Chapter 183 -183: Being Hugged and Walking

Seeing her mistake his intention as wanting her to treat, Ye Yiheng offered no explanation.

Well, that worked out, she would be able to stay at the inn tonight with a clear conscience.

Shopkeeper quickly instructed the waiter, “Why haven’t you shown our guests to their seats yet?”

The waiter shook off the towel over his shoulder, pointed to the menu on the wall, and made a welcoming gesture with his hand: “Please take a seat, guests! Our inn has quite a few specialty dishes.”

Song Guo helped Ye Yiheng to a seat first.

Leng Yu Yan pulled Miao Zhu to sit at another table directly.

Mo Chen and Ruofeng each took a seat opposite the Crown Prince and Song Guo.

The waiter, seeing the six guests seated at two separate tables, thought it convenient as he could sell more food and drinks, and asked with a smile, “What would everyone like to order?”

Leng Yu Yan was the first to speak up: “Two servings of each of your specialty dishes for your store, and put their table on my tab.”

“Right away!” the waiter said cheerfully as he turned to head for the kitchen.

Before long, the food arrived, heaping up the table.

Ye Yiheng picked up his chopsticks, and it was only then that Mo Chen and his companions followed suit.

After a few bites, Mo Chen murmured, “No alcohol.”

Upon hearing this, Miao Zhu glared at them.

Leng Yu Yan acted as if she hadn’t heard; she couldn’t hold her liquor and preferred not to drink when away from home.

Although they hadn’t ordered drinks, the food was ample and complete.

A hint of a smile crossed Ye Yiheng’s lips. When it came to drinking, she certainly knew her limitations.

At that moment, Song Guo said, “We have a journey ahead of us tomorrow; it’s good not to drink.”

But Ruofeng objected, “With beef and mutton, how can we not have alcohol?”

Miao Zhu responded with slight anger, “If you want to drink, order it yourselves and put it on your own tab.”

Leng Yu Yan ate quickly, with no intention of lingering.

What was the purpose of this blind man’s sudden visit? Could he be here for her again?

Her mood turned gloomy in an instant, and seeing that they were all looking at her, she slightly furrowed her brow and said in a cool voice, “If you gentlemen wish to drink, order whatever you like, just as before, put it on my tab.”

Ruofeng gestured for the waiter and ordered several jugs of wine.

When the wine arrived, they began to drink.

Mo Chen held up his cup, and with a taunting raise of his eyebrows to Miao Zhu, he said, “Little brother, see how generous your master is.”

Miao Zhu frowned and hesitated to speak to Leng Yu Yan: “Master…”

Leng Yu Yan shook her head slightly: “Eat your meal, then rest.”

Midway through the meal, the shopkeeper brought over two jugs of wine, placing one on each table.

He smiled and said, “The wine you ordered earlier was all Tiancheng Famous Wine, a rarity of true affection in this world. To even out the room charge, I’m gifting you our local homemade wine, so you can taste some of our local flavor.”

Looking at the unassuming jug in front of them and considering her mistress’s low alcohol tolerance, Miao Zhu quickly asked, “Does this wine intoxicate?”

The shopkeeper shook his head with a smile, “Not at all, not in the slightest.”

Miao Zhu and Leng Yu Yan would later find out that the local custom here was robust, treating drinking wine like drinking water. But, that’s another story.

Mo Chen uncorked the wine jug and took a sniff, “Good wine.”

He promptly filled Ye Yiheng’s cup, and poured one for Ruofeng and Song Guo as well. Then he stood up, walked over to Leng Yu Yan to pour her wine, but Miao Zhu stopped him.

Mo Chen laughed: “Throughout our journey, we’ve eaten together, but tonight’s meal has been the most to my taste. I must thank the young master, as after all, it’s the young master who is treating us. Also, on behalf of my master, I would like to toast the young master.”

As he spoke, he moved the wine jug forward, but Miao Zhu still blocked him.

“For our master, I’ll pour,” Miao Zhu said, as he picked up the jug from his own table and poured half a cup for both Leng Yu Yan and himself.

“That’s fine too!” Mo Chen returned to his seat and lifted his cup.

Ye Yiheng, too, raised his cup, nodding slightly in the direction from which Leng Yu Yan’s voice had come.

Seeing that all four of them had drunk, and even Miao Zhu had sipped the wine, Leng Yu Yan picked up her cup and drained it in one gulp.

The drink was smooth to the taste, not choking at all.

But as it passed through, it felt as if it were on fire.

Soon afterward, the person in front began to blur and double; the aftereffects of the alcohol were incredibly strong.

And they came on too quickly, too violently!

Leng Yu Yan shook her head and reached out to pull Miao Zhu, “Let’s head back to our room first.”

“Little… Master…” Miao Zhu stood up, her mind still clear enough to remind herself to call him “Master,” but the drunkenness in her movements was evident.

Leng Yu Yan’s tolerance was even less than Miao Zhu’s, already unable to stand up when pulled by her.

The surroundings became a blur, only hearing Song Guo telling Ye Yiheng, “Sir, the little master seems to be drunk.”

No sooner had the words fallen than Leng Yu Yan slumped softly onto the table.

Meanwhile, Miao Zhu swayed and then sat back down, closing her eyes and soon leaned toward the table.

“The Shopkeeper lied, this wine is too intoxicating, too intoxicating…”

Mo Chen laughed again, “This young brother falls asleep drunk and still mutters a complaint, how adorable indeed.”

Hearing that someone was drunk, the Shopkeeper called over a few servants, “These two guests are drunk, take care as you carry them to their rooms.”

Ye Yiheng, with sharp ears, heard the servants quietly discussing who would support whom and who seemed lighter.

He frowned lightly and spoke up to stop them, “No need to trouble yourselves, these two are already acquainted with us, we’ll escort them to their rooms.”

The Shopkeeper nodded, “That is well, then we’ll trouble you!”

Once the Shopkeeper left, Ruofeng whispered, “Sir, we don’t have to be so kind-hearted. Didn’t you see that the little master’s servant looks rather sturdy? He must be no lightweight.”

Ye Yiheng stood up straight, guided by the direction of the voice he’d just heard, and pulled Leng Yu Yan up from her seat.

His large hand wrapped around her slender waist, and he turned his head to direct, “Song Guo, lead the way. For the other one, you help.”

Song Guo got up and began to show the way.

Mo Chen and Ruofeng, looking at the servant who was still lying on the table, exchanged glances, seeing disdain in each other’s eyes.

A teenager, asking them for help?

They were not willing!

“Brother Ruofeng, please!”

“Brother Mo Chen, please!”

After much deferring back and forth, Ye Yiheng, who had already reached the stairs, could no longer bear it and coldly intervened, “She is Miao Zhu.”

At those words, both men were astounded.

If the servant before them was Miao Zhu, then the Lady Yu Yan was the one their Highness had been embracing?

My goodness, how did they not notice?

Full of doubt, the two men helped Miao Zhu up from the table, scrutinizing her face closely.

The nearby customers at several tables began casting looks as if they were witnessing lunatics.

“Staring at a young lad not much younger than themselves, no need for such expressions, right?”

“It’s as if they’re trying to see some pattern on the young brother’s face.”

“These two are decently good-looking, staring like that, they must have some issues?”

Hearing this, Ruofeng and Mo Chen felt a chill in their hearts, and while each holding an arm of Miao Zhu, they quickly escorted her up to the upstairs room.

Placing Miao Zhu on a chair in the room, Mo Chen lifted the lamp while he and Ruofeng examined the “servant’s” face closely.

After a long while, they finally noticed a fine crack behind her ear.

This was the seam of a Human Skin Mask!

“To tear it off or not?” Mo Chen asked.

Ruofeng frowned slightly, “It wouldn’t be appropriate.”

Mo Chen analyzed, “What if His Highness was wrong in his judgment.”

These past few days, the Crown Prince was incapable of seeing clearly.
