Chapter 376: Chapter 376: Storm of Cement, Fire, and Thunder

As the Allied Shinobi Forces approached the World Government army’s defense lines, the heavy machine guns inside the bunkers were the first to open fire, spewing out streams of bright muzzle flashes from their firing slits.

A hail of large-caliber, red-hot bullets rained down with deafening roars, forming overlapping webs of crossfire aimed at the advancing shinobi army.

The well-prepared shinobi each responded with their own techniques.

Some relied on instinct and Body Flicker to dodge, while others used Wind Style, Lightning Style, or Fire Style to fend off the incoming barrage.

A few even coordinated to launch small-scale combination jutsu as a counterattack.

But the results were far from ideal.

The metal storms unleashed by those heavy machine guns still managed to mow down shinobi mid-charge in an instant.

And to make matters worse, the fifty heavy grenade launchers in the rear began a second wave of shelling.

Even with Earth-Style Wall and similar jutsu used for defense,

the shockwaves and sonic booms produced by those blasts were enough to hurl people into the air or leave them stunned.

And that wasn’t all—

As the two sides drew closer, the army’s mortars and rocket launchers also joined the bombardment.

Some soldiers who hadn’t been affected by the Earth Release users—

Also raised their heavy assault rifles and fired wildly at the enemy outside.

Their goal was simple: unload every last bullet and grenade as fast as possible.

And then, draw the long swords strapped to their backs and charge in to finish off the remaining enemies.

"Looks like things are getting a little dire over here!"

"They’re nearly at our doorstep already. At a time like this, as a proud member of the World Government, isn’t it only natural that I lend a helping hand?"

Teach casually tossed aside the lifeless shinobi corpse in his hand.

After scanning the situation around him—

He let out a booming laugh. "Zehahahaha!"

Then his eyes gleamed with malicious intent as he turned to face the desperate Allied Shinobi Forces still struggling to advance.

Today, he would use their blood and lives to pave a path of military merit straight to the upper ranks.

With that thought—

Teach bent his knees, then burst into motion with a powerful leap. The ground beneath him instantly exploded from the force.

[Boom!]

In the blink of an eye, he came crashing down heavily at the front of the first trench line.

The tremendous impact caused the surrounding gravel to rise up into towering walls of sand.

Meanwhile—

Bullets continued to whistle past him, slicing through the air at breakneck speed.

But far from feeling threatened, Teach grinned in delight.

Even though the construction site was always noisy and chaotic—

He still preferred the roar of gunfire and the cries of war.

It couldn’t be helped.

His dream had already been shattered.

Even if the Yami-Yami no Mi were placed right in front of him now,

all he could do was look at it, touch it, kiss it a little...

Aside from covering it in saliva, he couldn’t do a damn thing with it.

And with no chance of leaving the World Government right now—

He could only give himself a new dream:

To rack up enough military achievements.

In exchange for his military merit, he would obtain at least a duke-level title—and live a king’s life within his own domain.

So, he had to leave the Construction Department.

And find a way to rise to the rank of general in the army!

"I must seize this rare opportunity to make a name for myself—let the top brass of the military remember the name Marshall D. Teach!"

Teach’s towering figure began to disintegrate at a visible rate into gray-white powder.

He no longer intended to hide his strength.

He immediately unleashed the power of his Special Paramecia: the Cement-Cement Fruit.

A massive plume of powdered cement erupted from his body—

His entire figure transformed into a raging storm of dust, surging toward the Allied Shinobi Forces.

From a distance, it looked like an overwhelming sandstorm of gray-white ash swallowing the golden desert.

The army soldiers inside the bunkers and trenches immediately stopped firing.

Not only out of shock—

But because their vision was heavily obscured.

They instinctively released the triggers of their machine guns.

On the other side, the shinobi—already battered and bloodied—saw the massive wave of cement dust approaching and instinctively froze, faces filled with panic and confusion.

They didn’t know what it was—

But they could tell it wasn’t anything good.

"Poison gas?"

A asked, uncertain and wary.

Then turned to Hanzo beside him—after all, he was the poison expert here. freewebnøvel_com

"It’s not gas. It’s a kind of dust."

Hanzo squinted and quickly saw through it: "But whether it’s gas or not, we can’t let it get close. Try Wind Release!"

"Got it!"

Soon, at A’s command, the Wind Release specialists stepped forward and launched a coordinated Wind Release technique—

In an instant, a raging whirlwind swept up the desert sands and slammed into the approaching cement cloud.

But just as the two forces were about to collide—

The latter suddenly gathered together, condensing into a 20-meter-tall solid cement giant.

[Boom!]

Fierce winds slammed into it—

Though they couldn’t move the cement giant even a fraction—

They did leave numerous weathering cracks on its surface.

"Zehahahaha!"

"Useless! Useless! Useless!"

Now transformed into the cement giant, Teach threw his head back in maniacal laughter.

He raised a massive cement fist and smashed it down toward the front.

[Boom!]

The desert exploded.

Countless shinobi were blasted into the air—though their counterattacks followed quickly.

"Fire Release..."

A blazing fireball smashed into the giant’s side.

Then—

Sizzling arcs of lightning snaked across the sand.

"Lightning Release...!"

"Die!"

Teach roared in fury, slamming both palms into the sand—

Kicking up a massive sandstorm once more.

Just as the shinobi’s attention was drawn to this movement—

The very next second, sharp glass blades burst up from beneath them—

Slicing or impaling vital points on the spot.

"AAAAHHHH!"

"MY LEG!!"

Screams of agony rang out one after another.

All across the field—

Shinobi were either killed instantly or collapsed to the ground, wailing as they clutched their wounds.

"STOP IT, NOW!"

Seeing the scene unfold before him, A was consumed with rage.

In an instant, he activated Lightning Release Chakra Mode and charged forward at full speed.

Leaping into the air, A gathered the high-voltage lightning chakra around his right hand—

And the next moment—

His thunder-infused hand chop collided head-on with the cement giant’s descending fist.

[BOOM!!]

The air around them instantly boiled with heat.

A powerful shockwave burst outward, shattering layers of sharp glass that had risen from the ground nearby.

Taking advantage of the moment, Hanzo led Yahiko, Nagato, Konan, and a hundred Amegakure shinobi to the left flank of the battlefield.

"Summoning Jutsu!"

Hanzo bit into the thumb of his right hand and slammed it hard onto the sun-scorched desert sand.

[BOOM————]

A cloud of white smoke exploded outward.

Yahiko, Nagato, Konan, and the others stared wide-eyed in shock at the massive creature that suddenly appeared before them.

The Poison Salamander!

Hanzo stood proudly atop its head,

Gazing into the distance at the army’s encampment and the distant silhouette of Rōran.

[WHOOOOOSH————]

The giant salamander opened its maw and unleashed a massive stream of purple toxic smoke.

Despite the lack of any wind support,

the gas flowed with eerie precision—completely avoiding the rear line—

And rolled forward like a tidal wave straight toward Rōran.

But just then, a sharp, thunderous shout rang out:

"Lightning Release: Black Panther!"

In a flash, a black, panther-shaped bolt of lightning came crashing down from the sky into the midst of the purple gas.

With a blast of thunder, the black lightning erupted and spread through the toxic cloud—

And in the blink of an eye, the sound blasts tore a massive hole through the poisonous mist.

"What?!"

Hanzo’s head snapped upward in shock.

And there he saw it—a figure in the sky, cloaked in crackling lightning and crowned with golden hair.

The Third Raikage!

"You—why are you here?! And why did you attack me?!"

Hanzo could hardly keep it together. He had summoned the salamander to help him!

"Hmph. Hanzo, I’ll only warn you once. Don’t attack that side again."

No sooner had he spoken—

Than the Third Raikage turned into a streak of blue lightning and flew toward the battlefield where Teach and A were clashing.

"...Huh?"

Hanzo stood there completely baffled—while Yahiko and the others exchanged bewildered looks below.

Then Nagato asked softly, "...Wait, so Lightning Release Chakra Mode can actually make you fly?"

"...Hmm?"

Hanzo froze again at the question.

Yeah—why was the Third Raikage flying?

He had just assumed the man had jumped into the air.

What in the world was going on?!
