Only I Cultivate-Chapter 22: Vacation?
Chapter 22: Vacation?
Feng Fan woke up on a cozy double bed. Beside him sat a busty silver-haired woman, cutting apples to feed him. Her lips moved seductively as she gazed at him.
She wore a bikini that was far too small, barely containing her curves. Her large chest seemed ready to burst out at any moment.
"Fan'er, take a bite. I brought this just for you," she said, holding out a slice of apple.
Feng Fan's eyes weren't on the apple, though—they were fixed on her delicate, creamy hand.
He looked into her eyes instead of taking the apple. "Are you offering the apple or your hand?"
The woman chuckled softly. "Whatever you prefer, Fan'er."
She pulled the apple back and slowly licked it, as if inviting him to take a bite.
Feng Fan gulped. 'Today, I'll finally lose my wizard status!'
"Wake up, idiot!" an angry voice echoed in Feng Fan's head, jolting him awake.
"Ugh, what happened?" Feng Fan opened his eyes and looked around.
He was in a hospital bed, a needle in his arm delivering serum. Beside him, Luo Li sat in a chair, her usual black mask covering her face. She glared at him with anger.
"You were making weird faces and saying strange things. What were you dreaming about?" she asked sternly.
Feng Fan's gaze drifted slightly downward, catching a glimpse of Luo Li's cleavage under her light blue blouse. He gulped, remembering his dream, but didn't dare admit it.
"I was just having a bad dream. Sorry!"
Luo Li rolled her eyes, not buying his excuse. She was about to scold him but stopped, remembering how he had nearly died because of her mistake. Her expression softened.
"Hey... I'm sorry about... that. You almost died because of me," she said, looking down in shame.
"Oi, what are you talking about? We thought there were only two ghosts. We dealt with them, how could we have known about the third one?"
Luo Li shook her head, a sad smile on her lips. "I should've investigated further. If it weren't for you, two more people would've died because of my mistake."
"It's okay. I don't like seeing you sad. You're much prettier when you smile. So, if you're sorry, smile more for me," Feng Fan said, grinning at her.
Luo Li blushed, unsure how to respond. She quickly changed the subject.
"The doctors said you're recovering well. You should be discharged in three days at most. I've talked to Director Mao, and I'll help with your training after you're out. Be ready."
Feng Fan's eyebrows rose in interest. "Oh, training? What exactly are we going to work on?"
Luo Li straightened her back, returning to her usual cold demeanor. "Your fighting style seems to focus on close combat, especially using your arms, so we'll concentrate on that. Also, I think you can use those chains in more ways than you've shown. I've arranged for a boxing instructor and a chain specialist to help. Meanwhile, I'll teach you how to handle ghosts."
Feng Fan was thrilled. He knew how to cultivate, but fixing his weaknesses in close combat wasn't something he could do quickly. Getting help from experts would speed up his progress significantly.
"Thanks, Luo Li! I really want to get stronger. My last fight made me realize how weak I still am."
Behind her mask, Luo Li gave him a faint smile. "Alright, I'll head out now. If you need anything, just call me."
With that, Luo Li stood up from the chair beside Feng Fan's bed and headed for the door. But before she could leave, Feng Fan spoke up.
"Wait, Luo Li. What happened to the girl the ghost possessed?"
Feng Fan remembered how the ghost had twisted and distorted the teenager's body. He was worried she might not survive after the ghost left her body.
Luo Li met his gaze. "Her condition is critical, but she's alive. I can't say for sure if she'll fully recover. She'll have both physical and mental scars but... she'll live."
Feng Fan sighed in relief. "Thanks, Luo Li."
Luo Li nodded and left the room.
After she was gone, Feng Fan reached for his phone, which was on a small wooden table next to the bed. He checked the date and time.
'I was out for a whole day, huh?'
He put the phone back on the table and smiled. "I don't have to work for the next three days, and the government is covering both my medical bills and food. This is just perfect!"
Feng Fan leaned back against the cozy pillow and closed his eyes. 'Since I've got some time off, I'll treat this as a vacation.'

A full moon hung high in the sky, its light shining through the windows of the hospital. It illuminated not only Feng Fan's room but also another room where an elderly woman slept peacefully.
She had just returned from a successful heart surgery. The nurse on duty quietly opened the door to her room and stepped inside, closing it behind him.
In his left hand, he held a syringe and a small bottle of medicine labeled 'digoxin'. The nurse moved stiffly, like a puppet controlled by invisible strings.
The elderly woman, deep in sleep, didn't notice his presence.

The nurse approached her bed, stopping near her left leg. Behind his white mask, an unsettling smile spread across his face. His black eyes were empty, completely lifeless.
He inserted the needle into the bottle of digoxin and pulled the plunger, filling the syringe with the drug. After tucking the empty bottle into his pocket, he lifted the hospital gown, exposing the woman's left thigh.
The nurse's hand trembled for a few seconds, but it soon steadied. He pressed the needle into her thigh and injected the drug into her veins.
Once the deed was done, he tucked the syringe into his pocket and left the room.
His lifeless eyes remained empty, but tears of blood began to fall from them.
