New World with Four Husbands-Chapter 194: Guitar
Chapter 194: Guitar
"Good morning, Ms. Merge." Quizen greeted the woman.
The woman stopped sweeping and turned around, facing both Coco and Quizen.
She has beautiful black hair and eyes, her hair a silky black waterfall that cascades down her back in straight, glossy locks and her eyes were a deep black, the color so dark they almost seemed to blend into the inky black hair framing her face.
Despite the darkness of her hair and eyes, her features were delicate and feminine, her lips full and plump, and her expression soft and sweet.
"Quizen?" The woman called out, smiling softly at the mediator, "What brings you to this part of the village at this time of the day? It’s a little early, don’t you think?"
Coco’s jaw dropped, her eyes wide in surprise as she stared at the woman.
She was wearing a dress and it looked incredibly beautiful.
It was black, made of a soft, flowing material that pooled around her feet, but the color of the dress was the deepest black— a dark void that looked as if it might draw one in, like a black hole.
The dress hugged her body, the sleeves of the dress were slightly puffed, the fabric ending just above her wrist, the hem brushing against the ground and it was obvious that the material was made of an expensive soft, silky fabric.
Every inch of her body was enhanced by the dress, the black color making her pale skin glow in the dim lighting.
Despite the simplicity of the dress, it was difficult to take one’s eyes off her— the dress was simple yet elegant, the fabric falling in graceful folds, and the color adding an air of mystery to her overall appearance.
"I’m here with my wife." Quizen spoke up which snapped Coco out of her daze. free𝑤ebnovel.com
"Your wife?" The woman blinked and looked past the mediator, her eyes landing on Coco.
"Good morning." Coco greeted her with a polite smile, "My husband and my friend told me that your shop has instruments. Can we take a look?"
"Well, would you look at that?" The woman hummed out and smirked, "I didn’t know that Quizen’s wife would be such a.. Stunning and beautiful woman. You looked far from the rumors I hear going around."
"She’s married." Quizen quipped and forced out a smile.
"Relax, I’m not planning to ask her to be mine." Ms. Merge chuckled and turned in her heels, the hem of her dress bouncing as she moved, "Follow me. I already know what kind of instruments you’re looking for."
The married couple followed the woman inside the shop and was immediately greeted by the scent of freshly baked goods, making Coco swallow.
"Please don’t mind the smell. I’m baking some muffins, you see." The woman halfheartedly apologized and dropped the broom she was holding to the side, "Anyway, please wait here. I’ll get the guitar at the back."
Coco blinked in surprise and watched the woman scurried behind the counter. ".. How did she know that I’m going to buy a guitar?"
"She probably thought that it was for me." Quizen answered and looked away from Coco, "You should tell her that it’s not for me. She has another guitar around, but what she will bring out was the guitar I specifically asked for a month ago."
Coco brightened up. "I see! Since it was what you asked for, I’m going to buy that one."
"What—"
"I’m back!" Ms. Merge emerged from the door while holding a leather guitar case, "Here’s the guitar that your husband reserved five weeks ago. I was sure that he would come looking for this so I made sure to clean it once a week."
Coco didn’t have to look at the guitar and accepted it from the woman.
"Here, check it if you like it." Coco handed the guitar case to the mediator and slipped her hand in her empty pocket, withdrawing ten gold coins from her personal pocket.
"How much is it, miss?" Coco asked, turning back to the woman.
"Just five gold coins." She answered, smiling and tapping her finger above the wooden counter, "It can be four gold coins, just for you, pretty girl."
Coco laughed nervously and fetched out five gold coins. "I can go for the original price."
She barely let go of the coins when the scroll of the quest suddenly popped up in front of her, the sudden appearance startling her slightly.
Ding!
[Quizen’s Quest {1} done! Receiving rewards...]
[Unlocking [Fool’s Gold], please wait a moment...]
That was fast. Coco thought, her eyes trained on the scroll as she stepped away from the counter.
".. Three, four, five." Ms. Merge finished counting the coins and smiled at Coco, "You could have given me four coins instead of five. I wouldn’t mind, you know?"
"Haha.." Coco laughed nervously once more and turned to Quizen, finding him staring at the guitar.
The mediator held the guitar, staring at it with a look of pure affection— his eyes shone with love and admiration, his fingers gently running over the smooth surface of the instrument like it was a precious treasure.
He caressed the wood with a tenderness, his touch gentle and almost cautious.
His face was relaxed, his expression soft as he looked at the guitar, his eyes holding a dreamy, faraway look, like he was lost in a happy memory.
Coco couldn’t help, but smile at the sight.
She didn’t say anything and walked over to the mediator, bending down and picking up the guitar case off the floor once she reached him.
"We’ll be on our way." Coco told the woman with a polite bow of her head.
"Have a good day." Ms. Merge wished them from the bottom of her heart as she waved at the married couple, watching them exit the shop.
Coco closed the door silently and turned to Quizen and saw him look away from the instrument just in time.
"Did you like it?" Coco asked, handing him the guitar case.
