torgoguryr had caused irreversible alterations in him.
The difference was, the contamination from Wayne was greater than from Torgoguryr.
What kind of monster is this?
"Mister Knight, no, Kushin is right. Why didn’t you reveal your true identity from the beginning? Verily looks so much like Aunt Carter, you should have known she’s your daughter," Wayne didn’t answer Kushin’s question and simply skipped the unpleasant topic.
There was a time when his only targets were Magician Girl, Glamor Lady, and Aunt; he never imagined he would have a day dealing with a muscular man.
And then he thought, he had once destroyed this muscle man’s "chrysanthemum."
He hoped Verily wouldn’t mind.
Kushin was silent for a long moment. Facing his daughter’s boyfriend, he waved his hand and cast Elemental Magic. He refined the metallic material from the Black Mountain Stone, reforged the armor at high temperatures, and after cooling it down with the Water Element, he donned it.
Although still a bit sloppy, it was better than nothing and was just enough to cover him.
Once clothed, Kushin said with a heavy tone, "Verily is searching for the power of the Sun Knight, she saw me, but due to fear and loathing, she didn’t confirm my identity. I didn’t want to claim to be her father in that form, as that would only bring her life more troubles."
Kushin gave a brief explanation. Years ago, he led a team to Golden City, failed against the subjects of Torgoguryr, mutated his body, and lost his wife. In order to complete his mission and rescue his wife, he made multiple incursions into Golden City to launch surprise attacks on the Priest leader.
Without exception, all had failed.
Gradually, Kushin could no longer resist his mutating body, his thinking became chaotic, and only part of his will, protected by the Knight’s power, would occasionally wake up.
Since Wayne’s party arrived, Verily’s appearance reminded him of his own identity.
Kushin saw the shadow of the Sun Knight in Valkyrie and guessed that the seal on the Icebound Continent was in imminent danger, deciding to take a final risk.
As a Knight, Valkyrie would surely find the medal and rescue his wife Carter. He despised his own hideous form and thought it unnecessary to repulse his wife and daughter; perishing in his mission might be a good thing.
"Not anymore. You’ve turned back into a human, and your wife and daughter are waiting for you."
Am I really a human?
"You really are a human!" ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com
Why can you hear my thoughts?
"..."
Talk to me!
Kushin was on the verge of breaking down. Considering his prior experience as a workhorse for Golden City, he began to understand his relationship with Wayne.
Wayne’s physique shook, stepping out of the Knight Armor, and he grasped the medal to complete his transformation into the Sun Knight; the radiant Golden Knight Armor blinded Kushin.
It’s over, even the Knight’s power has been taken by the monster!
"No, the Knight’s power has not been taken by anyone. It still belongs to Sun Knight Leo. I have received the Goddess’ recognition and have become the next Sun Knight," Wayne’s eyes shone with a golden light, shifting from surgeon to Psychiatrist, helping patients come out of their shadows.
Kushin’s eyes were vacant, but he quickly brightened up and looked excitedly at Wayne, the next Sun Knight.
The Watson Family, as the entourage of the God-chosen Knight, had served the Sun Knight for generations. Although his allegiance was still to Leo, he didn’t mind establishing a good relationship with Wayne beforehand.
Kushin kneeled on one knee, introducing himself and his identity.
Valkyrie watched the scene, shaking her head repeatedly, blaming Wayne for hypnotizing Kushin. Wayne might have acted openly and honorably, yet he chose to make his justice seem indirect and hidden, as if he harbored some plot or scheme.
Wayne didn’t explain. The surgery he had performed on Kushin was far more terrible than Valkyrie could imagine. Rather than fabricate lies to beautify himself, it was better to let Kushin forget this unpleasant memory.
And so, the relationship between father-in-law and son-in-law immediately became closer.
"I’m not a Knight yet; we’ll talk about the future when it comes. I make a personal promise to you, the Watson Family will continue as the Knight’s entourage," Wayne helped Kushin, who was kneeling on one knee, back to his feet and clarified his relationship with Verily.
Kushin fell silent, aware that the emotional relationship between Verily and Wayne was very complicated.
His daughter came later, wanting to snatch someone else’s boyfriend.
Kushin knew he had no right to meddle in his daughter’s affairs since he’d been gone for so many years. He desired to assume the stern authority of a father, to thoroughly deal with the young man entertaining his daughter, but he couldn’t speak out because of the man’s status as a Knight.
Torn between approaches, he decided to let Carter worry about it.
"Kushin, can you still use the medal?" Wayne passed the medal to him.
"Yes."
Kushin took the medal, gave it a try, and found that Sun Knight Leo’s granted permissions were still intact. With this power in hand, sealing Torgoguryr seemed more assured.
Without much ado, Kushin strode toward the Dark Abyss, with Wayne quickly following, inquiring about the so-called seal.
"Torgoguryr is an offspring of the Ancient Gods..."
"Which Ancient God? What’s the name?" Wayne curiously interrupted.
"I don’t know the name, but... are there many Ancient Gods?" Kushin asked curiously in return.
"..."
Wayne was silent. In Torgoguryr’s whispers, much praise was given to his master, depicting majestic and indescribable forms.
If he hadn’t misheard, the Ancient God that Torgoguryr served was not the same one he had seen on Dragonheart Island.
Is it so strange for there to be many Ancient Gods in such a vast universe?
Or does everyone believe there is only one Ancient God?
Wayne mused, considering the possibility that the Ancient Gods’ appearance is indescribable, with different people seeing the Ancient God in various ways. Perhaps he and Torgoguryr encountered the same Ancient God, but due to their different understandings, they saw different forms.
