Novel's Extra: The Lost Heir of Dragon Queen-Chapter 66: The First Clash with Shadows
Kael stood in the camp, his voice commanding and firm.
"Run! All of you,"
The students froze, the weight of his urgency slicing through the chaos of the moment.
But before anyone could respond, a voice, smooth and mocking, echoed through the night.
"Where are you running?"
Kael’s head snapped upward.
Three figures hovered in the air above, cloaked in dark robes, their faces obscured by the shadows.
Their presence exuded a sinister energy that sent shivers through the gathered students.
"Who are you?" Shirone shouted, stepping forward with his sword unsheathed, the faint glow of his aura flickering around him.
He stood tall, unyielding despite the palpable menace.
One of the figures laughed, a sound that was both mocking and cold.
"Oh, little guy, your confidence is adorable."
The second figure chimed in, his voice dripping with derision.
"We’re your lovers. We care for you so deeply that we’ll send you straight to heaven, free of charge."
Before anyone could respond, Kael shot into the air, his body a blur of motion. His voice was low, dangerous, as he muttered under his breath,
"Dragon Form."
Kael’s transformation was immediate, his aura darkening as faint, translucent scales shimmered across his right hand.
His movements became faster, sharper, as he surged toward one of the figures—the mocking man with piercing red eyes.
Kael swung Aethral Fang with immense force, the blade crackling with raw energy.
But his opponent simply raised a hand, catching the sword with a barrier of dark magic.
"You’re strong," the man said, his tone impressed but amused. "But not strong enough."
BOOM
The man retaliated, unleashing a blast of dark energy that forced Kael to twist mid-air, barely avoiding the strike.
He spun, using the momentum to slash again, this time shattering the barrier.
The man’s smirk faltered slightly as Kael pressed the attack, his strikes relentless and precise.
The two other figures watched the fight with mild interest, but as the red-eyed man began to falter under Kael’s unrelenting assault, they started moving.
"Looks like he’s giving him a bit of trouble," the silver-haired man said, his tone casual.
"Should we step in?" He asked.
The third figure nodded, their grin widening.
"Let’s end this quickly." Third figure said.
As they began to move toward Kael, their path was suddenly blocked.
"Not so fast," Shirone growled, stepping forward with his sword drawn. Ren, Oliver, Claire, and three other students flanked him, their weapons and magic ready.
The silver-haired man raised an eyebrow.
"Oh, look at this. The little ants think they can fight back." He said.
Shirone didn’t wait for him to finish his taunt.
He charged, his sword igniting with a fiery glow as he slashed at him with incredible speed.
He parried with ease, but his smirk disappeared as Ren’s arrow zipped past his cheek, narrowly missing him.
"You’ll regret that," He hissed, summoning a wave of dark energy.
Meanwhile, Kael’s battle raged on.
The red-eyed man was fast—too fast. Despite Kael’s enhanced speed and strength in his dragon form, he found himself struggling to land a decisive blow.
They’re playing with me, Kael realized grimly.
Gritting his teeth, he muttered—
"Venezia Sanguis."
A dark, blood-red aura exploded around him, his movements becoming even faster, more fluid.
The power of the spell coursed through him, pushing him to new limits.
The red-eyed man faltered, his smirk fading as Kael’s attacks began to connect.
SLASH
A slash grazed his arm, and another strike forced him to raise his barrier again.
"You’re stronger than I expected," the man admitted, his tone more serious now.
CLACK-CLACK-CLACK-CLACK.
Kael didn’t respond.
He was a blur, his strikes coming from every angle, forcing the man onto the defensive.
The two remaining enemies found themselves blocked by the students.
Shirone’s ferocity led the charge, his blade clashing with the silver-haired Man’s magic-infused staff.

Ren rained arrows from the back, each shot precise and unrelenting, while Oliver and Claire darted around the battlefield, using magic to keep the enemy off balance.
On the other side, Lumia, Aveline, Elise, Lira, and Marcus faced the third figure—a hulking brute with a cruel grin.
CLACK
Lumia’s sword clashed with his axe, sparks flying as she pushed against his overwhelming strength.
Aveline and Elise flanked him, their spells aimed at his weak points, while Marcus used his strength to keep the brute from advancing further.
Lira, though injured, supported them.
Others students were injured so they are not able to help.
Kael knew he couldn’t drag the fight out any longer.
Even with Venezia Sanguis, he was burning through his energy too quickly.
’They’re toying with us, but if I fall here, everyone else will die,’ he thought grimly.
"Ahhhhh"
With a roar, he unleashed a massive wave of energy, forcing his opponent back.
He lunged forward, driving Aethral Fang toward the man’s chest.
The red-eyed man caught the blade with his hands, blood dripping as he struggled to hold it back.
"You’re insane," the man growled, his expression finally showing a hint of fear.
Kael smirked. "You have no idea."
The fight raged on, the students giving everything they had to hold the line.
Despite their efforts, it was clear they were outmatched.
The silver-haired man sent Shirone flying with a blast of energy, while the brute began to overpower Lumia’s group, forcing them to retreat.
THUD
Kael’s opponent broke free from his grip, landing a devastating blow that sent Kael crashing into the ground.
"Ugh"
As Kael struggled to rise, blood dripping from his wounds, he saw the two other enemies turning toward him.
The students were holding them off, but barely.
"We can’t win this," Kael realized, despair creeping into his thoughts.
’I have to end this Quick before rest of them came,’ Kael thought.
Kael’s breaths came in short gasps as the battlefield erupted into chaos.
The three enemies who had descended upon them moved like shadows, their speed and power overwhelming.
Shirone, Ren, and the others had engaged two of them, fighting with everything they had to hold them off...
