One Piece: I'm Destined to Be the Son-in-Law King!-Chapter 161: Jinbe: Let’s Duel
Chapter 161 - Jinbe: Let's Duel
"You son of a... I'll get you for this!"
Roya roared, his voice echoing in the empty air.
First, they tried to make Ace a Warlord after I caught him. Now, they stab me in the back after I finally take him down.
"Are they toying with me?" he thought, his anger rising. "What is Momonga doing? Why didn't he tell me about this? Doesn't he know how much effort I'm putting into this mission?"
"Pah!" he spat. "And he's a Vice Admiral! There should be a limit to how much you can slack off!"
When I get back, I'm reporting him, and teaching him a lesson.
"And those higher-ups at Headquarters too," he muttered. "Useless! The lot of them!"
If I find out who gave that order, I'll beat them until their own mother wouldn't recognize them!
It took a while for Roya's anger to cool.
"Right, where were we?" he said, finally calming down.
Jinbe and Ace remained silent.
They had just endured a ten-minute storm of curses, with everyone from Momonga to Fleet Admiral Sengoku getting an earful. Even the World Government wasn't spared from Roya's dark tirade.
This is the first time I've seen a Marine with such nerve, Jinbe thought.
"Oh, are we all good now?" Roya asked, waving his hand dismissively, not even looking at Jinbe. "Get out of here. You're in the way. I still have a mission to complete."
Jinbe was dumbfounded.
How can he just act like nothing happened?
"Black Hair, about the offer for Ace to become a Warlord..." Jinbe started to explain.
"Stop!" Roya interrupted, raising his hand. "Do you think I'm stupid enough to fall for such an obvious lie?" he sneered.
"A lie?" Jinbe stammered, surprised.
"The Government's letter!" Roya barked.
"Letter?"
Roya gestured to his subordinates, Fullbody and Jango, who immediately rushed over, one offering Roya a cigarette, the other lighting it.
He's got a real tough guy style , Jinbe observed.
Roya exhaled a cloud of smoke. "What letter? Where is it? I didn't see any letter," he said innocently.
Jinbe's eyes fell on the ashes on the ground.
The letter was gone.
Jinbe took a deep breath, looking at Roya, who was clearly lying through his teeth. My brain is about to short-circuit.
Is this kind of thug really a Marine?
"Blue Fatty, listen to me carefully," Roya said, pointing at Ace. "Fire Fist Ace is the Seven Warlords of the Sea candidate we Marines formally invited, and I am the one carrying out this invitation mission!"
"I don't care if you're a Warlord or whatever, if you attack Ace, you're sabotaging my mission, and that makes you my enemy."
"I'm warning you, I'll beat you up!"
"Got it?!"
Eight Warlords of the Sea ... I'll beat you into next Tuesday!
Jinbe's face turned dark, and he clenched his fists tightly. Patience, Jinbe, patience!
Ace cautiously approached Roya and whispered, "Roya, actually, I can handle him."
"You? You think you're so tough?" Roya scoffed. "In your current state, you'd be out of commission for a month after this fight. Behave yourself, save your strength for Whitebeard."
Ace silently retreated back to his partner.
Roya nodded in satisfaction and turned back to Jinbe, whose chest was heaving. "Why are you still here?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Black Hair!" Jinbe roared, his face red with anger. "I want to duel with you!"
"Duel? Here?" Roya asked, pointing to the ground.
Jinbe couldn't take it anymore. He wanted to beat this arrogant Marine into a pulp.
"That's right! Right here!"
"Let's forget about it," Roya said with a wave of his hand. "You're a Fish-Man, dueling me on land? What are you trying to prove?"
"Me?! Trying to prove something?!" Jinbe's eyes were bloodshot, and smoke practically billowed from his ears.
A mere Marine Rear Admiral mocking me, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, for trying to show off? Is there any justice left in this world?!
"Hoo... Hoo..." Jinbe gasped for breath, trying to suppress the rage bubbling inside him.
I always thought I was one of the calmer Fish-Men, not easily angered, but right now, I want to tear this Black Hair into pieces!
Jinbe struggled to control his anger. "Black Hair, I still need to settle the matter of the Fish-Man Pirates' destruction with you!"
"You're talking about Arlong and his crew?" Roya asked, frowning slightly.
When I wiped out those pirates, I thought there might be a problem with Jinbe, but it wasn't a big deal.
But things are different now.
"Yes, I destroyed Arlong and his group. Do you have a problem with that?"
"I have no problem with it," Jinbe replied, taking a deep breath. Anger and hatred will only make things worse. I need to stay calm and solve this.
Otohime, Fisher Tiger ... they both died because of hatred. And I'm looking to this Black Hair to solve the problem.
"I know what Arlong and his crew did was wrong," Jinbe continued, "but not all of them were as cruel as Arlong. They didn't deserve to die."
"Yeah, that's true," Roya said, nodding slightly.
From what I heard, some of them were decent, even secretly helping humans, but that was only a few. Most of them were as bloodthirsty as Arlong.
I don't have the time to sort them out.
Besides, joining Arlong's crew was a crime in itself, and they all benefited from his actions.
Maybe they didn't deserve death, but killing them was justified.
Roya said coldly, "I'm a Marine, not a judge. I don't have the time to decide who deserves what. Delivering death is my responsibility!"
Jinbe was speechless.
He knows it wasn't right, but if Arlong and the others were sent to a court, maybe more of my people would be alive.
Was it really right to kill them all?
Fisher Tiger's will was passed on to me, and I've been holding back all these years.
"Don't hate humans," he told me.
But humans don't treat Fish-Men with respect, like this Black Hair, who can't even be bothered to judge them.
Jinbe stayed silent for a long time, his emotions tangled.
He looked up and stared into Roya's eyes.
"Black Hair, duel with me."
Roya's smile faded. He could feel Jinbe's determination.
"Alright, I'll play with you," he said.

Honeycomb Island.
The Moby Dick was docked at the port.
"Pops, Jinbe is on the move!"
"Fire Fist Ace is on Matsuba Island!"
"Are we going to stop them?"
The captains were on the deck, all relaxed. For them, the rookies' challenges were just a fun part of life.
Pops is the strongest!
"Gura rā ra, he's finally here," Whitebeard said, a smile spreading across his face.
After waiting for almost two months, Ace had finally arrived in his territory.
"Set sail, my sons!"
"Ooooh!!!"
The Moby Dick quickly left the port.
The Marines watching Honeycomb Island immediately sent the news back to Headquarters. They had to keep an eye on Whitebeard at all times, even without the Ace situation.
"Whitebeard is on the move!"
Fleet Admiral Sengoku hung up the Den Den Mushi, thinking about how to respond.
Roger's son must not fall into Whitebeard's hands. That would make his crew too powerful.
One good thing and one bad thing, and the difference is huge.
The problem is, I need a good reason to send an Admiral, and Ace's identity can't be revealed yet.
"Get Garp in here!" Sengoku ordered.
