Nine Nether Dragon Emperor-Chapter 326: Just a Dragon Transformation, Do I Need to Lie to You?
Ying Que sneered. "You old beast, I’m still alive and well. Disappointed, aren’t you!"
The two elder Jiaos’ eyes narrowed. A moment later, murderous intent flared in both of them.
Instantly, blood streamed from Ying Que’s seven orifices, yet his eyes held no trace of fear. He stubbornly stared down the two elder Jiaos.
"My son...!" his mother let out a piercing cry from the side, then fainted.
Almost simultaneously, THUD! A sword appeared in the ground before Ying Que, splattering his defiant young face with fresh blood. The elder Jiao that had been about to strike him crashed to the ground, sliced cleanly in two by the peerless edge of the Cloud Floating Sword as it descended from the heavens.
THUMP!
Without a second thought, the remaining elder Jiao dropped to its knees and prostrated itself on the ground. Its body trembled, and it didn’t dare breathe too loudly.
By now, a terrible premonition had dawned on it. From start to finish, that guy was probably just playing with us! The Dragon Transformation Method was a complete fabrication! It was all just a ploy to defeat us one by one!
At this moment, the sole remaining elder Jiao was filled with regret. If they hadn’t been deceived, their combined strength would have long since allowed them to dominate the situation. Instead, not only had they slaughtered their own descendants, but they had also cost themselves their own lives.
Damned humans! The elder Jiao’s heart surged with hatred, but it didn’t dare reveal the slightest hint of it. I don’t want to die!
"You’re clever to have figured it out," Ning Xuan’s voice sounded from ahead.
The elder Jiao’s heart turned to ash. This fellow was far more terrifying than they had ever expected.
Damn it! I’ll fight to the death! The thought had just taken root when Ning Xuan spoke again.
"Don’t worry, I won’t kill you."
Those words instantly extinguished the hard-won courage the elder Jiao had just mustered, replacing it with overwhelming gratitude.
"Thank you, my lord! Thank you!" it kowtowed repeatedly, tears of gratitude flowing freely.
Now that I’m alone, I stand almost no chance if I try to fight. The sword before me is simply too terrifying. Besides, the ultimate treasure of the Jiao lineage, the Ink Jade Pouch, is in his possession. If he can’t use it, that’s one thing, but if he can, not even my ashes will remain. Now that the man says he won’t kill me, my only choice is to bet on his word.
"Ying Que, go on. Let out all the grievances you’ve suffered over the years," Ning Xuan said, ignoring the creature and nodding his chin toward the boy.
"Yes!" Ying Que showed no fear or hesitation. As he spoke, his foot was already flying forward.
BANG!
Though Ying Que looked frail, a single kick was enough to send the elder Jiao sprawling.
Resist? I wouldn’t dare.
"You old beast! So your day has come!" Ying Que shouted, kicking it again and again.
"When you treated us as less than human, you never imagined you’d end up like this, did you!
"This kick is for my mother! As far back as I can remember, she was beaten and cursed four thousand, three hundred and sixty-nine times. Today, I’m going to pay you back for all of it..."
The elder Jiao curled up, hugging its head and mumbling in a muffled voice, "It had nothing to do with me!"
It felt incredibly wronged. I only saw Ying Que once when he was born. As for his mother, I have no idea who she is.
But Ying Que refused to listen. All the other beasts of the Jiao King’s Manor were dead. Who else was he supposed to take his anger out on?! 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
"Uh... D-Divine Being, I want to kick him, too," a burly man from behind stammered, raising his hand tremblingly, his eyes filled with hatred.
"My name is Ning Xuan. You can just call me that," Ning Xuan said. "Anyone who wants a piece can go ahead. If it dares to resist, I’ll beat it until it shows its true form, then I’ll skin it and pull out its tendons!"
At the same time, the Cloud Floating Sword let out a low hum. The old Jiao’s heart trembled, and it didn’t dare harbor any thought of disobedience or resistance.
After a moment of stunned silence, the rest of the crowd rushed toward the old Jiao like zombies unleashed from their cage. For some time after, the air was filled with a symphony of thudding fists and feet, roaring curses, and the piteous screams of the old Jiao.
By the time everyone was exhausted, what lay before them was a Jiao, forced back into its true form. Its body was a miserable sight, truly riddled with countless wounds. In contrast, many of the humans were still chewing. The old Jiao’s meat was incredibly tough; they had only been able to tear off pieces of its flesh before it reverted to its true form.
"Young Master, if this old Jiao was made into a soup, it would be very nourishing, right?" Zhongli Ruoruo sidled up, her mouth nearly watering as she stared at the bloodied creature.
"Please spare my life, my lord! You promised to let me live! I was just beaten half to death, and I didn’t resist at all... sob... sob..." the old Jiao wailed, its voice filled with fear and grievance.
"The meat is too tough; it wouldn’t taste good," Ning Xuan replied to Zhongli Ruoruo. "Besides, this is just a Jiao. When we eat, we’ll feast on real Dragon Meat."
As if granted a grand pardon, the old Jiao thanked him profusely. To it, preserving its life was more important than anything else right now.
"I have something to ask you." Ning Xuan’s voice suddenly sounded in its mind via spiritual transmission.
The Jiao hurriedly agreed.
"What’s the story with Ying Que? The way you all looked at him earlier... something was off."
"He is a demonic star!" the Jiao explained. "He was born to the Human Race, yet his birth triggered a celestial phenomenon! He can cultivate using both the energy of our Realm and the energy from Crystal Stones. Even the Jiao King was unable to seal his power. In the end, the four of us elders joined forces to place the Annihilation Array inside his body."
"The Annihilation Array?"
"An ancient and forbidden grand array. The moment he tries to cultivate, his body will begin to wither away until he is completely annihilated! Even if he doesn’t cultivate, as long as there is energy in the world, he would be annihilated within ten years at most. But he’s already twelve now, and his body shows no signs of withering. It’s inconceivable!"
"Hmm. Seeing as your attitude has been reasonably good, I’ve decided to give the Dragon Transformation Method some serious consideration."
The old Jiao was instantly electrified. "You... you can really help me achieve Dragon Transformation?!"
"It’s just Dragon Transformation. Why would I need to lie to you?"
For some reason, Ning Xuan’s indifferent words instantly convinced the old Jiao that he truly possessed such power. In the next moment, it transformed into its human shape and scrambled toward Ning Xuan on all fours, about to cling to his leg.
Ning Xuan shot it a look of disgust and sent it flying with a kick.
"Hehehe..." Getting up, dusty and disheveled, the old Jiao wasn’t angry at all. It just chuckled foolishly. Then, it turned to the crowd and thumped its chest loudly. "Although I never took part in those vile acts, if you all still haven’t vented your anger, feel free to come at me! I won’t transform back!"
I’m about to become a dragon! As long as I have a single breath left, I can recover instantly. Let them vent all they want!
"Damn it! The old beast is looking down on us! Get him!" a burly man roared, charging forward with his fist raised.
The others swarmed in after him.
Soon, the old Jiao’s utterly pitiful screams echoed through the area once more.
Ning Xuan, meanwhile, had turned his attention to examining Ying Que’s body. Activating his Divine Vein, a divine light bloomed in the depths of his eyes, allowing him to see through everything.
He saw the Annihilation Array the old Jiao had mentioned, and he saw that it was itself being annihilated. Unfathomably profound Dao Texts circulated within the youth’s body.
Strangely, one half of them shone with a resplendent divine brilliance, while the other half roiled with a towering Demonic Qi. The two types of Dao Texts were interwoven, locked in a struggle for supremacy. The Annihilation Array was being ground to dust by their conflict.
At that moment, sensing the outsider’s presence, the two sets of Dao Texts instantly ceased their battle and unleashed their formidable power in unison.
