Nightmare Assault-Chapter 369: Health Check Form
Chapter 369: Health Check Form
Behind the giant parking lot were two adjacent skyscrapers. The one on the left had seven floors, and there was a big sign that said Hua Ren Hospital at the top. The one on the left only had four floors. When he got closer, Jiang Cheng realised the majesty was just a facade. Aging and destruction were the real themes.
The cement floor of the parking lot cracked like an elder’s skin. Only the left building was open to the public. The right building was closed. Some of the lower floors had holes in the walls. They looked like malicious eyes staring at the approaching humans. There were barely any cars in the parking lot.
The group didn’t walk past the parking lot but walked from the side to enter the main building. When they passed by the guardroom, Fatty purposely glanced into the post. The place was empty. Other than a white book on the table, there was a large water glass with tea and half a pack of cigarettes.
Just as the group walked up the stairs, the glass door about five metres away opened. The two groups ran into each other.
“It’s you!” Hua Luo, who walked in front, was startled. Behind her were Banana Wolf and the reticent Wan Xiaoning. Jiang Cheng glanced at Banana Wolf’s backpack, where the big knife should be. Hua Luo was taller than Jiang Cheng. He stood on the top of the stairs. It made the latter uncomfortable. When they stared at each other, Jiang Cheng felt like he was looking down on him.
Chu Jiu had to say, “Why are you here too?”
“We found a clue and followed it here.” Banana glanced at them. “It looks like you did the same.” ƒгeewebnovёl.com
“Let’s walk and talk,” Jiang Cheng suggested.
The group of travellers entered the hospital. The place didn’t have many patients. The large lobby only had a few patients and their families.
When they heard Jiang Cheng’s story, the group from Building Two shared a look. “Yu Youwei?” Banana Wolf’s reaction was the largest. He turned to Chen Yi and asked loudly, “The ghost in your room is Yu Youwei?!”
Chen Yi nodded. Clearly, the group from Building Two was also investigating the female model. Banana Wolf wanted to continue, but he paused. He glanced at Wan Xiaoning. After all… she was the one who found it.
“We found a health check form inside the apartment’s mailbox.” Wan Xiaoning took out a folded piece of paper. She didn’t hand it over directly to Jiang Cheng’s group. “The mailbox is for Room 404.” Wan Xiaoning elaborated, “It was mailed to Song Jianyou. The form is for a woman called Yu Youwei. This is the location where the health checkup was performed.” She gestured bnehind her. “Hua Ren Hospital.”
Chu Jiu’s face dropped. Yu Youwei was from Building Two, but her physical form was mailed to Building Two’s Song Jianyou. It looked like the two were close.
“Wait.” Hua Luo suddenly remembered something and interrupted, “Are you sure the ghost in your room is called Yu Youwei?”
Jiang Cheng thought back to what the woman in Room 717 had said, and he nodded. “Yes.”
“Then, something’s not right.” Hua Luo frowned. He addressed Chen Yi, “Didn’t you say the ghost in your room had a pair of long, skinny legs?”
“That’s right?” Chen Yi nodded. The woman described Yu Youwei as a model with a perfect body and face. Many people were envious of her. What was wrong with that?
“But the report stated that Yu Youwei was greatly obese,” Hua Luo revealed. Jiang Cheng’s eyes froze. He accepted the form from Wan Xiaoning. He quickly scanned the bar for her body weight.
“240 pounds!” Fatty gasped. This was close to his weight. It didn’t sound like a tall model.
“Could… the ghost have lied to us?” Banana Wolf probed. He was suspicious because the two left the room unscathed. Plus, this ghost could be bribed. Either the ghost had lied to them, or… His eyes wandered around Chu Jiu and Jiang Cheng’s bodies. The meaning was clear. Hua Luo and Wan Xiaoning had the same reaction. The latter’s eyes glowed light blue as if she were wearing unique contact lenses.
Chu Jiu, who accompanied Jiang Cheng, shook her head. “I don’t think so.” She analysed, “If I were that ghost, I wouldn’t have lied on such an obvious detail.” Indeed, this was unusual.
“What does the doctor say?” Chen Yi whispered. Compared to before, Chen Yi’s presence had weakened greatly. Granted, she was injured, but she shouldn’t act like this. Wan Xiaoning casually studied her.
After a few hours, this sharp and smart woman appeared to have aged for decades. She had started to hunch over.
They had limited clues so the group decided to seek out the doctor directly. They assumed the witnesses would have forgotten everything but the bespectacled fat nurse nudged her glasses and looked at them. “Oh. This woman. I remember her.” The woman hesitated and looked around. She lowered her voice, “But isn’t she dead?”
“Yes.” Jiang Cheng sat across from her and stared at her. “But we suspect her death is not that simple. We’re from the supernatural investigation group.” Jiang Cheng narrowed her eyes. “You should know what that means.”
The nurse shivered. For some reason, she believed him. Of course, this was related to Jiang Cheng’s amazing acting.
The nurse thought about it and went to close the door. After she sat down, she had to calm down for a few seconds. “I have to be honest. That woman’s death is so suspicious. When she came for her health check, it almost frightened the staff to death.” The woman reminisced. “Back then, she was carried over by a few people. The woman looked so haggard. She could barely stand on her own.
“She looked so thin. At most, she was 100 pounds. But guess what!” The nurse gasped. “The weigh showed that she was 240 pounds!
“At first, we thought the scale was broken. However, we tried multiple scales, and they all said the same thing!” The nurse licked her lips. “We were stunned. All of a sudden, the woman cried. She cried so hard that she was inconsolable.
“She knelt on the ground and started to beg. She kept saying that she was wrong and telling… someone or something to stop riding on her neck!”
