Natural Disaster: I Started By Hoarding Tens Of Billions Of Supplies-Chapter 453: Access Denied
Chapter 453: Access Denied
Seeing that they needed a passcode to open the door, Yao Ran thought for a moment and said, "A Yu, let's catch someone."
Understanding her plan, Long Yu nodded. The two of them then found a hiding place nearby and waited. Soon, a young woman in her early twenties, dressed in a white robe, stepped out of the elevator. As she walked to the laboratory, she was flipping through a report with her head down.
As she walked closer, Yao Ran signaled to Long Yu with her eyes. The moment the young woman passed their hiding spot, Long Yu struck the back of her neck with his hand.
"Ugh…" Letting out a soft groan, she fainted instantly.
Before the young woman's body could touch the ground, Yao Ran caught her and dragged her into their hiding place. Taking her ID card, she carefully placed the unconscious young woman in the innermost area. Unless someone looked closely, no one would realize she was there.
Holding the ID card, Yao Ran stood up and said, "Let's go."
The two of them then returned to the laboratory's entrance. While Long Yu kept watch, Yao Ran placed the ID card on the scanner. A few seconds later, a beeping sound echoed in the silent corridor.

As the door unlocked, Yao Ran took Long Yu's hand and carefully pushed it open. Peeking inside, she saw that there was nobody inside.
"No one is inside," she whispered.
Long Yu nodded, and then they stepped into the laboratory and quietly shut the door behind them.
Before Yao Ran could take a clear look at the surroundings, Long Yu suddenly covered her eyes with his palm.
"A Yu, what's wrong?" she asked, confused.
Noticing her attempt to pull his hand away, Long Yu wrapped his arm around her and said, "Don't look."
She could feel the tension in his body and the murderous aura radiating from him. After a moment of silence, she said firmly, "I want to see."
Long Yu frowned at her words. After a few seconds of silence, he tried to persuade her. "Ran Ran, it's better if you don't see it. I'm afraid you will—"
Yao Ran interrupted him and patted his arm gently, "You are here. I will be fine."
After spending over a year together, Long Yu knew her well enough to realize that once she made up her mind, there was no changing it.
Letting out a sigh, he kissed the top of her head and warned her softly, "Prepare yourself."
"Mhm."
Once she nodded, Long Yu lowered his hand. As soon as Yao Ran opened her eyes, they shrank in shock.
Inside the spacious laboratory, more than a dozen children were submerged in tubes filled with blue liquid connected to the huge machine on the wall. Some were missing body parts, while others were severely deformed.
Out of all of them, only one retained a complete human form, but there was a big hole in the middle of his forehead. From where she stood, Yao Ran could clearly see that more than half of his brain was missing.
Memories of her past experiences surged in her mind when he saw that, and her mind went blank. Just as she was about to fall into a nightmare, Long Yu pulled her into his embrace.
Lifting her chin, he gazed into her unfocused eyes and commanded, "Ran Ran, focus. Look at me."
Slowly, Yao Ran raised her eyes. When she saw Long Yu's worried expression, the darkness in her mind began to fade.
She opened her pale lips and called him tremblingly, "A Yu…"
Seeing that she hadn't succumbed to her trauma, Long Yu let out a sigh of relief. He patted her back gently and asked with a hint of worry in his calm voice, "Are you alright?"
Yao Ran nodded. "I'm fine now."
After saying that, she scanned the laboratory. Soon, her gaze landed on a computer in the middle of the room.
Pointing at it, she said, "That computer must contain data about their experiments. Can you guard the door while I check it?"
Long Yu nodded. "Yes."
Just as Yao Ran was about to step forward, Long Yu stopped her. "Wait. We need to cover the surveillance cameras first. Do you have a Polaroid camera?"
"Yes." Yao Ran nodded and took a Polaroid camera from her space.
Taking the Polaroid camera from her, Long Yu carefully moves to the nearest surveillance camera. Following the surveillance camera's direction, he snapped a picture of the laboratory.
He then stuck the photo over the surveillance cameras, effectively blocking their view. Following this method, Long Yu continues to deal with the remaining surveillance cameras.
Once he finished covering all of them, he nodded at Yao Ran. Upon receiving his signal, Yao Ran quickly approached the computer and began searching through the data.
Meanwhile, Wu Yehao and his team had reached the restricted area. Seeing two guards standing at the entrance to the restricted area, he raised his gun and calmly shot at them.
Physiu! Physiu!
Thud! Thud!
After silently taking down two guards stationed at the entrance, Wu Yehao and his men dragged the bodies into a corner.
As Wu Yehao collected the guards' weapons and ammunition, one of his subordinates approached and whispered, "Captain, the door requires fingerprint and retina scans to open."
Hearing this, Wu Yehao pulled out his military dagger and severed one of the bodies' index fingers before extracting the eyeballs. Seeing this, his subordinates quickly followed suit with the other body.
Using the severed fingers and eyeballs, they successfully gained access to the restricted area.
As they advanced through a long corridor, they arrived at another metal door. Noticing it had the same scanning system, Wu Yehao attempted to use the severed finger and eyeball again.
However, instead of unlocking, a message appeared on the screen.
[Access Denied.]
One of his subordinates grimaced and said, "Captain, it looks like these guards' ranks were too low to access this area."
