Chapter 646: Informing the scarred mediators

"Take care of Coco, okay?"

Zaque stood by the front door and was facing Jonathan, his eyebrows furrowed as he looked over the scarred mediator’s shoulder to look at Coco and Renaldo walking out of the kitchen.

"We will." Renaldo called over this soon-to-be lover’s shoulder with a pointed look. "You’re going to be late. Go and run along now."

"Yeah, you’ll be late." Jonathan seconded Renaldo’s statement with a pointed stare of his own. "Just because you went hard on her last night and are now worrying doesn’t let you off the hook of being late."

Jonathan’s words made Coco freeze in her tracks, her face blooming with heat and color.

Renaldo was quick to divert her attention and push her forward towards the living room, knowing full well that she’s feeling a little embarrassed about kicking them out last night because she needed her husbands.

If given the chance, I’ll kick them out, too. Renaldo thought, his face blank, but mind full of Jacques’ flushed face.

In fact, I don’t know why she’s shy about this kind of thing.. Wasn’t she a noble? Renaldo redirected his thoughts to her strange behavior, eyes narrowing at his friend’s slightly red face.

Renaldo knows fully well that Coco was disowned by her mother three years ago, but by then, she would have received the education for noble heirs, no?

My wife talked about this kind of thing with her father a lot. Renaldo grumbled in his mind, guiding Coco down on the couch and making her take a seat.

Then, he walked over to the single couch and took a seat.

Oh well, it’s not my business. He shrugged off his concern and looked over to the living room doorway, just in time to see Jonathan walking inside the room.

"Zaque finally left." The mediator informed Coco before taking a seat beside her. "It was quite hard to drive him away."

Hearing Jonathan enter the room had snapped Coco out of her little moment of embarrassment and made her turn to her friend, an apologetic smile emerging in her face.

"Sorry.. I told them numerous times that I can handle myself." Coco mumbled, raising a hand to scratch her cheek.

"It’s normal to worry about his significant other if he knows that he went a little too far." Jonathan stated, his eyes narrowing as he eyed her legs that were shaking slightly when he arrived.

"I never knew that they would drive you that hard." He proceeded to grumble, shaking his head as he did so. "When I was first commissioned by Heiren, he didn’t look like the type to be smitten with his wife.. But I guess I was wrong."

Coco laughed nervously, remembering the first time she met the mediators.

"Right, about that.." Coco trailed off slowly, her eyebrows furrowing as she tried to find the right words to say to them. "I’m pretty sure the two of you know how bad I was back in Yogusho Village, right?"

"Bad?" Renaldo repeated, leaning back on the couch. "I wouldn’t say bad, but it’s close enough."

Coco turned to him, raising an eyebrow. "You’re pretty generous for someone who I tried to pick a fight with before. Just because I’m your friend now doesn’t give me that pass, you know?"

"I’m serious." Renaldo shot back, sighing. "Sure, you were always drunk and looking for trouble, but you didn’t really seek me or my wife out."

"Looking for trouble?" Jonathan raised an eyebrow. "When I first moved into the village, I heard rumors about Coco being a thug. Isn’t that the reason why she was.. Uh, put in Yogusho?"

"Haha, ’put’, right.." Coco chuckled, awkward and tense. "I’m pretty sure the correct word for that is disowned."

Jonathan swallowed and scratched his cheek, a sheepish look landing on his face. "I didn’t know if it was still a sensitive topic for you, so I tried to speak about it as much as possible.."

Coco shrugged. "Why would it be a sensitive topic for me? I’m not Coco Hughes."

Coco really didn’t have any plans on how to open the topic with Renaldo and Jonathan— she didn’t even have any idea on how she did it with her husbands and Jacques, she just did it.

Though a part of her felt like she should have approached this kind of topic with Renaldo and Jonathan more carefully, but a part of her knew that they would accept her like they did when she first asked them to be her friend.

"What?"

"Pardon?"

The mediators’ blinked, their hearts dropping to their stomach.

As expected, the two of them would look confused and disorientated at the news, but that’s how the others were when she first told them the truth, no?

"Coco Hughes died." Coco stated, her eyes switching to looking at Renaldo’s face to Jonathan’s. "And I think after an hour.. I took over her body because I died as well."

The mediators stared at her, their expressions blank, but she could see the slight twitch on Renaldo’s eyebrow.

"My.. My real name is Coco Coison." She started off with an official introduction, feeling nervous at how still her friends had become. "Since Coco is the name of the original owner of this body, I didn’t have a hard time adjusting."

Despite the unbelievable words she had uttered, the two still didn’t show any sign of moving.

"I, uh, I.. I stayed for a week outside the village because Coco Hughes died in the forest." Coco giggled, and she didn’t know why, but she just did and it somehow made her feel light.

"I told her husbands about me when I met all of them and as expected, they didn’t take it well, but.." Coco swallowed thickly, another breathy giggle escaping her lips. "But I was already there so I didn’t know what to do except for telling them the truth."

Still, no reaction whatsoever was shown and it’s starting to make her nerves go haywire.
