Naruto: This Genius is Somewhat Ordinary-Chapter 383
"Fujimoto Tōma," the Sage of Six Paths said solemnly,
"Once again, I entrust my mother’s sealing to you."
"Leave it to me."
Tōma clenched his fist, feeling the immense power settled within his body, then nodded.
He had never intended to rely on the Sage’s strength. But having it was like carrying a final parachute into freefall.
No matter what happened next, this would be his last battle.
Seventeen years since he arrived in this world.
Tōma laughed quietly, the sound edged with something sharp.
The pressure Kaguya had placed on him since childhood, the shadow looming over the world, the impossible wall he’d been climbing toward his entire life... he had finally reached this point.
Then he took one more step forward.
With a slow breath, Tōma withdrew from the formless void and returned to his body.
His eyes opened.
Before him stood the Divine Tree, towering and grotesque, and beside it floated a massive sphere. From that sphere protruded nine gigantic tailed-beast heads, each one struggling violently, roaring as if trying to tear free.
At the very front of the sphere hovered a pale, rabbit-like figure.
Her forehead bore a crimson Rinne Sharingan with nine tomoe.
That was the core.
So even Kaguya couldn’t instantly suppress the power of an entire world.
Tōma shifted his focus inward.
Examining the Sage of Six Paths’ power within him, he quickly reached a conclusion. When both of his souls worked in unison, his Yin Release actually surpassed what the Sage had left behind.
And yet—
Even after a thousand years, the Sage’s remaining Yin Release was still terrifyingly deep. If this man had been alive at his peak, his strength would have been on an entirely different level.
"...The more I understand," Tōma muttered,
"the more I wonder how Naruto and Sasuke even pulled it off."
They had only inherited part of the Sage’s power. And yet they’d defeated Kaguya.
Back then, the Sage himself had needed help from his brother to seal her. Was Hamura really just standing around for moral support?
Maybe Kaguya hadn’t fully recovered after being sealed for so long.
Or maybe she hesitated because Naruto and Sasuke carried traces of her sons.
Either way, Tōma figured he still had his own advantages over Six Paths Naruto and Sasuke.
...Probably.
He exhaled, pushing the thoughts aside. Speculation was useless now. Kaguya’s true strength would only be revealed in combat.
Instead, he focused on the Sage’s Yang Release.
Life.
The essence of vitality itself.
Even now, this Yang Release far surpassed Tōma’s own. Once again, he was forced to acknowledge just how absurd the Sage of Six Paths truly was.
But not using the power didn’t mean wasting it.
Tōma had already touched something the Sage never could.
He had intercepted chakra flowing from every living thing. Countless forms of life, countless expressions of vitality. Weak ones. Strong ones. Endless variation.
In sheer diversity, that experience alone rivaled the Sage’s Yang Release.
If Tōma had time... real time...
He was certain he could take one final step forward in body and life force.
But the world wasn’t waiting.
The sphere unraveled.
From it emerged a woman with deathly pale skin and hair that flowed like blue-white silk far past her waist. Two horns curved from her head. She wore a white robe marked with black tomoe, her Byakugan eyes cold and empty.
The crimson Rinne Sharingan opened.
Tōma met her gaze, eyes burning.
At last.
Ōtsutsuki Kaguya.
Kaguya slowly opened her eyes, staring down at him. Confusion flickered across her expression.
"That power..." she said quietly.
"It resembles Hagoromo’s... and Hamura’s. But you are not them."
"You’re right," Tōma replied evenly.
"I only inherited what they left behind."
The pressure from her chakra alone was overwhelming. Even standing still, she dwarfed Madara completely.
"You wield power without understanding it," Kaguya said flatly.
"It is wasted on you."
She looked down at the land below.
"This world is my garden. I will not allow it to be trampled further. We end this here."
"That works for me," Tōma said, glancing at the fractured continent nearby.
His clash with Madara had already torn the land apart. A full fight here would erase the world before Kaguya ever needed to.
So—
"Then let’s move," he added calmly.
Kaguya paused, surprised.
Her Rinne Sharingan flashed.
The world warped.
Heat.
Tōma found himself standing above a vast sea of magma. The air burned. The ground below boiled.
"Here," Kaguya said coldly.
"I will erase you completely."
Tōma hovered calmly, feeling the space-time distortion settle. He could resist it. Rewrite it.
But there was no need.
"So this is your technique," he murmured.
"Heavenly Transfer... not bad."
Despite the distance, he could still feel his Flying Thunder God markers. These dimensions weren’t separate timelines, just different spaces within the same framework.
On his shoulder, the Moon Sprite stirred, shaking her head uneasily and licking his cheek.
"Too hot for you, huh?" Tōma said softly.
He smiled and tapped her head.
"You did great. Rest for now."
The sprite vanished instantly.
Kaguya frowned.
"That creature... left my dimension?"
Her Byakugan told her it had no chakra at all.
Interesting.
No matter. Once this man was gone, she would retrieve it easily.
Tōma glanced down at the magma, then looked back up with a strange smile.
"Quick question," he asked.
"Are you sure you want to fight me in this space?"
"What difference does it make?" Kaguya replied.
Her hair exploded outward, transforming into countless white needles.
"Kekkei Mōra—Rabbit Hair Needles."
The attack struck.
Tōma fell straight down into the magma.
"Hmph," Kaguya said coolly.
"Even with their power, you disgrace it."
"Mother, don’t underestimate him," Black Zetsu whispered urgently from her sleeve.
But Kaguya wasn’t convinced.
Below, beneath the magma’s surface—
Tōma stood.
Several white needles pierced his body, deliberately avoiding vital points. He calmly pulled them free, examining the chakra within.
Kekkei Mōra.
So this was its texture.
He hadn’t taken the hit by mistake. He’d needed to feel it.
Time was too short for safe study.
This was faster.
Heat pressed in around him, but a blazing Susanoo-like armor wrapped his body, holding the magma at bay.
He smiled.
This battlefield was perfect.
A crimson orb formed in his hand. Inside it, a fiery silhouette leapt with excitement.
Light exploded.
"Sage Art—Blaze Release: Vermilion Phoenix."
The magma began to vanish.
A massive, spiraling vortex of flame formed beneath Kaguya, something vast and terrifying awakening within it.
For the first time—
Kaguya looked down in uncertainty.
