One Piece: King of the World-Chapter 348: Kill Teach and Whitebeard Together!
"Zehahahaha! Father, I never thought I'd live to see you like this!" Teach sneered, his laughter filled with arrogance.
He tightened his grip on his target, ready to unleash his power. But before he could act, Newgate who had seemed completely defeated suddenly rose from the ground. His injuries were severe, yet he stood as if he'd suppressed all his pain through sheer willpower.
Newgate raised his arm and punched the air. The surrounding space twisted, and an immense shockwave shot toward Teach.
Teach's expression shifted slightly, but he didn't panic. He extended his right hand and shouted, "Dark Vortex!"
Dark smoke spiraled from Teach's outstretched arm. The invisible force of Newgate's quake collided with the black mist and began to warp and dissolve.
Ordinarily, Newgate's quakes were unstoppable, Claudius himself had witnessed even Sakazuki being overwhelmed by them. Yet Teach's Dark Dark Devil Fruit possessed a unique trait: it could absorb and nullify the abilities of other Devil Fruits.
Within seconds, the tremor's energy was consumed by the spreading darkness, leaving nothing but faint ripples in the air.
Teach's power worked perfectly, but his fatal flaw was his arrogance. Years spent lurking in Newgate's shadow had twisted his ego. Now that he'd finally suppressed his former captain's strength, his confidence swelled unchecked.
"Zehahahaha! How about that, old man?! Impressive, isn't it?! Now you know why I betrayed you! It was for this power! For the chance to rise higher and go further!" Teach bellowed, eyes gleaming with wild ambition.
Newgate staggered forward, his expression unreadable. He raised his other fist and launched another quake toward Teach.
"It's useless!" Teach jeered, activating his power again.
---
Sakazuki, observing the clash from a distance, narrowed his eyes.
The most troublesome part of Whitebeard's power is the overwhelming force of his quakes. If Teach can seal it…
He was about to charge in when Claudius moved, stepping in front of him.
Sakazuki paused, puzzled. "Your Highness?"
"That bastard Teach is dangerous," Claudius said softly. "I'm convinced he orchestrated the Impel Down breakout. We can't let him live. You and I together, let's finish him off here."
Sakazuki's eyes widened slightly. He'd suspected the timing of the Impel Down incident was suspicious, but hearing Claudius voice the same concern solidified his resolve.
He didn't need evidence. If a Celestial Dragon said it, that was enough. And Teach was a pirate, he'd rather trust Claudius than someone like that.
"Understood," Sakazuki said grimly.
---
"Zehahahaha! What's wrong, old man? Can't use your quakes anymore?!" Teach mocked as he grasped Newgate's fist with both hands.
From his vantage point, Claudius sighed. "Idiot."
Teach had indeed neutralized Newgate's Devil Fruit powers, but he'd forgotten a crucial detail: Newgate wasn't called the "Strongest Man in the World" just for his quake abilities. Even without his fruit, he was a seasoned, battle-hardened monster of raw physical power.
He walked forward on purpose, Claudius realized. He wanted Teach to take the bait.
Newgate was fully aware of Teach's abilities. The Dark Dark Fruit's powers had been discussed among his crew when Teach first obtained it. Newgate knew exactly how it worked and how to exploit its weaknesses.
Suddenly, Newgate's eyes gleamed with ruthless intent. His free hand shot forward and clamped around Teach's arm.
Teach froze, the color draining from his face. His bravado vanished. He realized too late that he'd fallen for the trap.

"Wait—!" Teach began.
Newgate yanked him forward and smashed his forehead into Teach's skull with bone-cracking force.
Teach's nose shattered instantly. Blood sprayed from his nostrils, and the shock of amplified pain from his Dark Dark Fruit caused him to howl in agony.
"Gahhh!" he shrieked, his knees buckling.
Newgate capitalized on his opponent's disorientation. He lifted Teach into the air by his arm and slammed him into the ground with a thunderous crash.
Teach writhed, gasping for breath. His hands flailed as he tried to activate his powers again, but Newgate stomped both his arms to the ground, pinning him like an insect.
"Arrogance and recklessness…" Newgate growled. "I've warned you for years about those weaknesses. But you never listened… Teach."
Teach strained, but Newgate leaned down, placing his full, massive weight on his captive.
"Your Highness! Help me!" Teach screamed in desperation.
"Pathetic," Claudius muttered.
"Boom!"
Newgate tightened his grip around Teach's throat. A faint shimmer of quake energy gathered around his palm, bypassing Teach's defenses now that he was physically restrained.
"Father, no! I'm your son!" Teach pleaded.
"You? My son?" Newgate's eyes burned with fury. "You're not worthy of the title!"
With a roar, Newgate unleashed the pent-up quake force directly into Teach's skull.
Teach convulsed. Blood poured from his nose, mouth, and ears. His eyes rolled back as his body spasmed under the crushing force.
---
Suddenly, a flash of cold steel appeared at Newgate's side.
Newgate, sensing the attack, twisted his body and slammed his foot down. The force shattered Teach's left arm while simultaneously releasing a powerful quake burst to intercept the incoming strike.
The blade was deflected, but its wielder, a figure with a flowing dark coat lunged toward Teach.
"Shiryu…" Claudius's eyes narrowed.
Shiryu of the Rain, the traitorous former warden of Impel Down, had appeared.
"I knew it…" Claudius thought.
---
As Shiryu bent to grab Teach, Sakazuki erupted from the ground like a volcanic geyser.
"Traitors of Impel Down!" he bellowed. "I hereby strip you of your title as a Warlord of the Sea! Die!"
"Mountain Fire Fury!"
A massive pillar of molten rock burst into existence and surged downward. Shiryu's eyes widened as the blazing magma shot toward him.
"Damn it…" Shiryu growled, raising his sword and coating it in Armament Haki. He prepared to slash through the incoming attack.
---
Claudius saw the opening and acted.
In the blink of an eye, he disappeared from his spot. Newgate, who had been focused on Shiryu and Teach, felt the disturbance just a second too late.
Claudius reappeared beside him.
With a swift, fluid motion, he delivered a devastating horizontal kick directly into Newgate's chest.
