Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven-Chapter 344: High Order is Winning
The blade in Jackie’s hand erupted with a special force.
Domain power surged outward, converging around his body and sword at the same time. His aura climbed sharply, multiplying several times over as the domain condensed instead of expanding.
This was domain amplification.
Only a very small number of Fourth Rank experts could achieve it, and only after mastering their domain to a high degree. Instead of projecting a domain outward, they folded it inward, reinforcing every strike, every movement, every breath.
Stars seemed to shimmer across Jackie’s body and blade.
In the next instant, he shot forward.
But just as he began to move, Leon’s expression turned cold.
"Oh?" Leon said lightly. "You’re approaching me?"
"I can’t beat you without getting close to you, you bastard!" Jackie Everhart roared, rage bursting from his chest.
His daughter was right there.
Even if it cost him his life, he would not allow her to be taken.
To Jackie, everything else was secondary.
Valeria was his treasure.
Emotion flickered across his face as he pushed his speed even further, space tearing faintly around his reinforced body.
Then something shifted.
Abruptly.
Bai Yue’s expression changed.
So did several of the other experts’.
Space flickered beside Leon.
In the same instant, Bai Yue appeared next to him.
Before anyone could react, Leon’s hand moved. A sealing formation slammed directly onto Bai Yue’s face the moment she materialized, as if he had already calculated the timing and prepared for it in advance.
The entire Second Layer fell into silence.
Leon laughed.
"So where was I?" he said casually. "Right."
"If any of you dare to come closer, I will eliminate the Seer."
His laughter echoed across the Second Layer, heavy with pressure.
"I originally planned to mark Luca," Leon continued. "But the Seer bravely stepped forward to block my Abyssal Blood Severance."
He smiled.
"She has more value anyway. If she dies, we both know what happens next."
Leon possessed a special abyssal authority.
He could mark a target, and when the conditions were met, forcibly pull them to his side. A method designed to seize enemies at the worst possible moment.
Luca felt a chill run down his spine.
Bai Yue held the Heavenly Workings Eyes. Without her, his plans to dominate Blue Star would collapse completely.
His gaze snapped toward Jackie.
Jackie had not slowed down.
"Stop," Luca said coldly.
He waved his hand.
A crushing pressure descended instantly.
Jackie coughed violently, blood spraying from his mouth as his body was forced to halt midair.
"Federation Master," Jackie said coldly, barely holding himself upright. "What is the meaning of this?"
"Why are you stopping me?" he demanded. "My daughter is with him."
Viktor stepped forward with a heavy sigh.
"It is not only your daughter," he said quietly. "The Seer is with him as well."
His eyes hardened.
"At this moment, the Seer is more important than Valeria."
"...Valeria."
Bai Yue bit her lip silently.
She had not thought it through.
She had stepped forward instinctively, knowing that if that attack landed, something even worse would unfold.
But now, looking at the situation, she realized she might have made things worse instead.
Her eyes showed only fragments.
Vague, incomplete threads of possibility.
There was no way to predict events accurately without days of preparation. And now, the fate of the world was no longer fixed. It was constantly shifting, diverging, collapsing into uncertainty.
Because of that, her vision was being obstructed more than ever.
Fate itself was no longer absolute.
And for the first time in a long while, the Seer could do nothing but remain powerless.
"Release the Seer, Leon." Luca said icily.
"If you dare do something to her, then you know what will happen."
"Haha, don’t worry," Leon said lightly. "I won’t do anything to her."
He paused.
"Just yet."
The next moment, he snapped his fingers.
Crack.
Space fractured violently.
Leon, the AV, and everyone bound to him were dragged downward as the dimensional layers peeled apart. In an instant, they descended from the Second Layer into the First.
Whrmm!
They reappeared above the Western Region.
Leon glanced to the side. The battle was still raging. Explosions and energy surges lit up the skies as Federation forces clashed desperately against the High Order.
"Proceed with the plan," Leon said indifferently, his gaze sweeping across the region. "The others will need time to break the barrier as they descend from the Second Layer."
He smiled faintly.
"This is our window."
Below them, countless millions of citizens and evolvers stood frozen.
No one dared to speak.
No one even dared to breathe loudly.
They could only stare upward as overwhelming forces hovered above their world, deciding their fate without a word of consultation.
The Western Region no longer belonged to its people.
It had already fallen into the hands of the High Order.
All that remained was silent terror and the crushing realization that their lives, futures, and resistance meant nothing in the face of absolute authority.
"No!" Bai Yue shouted, panic breaking through her composure as she realized his intent. "You can’t do this."
"You monster," she cried. "If you wipe out the Western Region, everyone will die."
Her voice echoed.
Then stopped.
The figures around Leon turned to look at her.
Blank expressions.
And then laughter erupted.
Cold. Mocking. Unrestrained.
Bai Yue’s eyes widened as her heart clenched painfully.
These people were not human.
They were monsters.
Leon stepped closer to her, his expression bored, almost disinterested. Without a word, he raised his hand and pressed a binding mask over her mouth.
The seal activated instantly.
Her voice vanished.
And the Western Region waited, helpless, beneath the shadow of annihilation.
"Alright, let’s begin."
Leon grinned maniacally, the corners of his mouth stretching as if he had been waiting for this moment far longer than anyone else realized.
Before anyone could react, Leon turned his gaze toward Valeria.
She stood frozen, horror etched across her face, her body stiff as if an invisible hand had seized her from within.
Valeria tried to speak, tried to scream, but no sound came out.
Something unseen bound her throat and tongue, sealing her voice completely.
She did not know what they wanted from her.
But deep down, an instinctive certainty took root.
This would not end well.
"Take her to the Ice Wall."
Leon’s voice was calm now, almost casual, as he addressed Aron, Lena, and Ben.
His eyes lingered on Valeria for a brief moment before shifting to the grimoire hovering before him.
The pages flipped on their own, rustling sharply as glowing runes surfaced.
A beam of pale light shot forth and struck Valeria squarely in the chest.
Her body trembled violently, knees buckling as cold spread through her veins.
Yet, outwardly, nothing seemed to change.
No wounds.
No visible marks.
That made it far worse.
Aron, Lena, and Ben nodded without hesitation.
In the next instant, they vanished, dragging Valeria along as they shot into the distance like streaks of light.
Several minutes later, they arrived before the Ice Wall near the western region.
The towering frozen structure loomed like a divine barrier, radiating ancient pressure that made the air feel heavy.
As soon as they stopped, General Ben turned toward Valeria.
A wide grin spread across his face, eyes gleaming with amusement.
"Good luck, niece," he said lightly.
"If you succeed here, you’ll become a great puppet for Master Leon."
Before she could even process his words, Ben shoved her forward.
Valeria slammed into the Ice Wall.
To her disbelief, the wall did not resist.
Instead, it rippled like liquid and swallowed her whole the instant she made contact.
Boom.
The area trembled violently, frost cascading from the surface as cracks spread outward like veins.
The Ice Wall shuddered, responding to something deep within.
"The same bloodline as Brandon Everhart."
General Ben’s eyes flickered with sharp interest.
Valeria and Brandon shared the same origin.
Both were born from the Heavenly Flames.
That meant Brandon’s Origin Core, forged from the same source, could fuse with her.
If successful, she would ascend to the Fifth Rank.
And more importantly, the Ice Wall would dissolve.
Everything was proceeding exactly as Leon had planned.
"Aron, stay here."
Ben turned away from the wall after a moment of observation.
"Lena, we’re heading back."
The process had already begun.
Now, it was only a matter of time before the Ice Wall started to crumble.
The High Order was winning.
