No Substitutes for the Bigshots' Dream Girl Anymore!-Chapter 1907: Hayes Edwards Extra (64)
"I’m very clear-headed! Because he’s really handsome! Go, Hayes Edwards!"
Grace Winter tried several times but couldn’t get into the crowd, so she could only sit under the big tree on the side.
She rested her chin on her hand and watched quietly, not knowing why, just feeling that the distance between her and Hayes Edwards was so far.
Hayes Edwards was very popular, there were always people around him, would she seem superfluous?
Probably.
In the end, Hayes Edwards won this game, and the seniors of eighth grade were almost suppressed throughout.
The game had just ended when the teacher in charge of the basketball team extended an invitation to Hayes Edwards.
Originally planning to refuse, Hayes readily agreed once he heard he wouldn’t have to attend remedial classes.
As the crowd dispersed, Hayes Edwards’ gaze inadvertently fell at the tree at the side, empty, no one there.
The chubby guy came over and slapped his shoulder, "Brother Edwards, wanna play ball this Saturday?"
Hayes withdrew his gaze and bent down to pick up the backpack on the ground, slinging it over his shoulder, "Mm."
This was the last class of the morning, coincidentally being the physical education class.
When gathering for the lineup, Hayes’ gaze kept lingering on the soccer field down below.
Today, Grace Winter’s class was in PE as well, but he didn’t see her figure.
He only found out from the chubby guy that she was called by the teacher to help grade the midterm exams, "Helena said Grace got first place in every exam recently, and the teacher said her grades could stand in Dawn Light Middle School."
Casually, Hayes said, "Is Dawn Light really that great?"
The chubby guy nodded, "Dawn Light is the best middle school in our city, in the previous joint exams with other schools, our school’s top student was directly demolished." 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
Hayes sneered.
Joy Hoffman quickly added, "Of course, Grace’s grades are so good, she must be the one demolishing others!"
"Really?" Hayes said dismissively, "I think it’s just okay, just a primary student after all, are elementary school exams really that hard?"
Grace Winter is ten years old this year, attending fifth grade at Dawn Light Middle School, indeed a primary student.
The chubby guy mumbled beside him, "If elementary exams aren’t hard, why was it so difficult for me to pass back then?"
Joy Hoffman patted his head, "Maybe your brain wasn’t sharp enough."
Is that so?
The chubby guy was half-skeptical.
A basketball game made Hayes Edwards famous again throughout the middle school department, the flow of people at Class Six’s door increased dramatically, almost every break someone purposely walked past Class Six’s door just to catch a glimpse of Hayes Edwards.
Hayes’ seat was in the far back, Class Six’s classroom was against the wall, and at the end was a storage room, hard to find his seat unless you walked in.
The chubby guy went to the restroom, rushed back from outside, "Brother Edwards, you’re really famous now, someone even asked me for your contact info!"
Hayes looked up at him, "Did you give it?"
"Of course..." The chubby guy deliberately paused, received Hayes’ cold gaze quickly and added, "Of course I didn’t give it."
At the age of twelve or thirteen.
Maybe from one’s current perspective, it already seemed half-adult, but later when looking back, actually just a slightly naive kid.
In May, a weekend’s heavy rain took away all the hot air, the temperature dropped to the teens, the sun was completely gone, almost seven in the morning, and the sky was still overcast.
The wind blew the trees haphazardly, fallen leaves on the ground being swept up into the air, rain had already started falling from the sky.
