CLACK-CLACK-CLACK-CLACK

The fight was a blur of movement and energy, but Kael’s opponent was relentless, striking with a precision that made every block and dodge feel like a gamble with death.

Even with Venezia Sanguis, Kael could barely keep up, each exchange pushing his limits.

His dark magic lashed out in wild, violent bursts, but the figure before him only grinned, treating the fight like a game.

"Is this all you’ve got, little dragon?" the man sneered.

Kael’s jaw tightened as he launched forward again, slashing with his sword.

Aethral Fang glowed ominously in his hand, its whispers urging him on.

CLACK-CLACK-CLACK-CLACK

The two clashed in a storm of sparks and power, but just as Kael managed to gain a foothold, a chilling voice rang out across the battlefield.

"YOU MIGHT BE KAEL."

Kael froze mid-swing, his blood turning cold.

The voice came from behind him, smooth and confident.

He turned his head slightly and saw them—dozens of figures emerging from the darkness like specters.

The rest of their group had arrived.

Kael’s heart sank as he took in their overwhelming presence.

Almost 30 more figures surrounded the battlefield, their auras suffocating.

Each one radiated a power of atleast Demigod(5)

And at the center of them all was someone even greater.

The leader, cloaked in a shimmering black mantle, hovered above the rest, their aura like a storm pressing down on everything.

Empyrean (4)

Their face was obscured, but their smile was sharp, cruel, and mocking.

"How am I supposed to survive this?" Kael whispered, his voice trembling as the weight of the situation crushed him.

"How am I supposed to save everyone?"

The faces of his friends flashed through his mind—Shirone, Lumia, Lira, Ren, Oliver, and the others.

Each of them was fighting with everything they had, their bodies already pushed to the brink.

This isn’t supposed to happen.

I caused this.

Their deaths will be because of me.

His hands shook, his grip on Aethral Fang loosening.

He could feel the hope draining from his body, leaving behind only a suffocating void of despair.

And then, a voice broke through the darkness in his mind.

"Kael," his mother’s voice whispered from a distant memory, "when the odds are stacked against you, remember this: fear doesn’t decide your fate. Courage does. Even if your hands tremble, even if the world seems to end, stand tall and fight. Because sometimes, courage is the only thing keeping the world from breaking."

Kael’s eyes snapped open, the trembling in his hands replaced by a cold determination.

He tightened his grip on Aethral Fang, his aura shifting, growing darker and more volatile.

Kael lunged toward the most powerful figure in the group, his voice a low growl as he muttered,

"Dark Void."

The world around him shifted.

Shadows erupted from his body, coiling like serpents as they consumed the battlefield.

Visibility vanished, the darkness swallowing everything in its path.

"Venezia Sanguis," Kael hissed, his voice resonating with power.

His body moved like a phantom, the darkness cloaking him as he launched toward the leader.

His sword gleamed in the void, a sliver of light cutting through the abyss.

He struck with all his strength, aiming for the heart of the Empyrean(4).

But just as his blade was about to connect, it stopped.

The darkness shattered like glass, and Kael was thrown back, skidding across the ground as the Empyrean stood unharmed.

"Good trick," the figure said, their voice dripping with amusement. "But not good enough."

Before Kael could recover.

ZIMP!

A blast of energy shot toward him, aimed directly at his chest.

He braced himself, but the impact never came.

Instead, Lira stood in front of him, her bow drawn, her body shimmering with protective magic.

"Kael!" she shouted, her voice strained.

"Focus! You’re not dying on me yet!"

She fired a dagger infused with light, its brilliance cutting through the darkness.

STAB!

It struck one of the attackers, forcing them to retreat momentarily.

But the effort drained her, and before she could nock another dagger, one of the figures appeared behind her.

"Lira!" Kael screamed, but it was too late.

SLASH

The figure’s blade pierced through her back, the sound of steel cutting flesh echoing across the battlefield.

Lira gasped, blood trickling from her lips as her knees buckled.

She turned her head slightly, her eyes meeting Kael’s.

"Stay alive," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "Save them…tell my little brother that I love him"

THUD!

Her body fell limp, crumpling to the ground.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhh....

Kael’s scream tore through the battlefield, a sound of pure anguish and rage.

He charged forward, his sword ablaze with dark energy.

But another blast of power sent him flying back.

Before he could rise, another figure stepped forward, their blade aimed at his heart.

"Not today!" Oliver roared, slamming into the attacker with his shield.

The force of the impact sent both of them tumbling, but Oliver quickly regained his footing.

He stood in front of Kael, his shield raised, his body battered and bloodied.

"You’re not taking him," Oliver growled, his voice fierce.

"Hahaha"

The attacker laughed, their strikes relentless as they battered Oliver’s shield.

CLACK

Despite the onslaught, Oliver held his ground, his determination unwavering.

But the cracks in his shield began to grow, and his movements slowed.

With one final strike, the enemy’s blade shattered his defense, piercing through his armor.

SLASH.

"Ughh"

Oliver coughed, blood spilling from his lips, but he smiled weakly as he turned his head toward Kael.

THUD!

His body fell, his shield clattering to the ground beside him.

Kael knelt in the dirt, his body trembling with rage and grief.

Lira and Oliver’s lifeless bodies lay before him, their sacrifices burned into his memory.

"This is because of me," he whispered, his voice shaking. "Because I wasn’t strong enough…"

But then his mother’s words echoed in his mind again: "Courage decides your fate."

Kael’s aura surged, his power erupting as he rose to his feet. The battlefield trembled beneath him as shadows and light coalesced around his body.

He wasn’t giving up. Not yet.

Just then—

Everyone felt it as Kael turned towards Lumia.

Her dark Aura radiating in every direction.

"JUST TOUCH HIM,".

Everyone one felt it lumia Aura was increasing at a high speed...
