Natural Disasters Strikes: I stockpiled like crazy!-Chapter 192: Shall we continue our conversation?
Wang Jian wiped the sweat off his brow.
"I finally fixed the buses! Once we find extra batteries and reinforce the windows and doors, we'll be good to go!"
Lao Gong and the others cheered. "We can finally leave this place!"
One of the repair team members muttered, "Come to think of it, I wonder how those people who followed Mingsi are doing."
The atmosphere instantly turned heavy. Even Wang Jian and Lao Gong's expressions darkened.
"Hey, why bring them up?"
"I believe that what goes around comes around! Whatever happens to them has nothing to do with us! They chose that path, and they must face the consequences!"

A sharp, metallic scent of blood filled the air as Zhang Xin's consciousness stirred. His head throbbed, his body ached, and he pushed himself up from the cold, grimy floor.
The last thing he remembered was being chased by a swarm of ants and encountering a small convoy on the road. He was robbed—then nothing.
A lone candle flickered in the dim space. Zhang Xin's gaze adjusted, and he realized he was inside a metal cage. Around him, other people lay sprawled, their eyes hollow with exhaustion and fear.
"What the—" He recoiled, then caught sight of something else.
In the cage beside him, alien beast corpses were piled in a corner. Their grotesque bodies were riddled with holes, green liquid oozing from wounds as if they had been pierced by a sharp object.
Where is this place?
Suddenly, footsteps echoed. Zhang Xin snapped his gaze toward the source—a barely visible figure lurking in the shadows. Then, he felt it.
A pair of crimson eyes.
"Only these? There's too few."
The voice was calm, but Zhang Xin shivered. The way the figure spoke and that gaze... It was like a butcher inspecting livestock before slaughter.
Suddenly, the owner of the voice approached the cell, his hand reached out and grabbed the nearest person.
The thin person struggled of his grasp.
"Mingsi! Mingsi! Wait! Let me go! How could you do this to me when I followed everything you said?! I stained my hands, I brought you people and alien beasts—I did everything you asked—!"
"You're too noisy."
Crack—
Zhang Xin's eyes widened in horror. The man's neck bent at an unnatural angle, and within five seconds, his body shriveled into a dry husk—like an Egyptian mummy.
Zhang Xin clenched his fists. Was he dreaming? No matter how many times he blinked, the corpse didn't disappear.
"Hah. If only I could find a more powerful awakener…"
Zhang Xin froze.
"Boss Mingsi! Boss Mingsi!"
Another person rushed in. Their conversation was muffled by the distance, but Zhang Xin caught a few words—tunnels and ant queen.
Then, the floor beneath him rumbled.
A faint explosion echoed from outside.
Mingsi's red eyes flickered. He and his subordinates hurried out.
Outside, a group of people gathered around a massive hole in the ground.
"Boss, this is…"
"Gather the men."
Beneath the sewers, three hundred meters from where Nanzhi was, a brutal battle raged between mutated rats and ants.
The tunnels were littered with bodies—mangled rat carcasses and dismembered ants. Corpses were carried away by surviving ants, dragged back to the nest as food for the queen.
The last twenty rats were backed into a corner, completely outnumbered. On the other side, soldier ants loomed, their acidic saliva corroding the surroundings.
The ants reared their heads, preparing to spit another wave of acid.
The rats had nowhere to run.
"Squeak!!"
A massive rat, the leader of the pack, burned with a faint glow. It was a Tier 2 Middle-Stage Fire Attribute Alien Beast. It gathered the last of its strength, conjuring a massive fireball—
BOOOOM!
The sewers erupted.
Decades of methane gas buildup ignited, triggering a chain reaction. Fire and pressure surged through the tunnels, exploding upward in a violent blast.
Above ground—
Crack. Boom. Rumble.
Nanzhi and her group barely had seconds to react.
The streets beneath them groaned, cracks spider-webbing across the pavement. Then—
The ground disappeared.
The entire street collapsed.
They fell.
"Brother Lin!"
"Sister Nan!"
Nanzhi's pupils shrank. Her mental power surged, forming a thin layer of protective barrier around everyone. Just as she was about to pull them up—
Another explosion.
Tons of rubble, concrete, and debris crashed into the abyss, swallowing everything in its wake.
Lao Gong and the others clung to their vehicles as the earth trembled.
When the tremor ceased, they turned toward the city center—stunned.
"What the hell just happened?!"
"Didn't the guests drive that way? Are they okay?"
Nanzhi opened her eyes.
She lay atop a pile of debris, dust coating her face and clothes. She coughed, then summoned a flashlight from her space. The dim light illuminated her surroundings.
A tunnel.
It was too smooth. Too perfectly carved.
Whoosh—
Nanzhi leaped aside.
A hole appeared where she had just stood.
She turned her head and moved her flashlight.
There he saw Big Fang.
He grinned at her.
His body had mutated. He stood nearly three meters tall, muscles grotesquely swollen. His skin had taken on a sickly, almost translucent sheen, his veins bulging in unnatural patterns.
"I was hoping to find that man first and tear him apart, but you're the one who showed up." Big Fang's grin widened. "Just great! I'll have my way with you first before killing that man."
He thought he had struck gold, meeting the cold beauty alone.
But he had merely escaped a wolf's den… only to fall into a tiger's lair.
"Be obedient and come here—"
Before he could finish his sentence, Nanzhi raised her right leg—
With a single kick, Big Fang's monstrous body was sent flying.
Crack!
His hulking form slammed into the opposite tunnel wall. The impact left a deep crater.
Big Fang's mind reeled. Impossible!
He had drunk the power boost vial. He was stronger than ever! This shouldn't be happening!
"Now…"
Nanzhi stepped forward.
Her cold, mocking smile sent chills down Big Fang's spine.
"Shall we continue our conversation?"
(A/N: Have a great weekend!)
