Chapter 200: Ghostly flame

For a brief moment, everything and everyone seemed to be frozen in time. That was until the youths discovered that they could move and weren’t bound by the uncanny phenomenon that was unfolding.

The entire world went silent.

Almost in sync, everyone turned in the direction of the anomaly.

In the direction where Morgan stood.

For a brief instant, he could be seen staring at the distant sky with a seemingly unfocused gaze, then his figure was obscured by the darkness.

All around him, the darkness surged.

A massive form rose from the darkness, its sheer size dwarfing Morgan and completely obscuring him from view.

An invisible tremor ripped through the air at the figure’s appearance,e pushing back the kids.

"Veliscera?!" Lucian muttered in disbelief.

The dark giant had two massive dual horns that intertwined, ed forming an intricate spiral.

The massive giant took a massive step forward, the ground cracking in its wake. Its form swelled, its massive frame rapidly growing in size within a few moments until it towered over the water channel.

Kazarax let out a terrifying roar in challe, nge then strode forward.

The ground cracked in his wake, sending massive ripples through the water.

A shroud of impenetrable darkness followed in his wake, obscuring most of his gargantuan frame from view.

Several brilliant jagged veins ran along the length of his massive forearms, ending in cruel-looking jagged spikes.

" What the hell..."

A maddening dread spread throughout the crowd, freezing everyone in place except for one.

Anthony silently moved forward, coming to a stop at the very end of the crowd.

Seeing the massive Voidwalker in person was a truly humbling experience.

His lips curled into a nervous grin, his eyes shining with a maddened gleam.

"What a monster..."

Kazarax gestured with his claws, seemingly drawing something in the air.

At first, nothing happened.

But after a few moments, ripples of power slowly permeated the air.

From the darkness, several pillars of immolating white flames rose, flickering for a brief instant,t then morphing to a brilliant golden colour.

A perceptible heat erupted with the change, raising fierce clouds of scalding steam.

A shroud of darkness rose, enveloping Morgan’s form, almost entirely effectively shielding him from the immolating wave of heat.

The golden flames washed over the ground in all directions, moving with an almost liquid grace across the ground at an alarming speed.

The flames raced towards the crowd of youths.

Screams and pandemonium erupted at the approaching flames.

The Talented scrambled for cover.

The fire-type Elementals rushed to the front, desperately trying to control the waves of flames and failing.

It almost felt like the golden flames didn’t exist.

With a terrifying roar, the golden flames harmlessly washed over the Talented, surging forward almost as though they had a mind of their own.

The ghostly flames harmlessly passed over the frozen abilities, momentarily freezing in place for a brief moment, then trembled slightly and soared upward into the air unimpeded.

The swarm of Talented froze, watching the rising flames with shock.

Paying no attention to the stun̈ned kid, Kazarax was unraveling the nebulous web of sorcery that had been woven into the very foundation of the city.

Unraveling the entire wave web would have required an immense amount of power.

Observe that Morgan wasn’t capable of matching,g so instead he’d devised an ingenious

way of simply openingva small crack in the door rather than breaking through the entire door.

Morgan’s visage was slowly turning paler, his appearance becoming gaunter by the minute.

With an inhuman roar, the wall of roaring flames split into thin tendrils that soared into the sky with fiery brilliance.

The luminous tendrils soared high into the sky for a few moments, then collided with an invisible dome in a colorful explosion of brilliant golden flames that washed over the sky, pushing back the approaching darkness and instantly turning the night into day.

Morgan watched the explosion in silent awe.

Despite the waves of pain ravaging his body, the sorcerous clash was breathtaking.

Massive characters appeared in the sky, their brilliant turning his eyes an intense golden for a split second.

Fiery waves of liquid fire crawled across the sky, an intense heat washing over the youths below.

Billowing waves of heat swirled outward with increasing intensity.

The golden fire intensified, then slowly seeped into the massive characters, slowly overwriting them.

Giant translucent cracks appeared in the colourless dome spreading forward at a frantic speed visible to the naked eye.

The compressed vortex of wind, fire, and water that had been trapped in place began to shift, imperceptibly at first, and then began its arduous Rotation, spinning violently.

" Make a wall!"

The wind Elemental Talented immediately zipped through the air, forming a united front a short distance away from the raging typhoon.

A concentrated wall of wind steadily blew forward, pushing the wave of destruction away from the crowd of gathered Talented.

Within moments, giant fissures began to appear in the sky, rapidly widening to epic proportions.

Kazarax took a single step forward, then stepped into the air, the mantle of darkness around him billowing eerily in the ghostly wind.

The Void walker moved within the darkness, levitating in the darkness. He began to make several intricate features with his clawed hands, whistling through the air with practiced precision.

His hands deftly moved through the air, with the grace of a conductor directing a symphony, each gesture, every movement made deliberately.

In turn, the fiery tongues of flames fluidly moved in perfect synchronization with his movements, swirling and melding with the dome in an elusive pattern.

The flames zipped through the air, striking the merging nexus points of the exposed enchantment.

The darkness in the sky slowly receded, fading back and leaving the two pale moons in the pale sky exposed to the blinding radiance of the light for the first time in millennia.

The pale azure moon began to change, morphing to a bright translucent colour.

Its ethereal light began to shine with a renewed intensity, washing over the city in visible waves.

The ghostly moon began to change, too, taking on a foreboding crimson hue.

Lucian stared at the changing sky in disbelief, then turned to Morgan.

Morgan was unusually pale, his eyes shining with ghostly golden light. His gaze was focused upward on Kazarax and on the changes that were happening all around them.

Then the translucent dome began to shatter.

While the fissures in the dome resembled cracks in fine glass, the harrowing explosion that followed in their wake was anything but the gentle tinkling of breaking glass.

One explosion blew out an entire section of the ancient city.

With casual grace, Kazarax lifted his hand in a gentle flick, halting most of the explosion with a simple gesture.

Morgan’s face paled considerably at the effort.

A familiar dark figure appeared next to Morgan, standing next to the reeling youth.

"Kazarax, finish this, you’re too young to have so much power." 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

The nebulous figure hovering g in the sky picked up speed, his gangs blurring through the air.

Violent explosions rippled throughout the city, but this time Kazarx paid them no heed.

Anthony quickly realized what was happening, but even he was a split second too late. A massive explosion through the Talented back and destabilized the giant funnel of wind that the Elemental Types were funneling towards the distant wall.

In that brief moment, a few Talented lost their footing. Then slowly slid towards the raging g typhoon.

They activated their abilities, but the pure strength of the raging vortex was simply too harrowing, too devastating.

Continuous flashes of lightning thundered repeatedly within the tornado, exertion g sn inevitable pull on the Talented.

A familiar figure hustled past, swirling up into the air.

"Kelia..."

The Talented girl was undoubtedly unconscious, bleeding from a jagged cut on her temples.

Lucian’s body moved on its own, dashing forward at an incredible speed.

What the hell am I doing? Risking my life for a girl is just a matter. This sucks.

He jumped, reaching out for her, but every movement felt too slow, everything was happening so slowly.

Waves of force strained through the air, trying to reach them.

Lucian suddenly understood what was happening.

The Talented were trying g to use their abilities to rescue them, but the calamitous typhoon had gotten out of control.

So much so that it was repelling even their abilities.

The Talented can’t save us...

A harrowing realization suddenly flickered through his mind.

I’m not gonna make it.

He allowed the current to pull him forward, then grabbed onto the unconscious girl. They wildly flailed through the air, forming for a few brief moments.

Lucian closed his eyes, thinking about his life.

" This really sucks..."

A massive figure slammed into them, then, with inhuman strength, hurled them back.

Lucian’s eyes widened in surprise.

Cassius!

The smiling Talented flashed him a thumbs up, then flew past him into the harrowing cataclysm.

A powerful force latched onto them the moment they passed the typhoon’s sphere of influence.

Lucian stared in horror as Cassius was hurtled around the typhoon like some profane pendulum.

" CASSIUS!!!"
