Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven-Chapter 325: We might have been lovers in the past life
The abnormal mana particle around Jasmine swiftly subdued and before Grey knew it, Jasmine was standing right in front of him.
"Chief Grey, I awakened." Jasmine chuckled as she spoke, she went through her hair with hands straightening her blonde hair.
"Congratulations on awakening." Grey replied shortly.
"So what did you awaken?" Grey inquired curiously.
"I have no idea." Jasmine replied with the same smile on her face.
"I was thinking you would know something about it, Chief Grey." Jasmine said with a laugh.
"Maybe I should take some of my blood samples and see what changes have happened." She replied thoughtfully.
"Why are you lying? We both know that you awakening it must’ve given its necessary information on it." Grey’s lips twitched when he saw Jasmine blatantly lying.
When he heard the notification about her awakening, he had received necessary information related to the awakening procedure.
And his comprehension lotus never lies.
A bigger smile bloomed on Jasmine’s face when she heard it.
"I was right, Chief Grey, you have something that tells you about the person you are looking at don’t you?" Jasmine laughed loudly.
"Like an appraisal skill."
"I was right! They don’t call me a genius for no reason." She added.
"Appraisal skill?" It was Grey’s turn to laugh.
"I have no idea on what you are talking about."
She was far from the truth.
But yes, he did have the appraisal skill.
But his comprehension ability was something that could realise the true intentions of the hidden rules of evolution and the Heavenly Dao.
Even see through the reason as to why Jasmine jumped down from the future into the past.
It was merely one of its functions.
She will never reach the truth.
Unless he flaunted his heaven defying comprehension.
Which he didn’t plan on doing so.
"It’s not an appraisal skill?" Jasmine stopped laughing and looked at Grey in surprise.
Grey merely shrugged.
Jasmine fell silent seeing this, she observed Grey closely, he showed no sense of panic or even a change of expression aside from amusement.
That meant he was either faking it and was very proficient in controlling his body language or he was saying the truth.
"Chief Grey, you really are a formidable foe." Jasmine chuckled softly.
She came closer to Grey abruptly and placed her hands on his chest, near his heart.
There, the crystalline core was constantly pumping blood.
"I can sense your heart beating, did it also stir when you first met me, Chief Grey?" Jasmine asked softly as she leaned even closer than before.
She rested her head on Grey’s chest.
If one observed them closely, they would think they were hugging.
"..." Grey was dumbfounded.
There was something wrong with this woman’s head.
Why did she suddenly rest her head on his chest when she was calling him a formidable foe like he was some sort of souls game boss a moment ago?
"Chief Grey, your heartbeat, it’s different." Jasmine said softly as she looked up with a grin.
"I knew you were not a normal human." Jasmine said with a smile.
"I was fascinated with your dragon form when I first saw it."
"I knew it was something special because there aren’t any dragonoid beasts on Blue Star for you to collect the bloodline of and use it to transform using the energy of the bloodline evolutionary path."
"Your body had fundamentally changed too." Jasmine said with a big grin on her face.
"Sensing one’s heart rate is the best way to identify a being."
"The abyssal beings have a slightly faster heartbeat than humans."
"Mutated beasts have even faster heartbeats than abyssal beings but they are constantly following a rhythm."
"Their heartbeat is connected to nature."
"The abyssal beings are the same too, they also follow the rhythm of the abyss."
"But humans, they are unique."
"They don’t have a specific rhythmic heartbeat."
"They follow a ticking pattern where it constantly beats in the same repeated sequence till the day we die."
"But yours is slow and only beats a few times in a minute."
"It’s almost like you don’t need your heartbeat to survive." Jasmine said as she rested her head back on Grey’s lean muscular chest.
"Damn, you are one clingy woman." Grey couldn’t help but say.
"You don’t like it, Chief Grey?" A beautiful girl like me is resting her head on your chest." Jasmine said with a grin on her face.
"Back in my old world, many people would queue up to even see me."
"You should be grateful, Chief Grey." Jasmine added as she continued listening to Grey’s heartbeat.
"..." Grey didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
This woman was a bit too straightforward wasn’t she?
But considering her personality, she seemed like the type to do it.
"Being close to you like this, my heart is stirring unnecessarily again, Chief Grey." Jasmine spoke once more.
"This is a phenomenon I’ve never experienced before."
"My heart has never stirred like this before."
"What did you do to me, Chief Grey?"
"Have you drugged me with a love potion?" Jasmine asked with a smile on her face.
"Like I would know." Grey replied with knitted eyebrows.
She was right.
Now that she was close to him like this, his heart stirred in response as well.
He didn’t like this feeling at all.
A feeling that had no explanation behind it.
A feeling where his comprehension didn’t work.
"It’s possible we were lovers in a past life, Chief Grey."
"Maybe fate has brought us together after our tragic death in our previous lives." Jasmine said with a smile.
She stopped what she was doing and tidied her clothes once more.
"Previous life?" Grey shook his head.
"Not possible."
As far as he was concerned, he never had a girlfriend.
How would she be his lover in a past life?
That wouldn’t make sense at all.
"For now, the best course of action is to experiment with this phenomenon, and find the cause for it."
