Not Being a Trainer This Time-Chapter 565 - 318: Infernal Pass, Slugma, Ghost (4000)_3
The lady muttered, "At dusk outside the village, shadows approach, be sure to stay alert.
Quickly put on a mask, do not reveal your face.
Whether the shadow is a person or a ghost, nodding with a covered face will let you pass.
If you didn’t bring a mask, just hope that shadow is human.
If the shadow is human, fortune is yours; never forget the mask again.
If the shadow is a ghost, doom awaits; being seen would lead to tragedy.
Once your soul is taken by a ghost, you’ll never return to the village again."
"This is an old village legend, they say someone once met a ghost on Ghost Mountain and never returned," the lady said seriously.
Naoki nodded thoughtfully.
He realized that the villagers seemed to fear that ghost greatly.
Was it because the ghost had killed three Loyal Three Pokemon?
After lunch, Naoki bid farewell to the lady.
With no plans for the afternoon, he could wander around the town as he pleased.
So, Naoki immediately rode Koraidon to Ghost Mountain, intending to visit the place called Infernal Pass to see if he could find a Slugma.
Having watched the animated short "The Slugma-Powered Home" before, Pawmot was very fond of the "puff puff" sounds made by Slugma.
Upon hearing Naoki mention that Slugma could be found there, Pawmot didn’t even want to go back into its Poke Ball.
Instead, it decided to stay outside, accompany Naoki into the mountain to find Slugma, make friends with it, and invite it to play at the ranch.
The range of Ghost Mountain was vast and lacked a specific map, so Naoki didn’t know the exact location of Infernal Pass.
To make the search easier, he directly rode Koraidon high into the sky to overlook the entire Ghost Mountain from above.
Pawmot also started flying, curiously looking around in all directions.
Before coming, the lady had told him that Infernal Pass was halfway up the western side of Ghost Mountain.
However, after searching for a long time, Naoki couldn’t pinpoint its exact location.
Frustrated, he could only let Koraidon randomly land on Ghost Mountain, planning to deduce the location of Infernal Pass based on the local Pokemon species and surrounding temperature.
Looking around, this area was mostly inhabited by Bronzor and Bonsly.
Bonsly, being very timid, turned around and fled in panic upon seeing them.
On the other hand, Bronzor was much bolder, floating mid-air with a tinkling sound, completely unfazed by the sudden appearance of Koraidon and Pawmot.
"No Fire Type Pokemon, and the temperature here is no different from the base of the mountain..." Naoki mused briefly, then seeing a waterfall above, said to Koraidon, "Let’s check above the waterfall."
"Gah-thss!"
Koraidon responded, exerting its strong legs and landing stably atop the cliff.
There was no sign of wild Pokemon here.
Amid the empty and quiet surroundings, Naoki felt a bit puzzled.
At this moment, Pawmot, floating in mid-air, seemed to have noticed something, uttering a puzzled growl, "Pawmot?"
"What is it?" Naoki turned his head, following Pawmot’s gaze, spotting a green figure peering from around the mountain corner.
Realizing it had been seen, the figure turned and fled, quickly disappearing into the cliff.
Naoki was slightly taken aback, was that... a villager living nearby?
