Naruto: Chronicles of a Fire Ninja-Chapter 391 - 386: Only Couple of Months?
Chapter 391 - 386: Only Couple of Months?
Kaida was sitting in his room, his mind going through various reports his shadow clones had gathered throughout the day. The construction of the stadium was in full swing, with 100-plus workers working in shifts to keep the work active for 24 hours, at a speed that would even put modern technology to shame.
With the addition of 10 chunin-level ninja, the work would be completed in 5 months—a very, very little time for a project of this scale.
Though with the latest changes, Kaida had gone through and added some more details and increased the size and looks of the stadium by one more stage, with the addition of various new technologies to add large screens all around the stadium for everyone to have a clear view of the matches going on in the stadium and dividing the stadium more clearly.
He remodeled it with the help of sound engineers in the village to make every experience top-class.
No doubt, most of the ideas came from the Nara working for him, and that increased the quality of the stadium by quite an amount. Though it would still not be a problem, as Kaida was planning something for it.
For now, the process had just started, and the owner of the construction company was just marking the field to begin the construction. Due to some last-minute changes, the markings had to be redone, increasing his workload. But since he was getting his money, there was not a shred of complaint from his side at all.
With business complete, his thoughts wandered toward the details his second clone had gotten:
'There are not many missions in the Land of Water. The most I am getting are escort missions which will severely restrict my movement during the mission. Considering the fact that I don't even know the exact location of Kimimaro in the Land of Water, other than the fact that Orochimaru found him at the outskirts of the Land of Water, I need extensive searching to find him.
For such, I need a different mission—a mission that will allow me to travel all across the Land of Water without any worry.' Kaida thought and chose to wait some time for any such mission, as any escort mission would just be a chore and would not help at all.
So he sent another clone to look for the mission while he went down, as something really interesting had happened in the time he was busy with Itachi's disease.
Yomi and Karin wanted to increase their strength as soon as possible, but there were very few options present for them, so they asked the person who could give them the best advice at the moment.
"So, you want to become stronger, huh?" Shisui asked, rubbing his chin thoughtfully.
"Yes, brother," Yomi replied, her voice firm with determination. "I don't ever want to feel this weak again."
Shisui gave a small smile, but his eyes held a knowing look. "I understand. But let me be clear—growing stronger takes time. Unless you're extremely lucky, it's a long and difficult process. You won't become monstrously powerful overnight. However, if your goal is to be useful, that's a different story."
He paused, studying both Yomi and Karin. Given Yomi's background, he knew that even with talent and hard work, her peak would likely be around Jonin level—Elite Jonin would be a stretch. Karin, on the other hand, had untapped potential, but she didn't seem particularly skilled in conventional ninjutsu.
With that in mind, Shisui decided to offer a different approach.
"Strength comes in many forms," he continued. "For example, a medical ninja can heal an injured fighter. If you save even one Elite Jonin during battle, doesn't that mean you've increased your side's fighting power by an entire Elite Jonin?"
Yomi and Karin nodded, following his reasoning.
"Then there's Fuinjutsu," he added. "Sealing techniques can be used to set traps, reinforce defenses, or even break enemy seals. A well-placed seal can change the course of a battle. You can choose any of these paths, but if you want my recommendation—Fuinjutsu would be the best option."
He gestured toward Karin. "After all, you have an excellent teacher right here."
Realization dawned on both Yomi and Karin as they exchanged glances.
"Thank you, brother!" Yomi said with a bow before she and Karin turned to leave, newfound determination shining in their eyes.
They both made their way toward Karin's house, where Reina was enjoying her sweet time with some snacks, a cup of tea, and a magazine which was quite popular among Konoha ladies.
"Mom, Mom, where are you?" Karin shouted as they entered the house.
"I am in the hall. What happened?" Reina was shocked to hear her daughter shouting in such urgency. Her heart, which was still getting accustomed to the safety of Konoha, feared the worst.
"Mom, we want to learn Fuinjutsu from you," Karin said, coming to the hall only to find her mom standing.
"..."
"What?"
"Mom, we want to learn Fuinjutsu from you, please teach us," Karin repeated her sentence as she thought her mother was not able to hear her the first time.
Reina finally calmed down as a small chuckle left her mouth. 'I almost forgot that we are in Konoha,' she thought, taking her seat back.
"So, both of you want to learn Fuinjutsu, huh? Can I ask why this sudden interest?" Reina asked as she took another sip from her teacup.
"Ma'am, I recently found out how weak and useless I am... How I can't do anything when people actually need my help, and I want to change that. For that, I want to learn this to become useful to the people I care about," Yomi said.
"Same," Karin chimed in at the end, with her expression as resolute as possible.
"Hahaha, fine! I'll start teaching you both tomorrow," Reina said with a grin. "We'll train from 10 AM to 2 PM, then again from 4 PM to 8 PM." Since she had plenty of free time during the day, she saw no reason not to help them.
So they began learning Fuinjutsu, the best possible one from Reina from that day. By the time Kaida completed the procedure and learned about this, 4 days had passed. Today, on the fourth day, when Shisui was about to leave for the mission, Kaida was in his neighbor's house.
"I would also like to learn Fuinjutsu from you, Lady Reina," Kaida said, bowing at a full 90 degrees in respect. Behind him, Yomi and Karin chuckled at his formal gesture.
Reina smiled warmly, a motherly expression gracing her face. "I expected as much, Kaida. There's no need for you to bow like that. I have no problem teaching you at all."
Kaida assumed this would be like his usual training sessions, unaware of the pitiful gazes Yomi and Karin were directing at him.
"However," Reina continued, "I can't take extra time to teach you separately. Since you already have a head start compared to these two, you can begin learning in a month or two. By then, they should catch up to your level."
If the Fuinjutsu grandmasters of Konoha had heard that statement, they would have coughed up blood in sheer disbelief. Even with Kaida's immense chakra reserves and Sharingan, it had taken him months to reach his current level—yet Reina was saying that Yomi and Karin could achieve the same in just one or two months.
Of course, Reina wasn't referring to Kaida's actual level of mastery. In her eyes, he had only grasped the basics of seal formation, and his understanding of advanced combinations and array formations was still lacking.
That was why she told him to wait—he would need to relearn some fundamentals before progressing further.
"Understood, Sensei," Kaida replied. He was more than satisfied with this arrangement, as he still had some unfinished matters to take care of.
