On Our Wedding Day My Husband Announced His First Love Online-Chapter 159: So the Girl I’ve Had a Crush on for Over 10 Years Likes Me Too
"Well, that’s a bit strange..." the doctor sighed softly. "Logically, that shouldn’t be the case..."
Hearing what the doctor said, I suddenly became a little unsure myself. "How about I go and confirm it again?"
"Alright. I’ll wait for your news, Miss Joyce."
"Goodbye, Dr. Donovan."
After I hung up the phone, Sebastian Forrest finally spoke. "I remember your brother wanted you to get back together with Theodore Grant... What? Don’t you think this is a bit abnormal?"
I nodded quickly. "You think it’s abnormal too, right?"
Sebastian Forrest chuckled and gave my palm a gentle squeeze. "If it weren’t for the fact that he’s my brother-in-law, I would have dealt with him long ago!"
"Sebastian Forrest!" Seeing him spouting nonsense again, I couldn’t help but glare at him.
Sebastian Forrest immediately broke into a smile, his lazy voice laced with a tender, teasing tone. "This definitely has something to do with Theodore Grant. He must have something on your brother."
’He wouldn’t be acting as Theodore Grant’s mouthpiece otherwise.’
I couldn’t help but frown. "But in my brother’s current state, I won’t be able to get anything out of him..."
"What? Thinking of going to find Theodore Grant?" Sebastian Forrest said with a half-smile.
As he said this, his eyes were fixed on me, as if waiting for a single word or even half a glance to soothe his teetering heart.
A wave of warmth washed over my heart. No one had ever cared so much about my feelings before.
’Sebastian Forrest is the only one...’
I collected myself, smiled, and shook my head. "Even if I went and asked, Theodore Grant definitely wouldn’t tell me anything."
Up close, I saw Sebastian Forrest let out a visible sigh of relief.
I was both amused and speechless, but at the same time, a lump formed in my throat.
With Sebastian Forrest, I had truly felt cherished, pampered, and happy. But it seemed I hadn’t given him even the most basic sense of security, which was why even something so small could make him this anxious.
"Sebastian Forrest."
Hearing me say his name, Sebastian Forrest instinctively looked up, his gaze meeting mine.
"Actually, the one I first fell for was the boy who protected me with his school uniform during gym class. He was the one who gave me my first crush..."
Sebastian Forrest froze completely. It was the first time I had ever seen such an almost blank expression on his face.
I couldn’t help but take a deep breath. I was a bit embarrassed by my sudden confession, and even the tips of my ears felt hot. "So... do you understand what I’m saying?"
Sebastian Forrest stared at me for a long moment. Just as I was growing anxious, thinking I had misread the situation, he suddenly burst out laughing—a loud, uninhibited, joyous laugh.
"I understand!" Sebastian Forrest reached out and pulled me into his arms. He looked down at me, his smile tender and the curve of his lips impossible to suppress. "My Chelsea likes me. She liked me from the very beginning."
Our bodies were pressed so tightly together that I could clearly feel the vibrations from his laughter and his words.
Then, Sebastian Forrest picked me up and spun me around a few times. Panicked by the sudden feeling of weightlessness, I clung tightly to his neck, afraid I would fall.
When my feet were back on the ground, I gently tapped his shoulder. "You scared me to death."
Sebastian Forrest rested his forehead against mine, the smile in his eyes so wide it seemed to be overflowing. "Do you have any idea how happy I am right now? The girl I’ve had a secret crush on for over ten years likes me back..."
"There’s nothing in this world that could make me happier!"
Sebastian Forrest’s large hand rested on the back of my neck, his breath coming in hot, slightly ragged pants. "I’m not dreaming, am I?"
"No."
Sebastian Forrest took my hand, brought it to his lips, and pressed a warm kiss to my fingers. Under his scorching-hot gaze, I felt the tips of my fingers tingle as if they’d been electrified, a numbness spreading through them.
"You’re right. I wouldn’t even dare to dream of this," Sebastian Forrest sighed contentedly.
"You..." I was momentarily speechless, my eyes stinging.
’This man has been a golden child since birth, adored by all. But ordinary people only see his carefree, rebellious nature; they never see the loneliness behind it all.’
’From beginning to end, he had never truly had anyone to call his own.’
"Well, from now on, you can."
Sebastian Forrest didn’t say anything, simply reaching out to hold me in his arms.
For a moment, the office was strangely silent, yet also incredibly peaceful.
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK!
Just then, a knock came from the office door. I quickly struggled out of Sebastian Forrest’s embrace. "Someone’s here."
But Sebastian Forrest just pulled me back into his arms, his usual rebellious and casual demeanor returning. "What are you afraid of? We’re registered. We’re a legally married couple."
Before I could even say a word, he had already called out, "Come in."
Seeing that I couldn’t break free, I simply buried my head in Sebastian Forrest’s chest—and played dead.
"President Forrest." At a time like this, Henry Paxton showed the professionalism befitting a special assistant. He didn’t dare to cast a single stray glance to the side, keeping his eyes fixed intently on Sebastian Forrest. "We couldn’t trace the person who bought the trending topic. The trail went cold at an overseas account."
Sebastian Forrest couldn’t help but sneer. "This fox is quite good at hiding its tail!"
"What’s the next step? Should we continue the investigation?" Henry Paxton asked.
"No need. You can go for now."
"Yes, President Forrest."
When I heard the office door click shut, I tentatively lifted my head from Sebastian Forrest’s chest. Seeing that it was indeed just the two of us in the office, I let out a soft sigh of relief.
"My dear Mrs. Forrest, we’re a legally married couple. Why are you being so sneaky?"
I gave Sebastian Forrest an annoyed look, ignoring the teasing in his tone. "I want to go see William Westwood."
The smile on Sebastian Forrest’s face faded slightly. After a moment of thought, he said, "Alright. I’ll go with you."
"Okay."
I had originally thought it wouldn’t be so easy to arrange a meeting with William Westwood on my own initiative, but to my surprise, he agreed quite readily.
When we arrived at the appointed location, we saw that William Westwood was already there.
"Mr. Westwood, hello."
William Westwood was still in his wheelchair, but with the weather growing colder, a thin, dark gray blanket was draped over his knees.
"Mr. Forrest, Mrs. Forrest, I wonder what you wanted to see me about?"
’I have to admit, he’s pretty well-informed.’
The news that Sebastian Forrest and I had registered our marriage was only something he’d posted on his Moments, and it was just a picture of the marriage certificate cover.
Yet William Westwood knew that the other person was me, which just went to show how well-informed he was.
"Does Mr. Westwood not know why we’re looking for him?" Before I could speak, Sebastian Forrest, who was beside me, spoke up with a half-smile.
William Westwood chuckled lightly, but his gaze landed on me. "It’s about your brother, isn’t it?"
