Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven-Chapter 334: Demise
Just like that, an hour passed in silence. By now, the employees of the Azrael Corporation had already hailed the AVS, and all that was left was for Valeria and the others to enter and depart.
"Nephew Valeria, it’s already been an hour. We will now depart." General Ben said with a stern look on his face.
"I already told you, Uncle Ben, I won’t go without my friend coming. Why are you making it difficult for me? I will tell Father about it when we get back." Valeria said with a glare on her face.
"You..." General Ben shook his head helplessly, but just before that, several streaks of light flashed from the sky.
"It’s Grey and Lia!" Valeria exclaimed as she saw the light coming toward them.
The light dispersed and revealed Grey and Lia, along with little Hong.
"I’m back." Grey smiled at Valeria as he spoke.
"Who might this be?" Grey turned toward General Ben.
Hearing his question, Valeria quickly began recounting what had happened.
"Oh." Grey nodded with a look of understanding. "If that’s the case, then we will depart as General Ben has instructed."
The others didn’t have any problem with that. Since Grey had spoken, they would do what he said. He must have had a plan in his mind.
Then, they all began boarding the AVS.
General Ben, on the side, stared indifferently at the departing figures. In his vision, there was no Grey, Lia, or little Hong. To him, it looked like they were talking to themselves.
"Good work, Lily." General Ben glanced at the officer with glasses next to him.
"They are easier to manipulate than I thought." Lily said with an indifferent look on her face.
"My technique allows me to manipulate a person’s thoughts and vision based on their desires. I can form heart demons in them." Lily explained to her lord.
"You think I don’t know that?" General Ben gave a chuckle as he held onto Lily’s waist.
"Come, let’s go somewhere private. I doubt we can do it after going to the Western Region to meet Grand Priest Leon." General Ben said as he slapped Lily’s butt.
"Here?" Lily became slightly embarrassed, her indifferent persona shattering.
Then, they went somewhere private and came back five minutes later. General Ben had a satisfied look on his face. Lily, on the other hand, had a tired look on her face.
"Huh? Why are you still here?" General Ben glanced at the other officer that had accompanied him here.
He was a high-order member too.
"Lily, do me a favor and go eliminate this Grey Lockhart for me. Grand Priest Leon had given me a call before arriving here. The Abyssal Mistress was severely harmed by him. He should be near our base."
"Just come back to the Western Region once you are done." General Ben gave his orders.
"As you say, General Ben." Lily bowed her head lightly before flickering off into the distance, her next destination being the High Order main stronghold.
"Let’s take Valeria to Grand Priest Leon." Uncle Ben said with a snicker.
He had already been part of the High Order for a long time and was working under the Grand Priest for years. By now, it didn’t matter if it was his own family. He would sell them out.
.....
Thunder boomed.
Tian Yuan stood menacingly in the air with an indifferent look on his face.
By now, Jasmine’s expression had completely changed.
"You are Tian Yuan? I knew I’d seen your face somewhere." Jasmine said with a surprised look on her face. "You look exactly like the founding ancestors of the Hexcore."
"You are from the Neostar?" Tian Yuan indifferently glanced in Jasmine’s direction.
"Yes." Jasmine replied with a smile on her face.
It was shocking. The founding ancestors of the Hexcore, someone that existed countless eras ago, were here on Blue Star?
"The Neostar was a failure." Tian Yuan thought for a moment before speaking with mockery. "I introduced the Hexcore in hopes of someone being capable of becoming attuned to the information layer, to see if a human could enter it as long as they made enough interaction with it. Yet, after someone from that world achieved the first transcendence and formed the origin, they never reached the truth."
"It’s a failure of a heavenly path. I can never perform the ultimate leap with it." Tian Yuan added with indifference.
"The heavenly path?" Grey was particularly sharp to those words, and as soon as he heard them, he asked about it.
"That’s right, the heavenly paths. The prevailing paths that are under the jurisdiction of the current overseer of reality. The Heavenly Dao of this era." Tian Yuan turned to Grey and answered.
"But since you are a saint of the old Heavenly Dao, does that mean you follow an evolutionary path of the old age?" Tian Yuan asked with some interest.
"Who knows. I can’t say for sure." Grey said with a smirk on his face.
"Besides, why should I reveal crucial information to you if you are an enemy?"
"Isn’t that basically hitting yourself in the foot?"
"In turn, I can tell you something about you." Tian Yuan suddenly smiled mysteriously.
Then, he shook his head, a flicker of sneer appearing on his face.
"Forget it. What’s the point of asking something from a dying man?"
"What?" Grey looked confused. "Are you threatening me?"
"Threatening you? Why would I threaten a lower being like you? There is no logical explanation for that. I, Tian Yuan, wouldn’t concern myself with a mortal like you." He said with a sneer.
Just a 2nd ranker, even a fifth rank would have to kneel before him!
"What I meant is this." Tian Yuan spoke calmly, his expression unchanged. "You, mortal, are dying, and the root of it lies in your evolutionary path."
"If my judgment is correct, you will not survive for long. At most, you have a few months left."
"This happened because your insignificant existence attempted something beyond its natural limits."
"You tried to rewrite your destiny by force, and now you are suffering the consequences of that arrogance. Your soul attempted to reshape itself to match the momentum of your growth, but it failed to keep up and is now on the verge of collapse."
Tian Yuan paused briefly, his gaze piercing. "If I am not mistaken, you should have already felt irregular bottlenecks during cultivation."
"Those bottlenecks were not accidents. They were not limits imposed by your talent or resources."
"Each one was a warning issued by your soul, signaling that it could no longer bear the strain."
"But every time you forced yourself through a bottleneck, the burden on your soul increased instead of disappearing."
"The more you advanced, the more severe the internal imbalance became."
"The bottlenecks you encountered were restraints meant to preserve your life. Yet you chose to ignore them, mistaking them for obstacles to be conquered."
"And now," Tian Yuan said coldly, "your soul has reached its breaking point."
"What?" Grey’s expression changed drastically.
