On Our Wedding Day My Husband Announced His First Love Online-Chapter 80: Paternity Test Report
"Why are you down so late?" Sebastian Forrest’s gaze shifted. When he looked at me, a hint of a smile touched his eyes. "Hungry?"
I nodded. "Yeah, a little..."
"I booked a table at Sage’s Pavilion. They’ve developed some new dishes recently that are pretty good. Let’s go try them."
But before I could respond, Julian Hayes suddenly cut in, "Sage’s Pavilion? Isn’t that a bit far? The round trip would take an hour."
"Joyce, how about you come with me to the Western restaurant next door? They just got a new head chef who’s supposed to have worked at a five-star Michelin restaurant..."
The moment he said that, Sebastian Forrest’s face turned cold. His eyes were dark and deep, like a bottomless well, frigid and devoid of any warmth.
They locked eyes for only a moment, but I could feel the atmosphere suddenly grow oppressive. It was like I could faintly smell gunpowder in the air.
"Julian Hayes, is it?" Sebastian Forrest suddenly smiled, but the smile didn’t reach his eyes in the slightest. "You know the saying ’first come, first served,’ right? If not, I can teach you!"
I don’t know if it was because of his background at the research institute, but even though he was dressed in casual clothes and had a lazy, laid-back posture, his eyes held an aggressive edge and he radiated a powerful aura.
But Julian Hayes just chuckled. "It’s just a dinner invitation. Why would ’first come, first served’ apply? It’s all up to what Joyce wants..."
With that, he turned to me. "Joyce, want to go give it a try?"
Even if I were incredibly dense, I would have sensed that something was off between the two of them by now.
Both men were tall and long-legged. Their imposing figures reflected in the glass, looking for all the world like they were about to go head-to-head.
"Thanks, Hayes, but I think I’ll go with Senior Forrest. We already made plans, after all..."
Julian Hayes pressed his lips together, then suddenly smiled. "Alright. We’ll set a date some other time, then."
After we watched Julian Hayes leave, Sebastian Forrest suddenly said, "Stay away from him from now on. That guy has bad intentions toward you."
I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. "Don’t be ridiculous. We’re just regular colleagues."
But Sebastian Forrest just gave a cold laugh. "That’s not what he’s thinking."
He didn’t dwell on it, though, and immediately changed the subject. "Let’s not talk about unimportant people. Come on, let’s get something to eat. And I have some news to share with you that I just got."
The mention of news immediately perked me up. I nodded eagerly and trotted after him into the car.
As the car sped down the road, I couldn’t hold back any longer. "So, what’s the news? Who is it about?"
Sebastian Forrest glanced at me, the corners of his lips curling into a smile. He then tipped his chin slightly, gesturing in front of me. "There’s a file in the glove compartment in front of you. Open it and you’ll see."
I quickly did as he said and opened the glove compartment. Sure enough, there was a manila folder inside.
After eagerly opening the folder, I found a photocopy of a DNA paternity test report inside.
"This is..."
I froze, my eyes instinctively scanning for key information. The moment I saw the name ’Theodore Grant,’ I instantly understood what this document was.
"It’s the report from the prenatal paternity test Clara Langley had done. I had someone make a copy for me."
As if I’d suddenly thought of something, I quickly flipped to the last page and saw the words—
[Paternity Affirmed: Consistent with genetic laws, probability of parentage is greater than 99.999999...%]
’Just as I thought!’
I immediately turned to Sebastian Forrest. "It’s just as you predicted."
Sebastian Forrest smiled, turning to look at me with a slight curve of his lips. "There’s more. Keep looking."
I paused, surprised, and quickly flipped further. Sure enough, there was another DNA paternity test report underneath. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
And the sample name on this one was also ’Theodore Grant’!
"What’s going on?" I asked, completely baffled. "Did you make two copies? What’s with this one?"
The playful curve of Sebastian Forrest’s lips remained. "Pay close attention, little junior. The second one isn’t a photocopy."
At his reminder, I quickly looked down. Sure enough, I saw the red official seal of the testing facility in the top-right corner of the second DNA paternity test report.
’This is...’
’The original?’
In that instant, something shot through my mind like a bolt of lightning. My heart began to pound. I frantically flipped the report to the last page, where the final line was written in stark print—
[Not consistent with genetic laws, probability of parentage is less than 9.999999...%, no biological relationship.]
"No biological relationship!" I couldn’t help but gasp.
Everything before this had just been speculation.
But now, this DNA paternity test report confirmed my suspicions!
The baby in Clara Langley’s belly really is Vincent Lombard’s!
’How could Clara Langley dare to do something like this?’
’Not only was she cheating on Theodore Grant, but the person she was cheating with was Vincent Lombard—the man Theodore saw as a benefactor!’
’I’m starting to wonder if Theodore Grant slaughtered Clara Langley’s entire family in a past life for her to be so ruthlessly vengeful toward him in this one.’
"What’s wrong? Cat got your tongue?"
Seeing that I hadn’t spoken for a while, Sebastian Forrest’s lips curved into a smile. His dark eyes glittered as if sprinkled with diamond dust.
"Yeah." I nodded. "I’m definitely stunned..."
My earlier suspicions were one thing, but they weren’t this shocking.
But now, with this DNA paternity test report in my hands, it was impossible not to be shocked.
However—
"How did you get this report?" I quickly looked at Sebastian Forrest.
’It seems the first report must be a forgery.’
’And it’s pretty obvious who forged it.’
’But the second one is the original...’
"I had someone use Theodore Grant’s sample to run a DNA paternity screen. That so-called sample of Theodore’s was probably Vincent Lombard’s."
’I knew it!’
I quickly stuffed the reports back into the folder. "We need to keep this safe. Once I get the divorce certificate from Theodore Grant, I’ll show this to my big brother."
Sebastian Forrest smiled, his expression both playful and indulgent. "Alright, whatever you say. Just keep it safe."
I quickly hugged the folder to my chest—’I absolutely have to keep this safe!’
The previous audio recording of Clara Langley and Vincent Lombard’s affair and this DNA paternity report were irrefutable proof!
When the time comes, no matter how silver-tongued Clara Langley is, she won’t be able to twist the truth!
