Otaku Witch-Chapter 345 311. Excellent players
"Ah-choo..."
Outside the Arena, Dorothy suddenly sneezed, shivering with cold, which puzzled her.
Witches don't catch colds, so what was happening to her? Could it be that someone had set their sights on her?
Felling a slight tingle of Inspiration, the homebody witch slightly furrowed her brow.
However, she soon had no time for idle thoughts, as the battle royale game in the arena below was nearing its climax.
Dorothy looked at the current Points ranking. At the top was still the Elf Witch Child of the Forest, who had already racked up 36 kills.
But just recently, this King of Luck had been punished by a true powerhouse, Madeline. Upon resurrection, she opened another Resource Box and conjured a set of summoning magic of the eighth circle—Heart of the Swarm. Now she was commanding an ever-growing swarm of insects causing havoc.
Yet despite the strength of the swarm, it ultimately wasn't as convenient as the Clown Illusion, and her killing speed had decreased. It looked like she would soon be overtaken by Madeline, who was currently ranked second.
The Succubus Witch had already amassed 30 kills. Already formidable, she now had the assistance of Clown Illusion. Their cooperation was seamless, slaughtering with astonishing efficiency; almost everyone unlucky enough to encounter them was immediately taken down.
This display thrilled Dorothy to the point where she wished she could jump into the fray and team up with the Phantom. She felt the Succubus Witch would make a fine partner if she ever had the chance to join the battlefield.
Emmmm.... pah, pah, pah, who wants to go to battle? I'm a civil engineering witch, better off sticking to my humdrum tasks. Why think of the battlefield? It's far too dangerous.
The homebody witch, with her strong willpower, firmly cut off the budding thought that "perhaps being an Armed Witch wouldn't be so bad" and once again turned her attention to the rankings.
Third place was a familiar face, Miss Ghost Mask. Overconfident, she had gone head-to-head with Clown Illusion and was swiftly defeated. However, with her solid strengths, she managed a steady recovery after her resurrection. Up to this point, she had claimed 22 kills and had gathered a full set of equipment.
She even encountered Clown Illusion again, but this time, Miss Ghost Mask had wised up. Instead of a direct confrontation, she leveraged her combat skills to successfully take down an Illusion, redeeming her previous loss.
The fourth spot went to another witch Dorothy didn't recognize, codenamed Frost Snow Lady. Her superb Ice Magic was truly a sight to behold, with a mastery akin to a Saint. Likely, her luck was good, and her Spell Slots matched the magic she was already proficient in, giving her a smoother start than others. She had now achieved a 20-person kill streak.
This impressed Dorothy, who then took a closer look at her profile.
Hmm, unlike a fellow member of the Judgment Court by legacy, this was someone newly recruited for their excellent Dueling Talent—a sign of high quality. No wonder her performance was so outstanding.
Following behind was fifth place, a witch unknown to Dorothy, codenamed Stellar Speaker. Surprisingly, she was a rare Prophecy Witch with talents related to Fate, currently at 19 kills.
Then, in sixth place, was another witch unfamiliar to Dorothy, codenamed Uninvolved in Gambling and Prostitution. This person surprised Dorothy as she was a Potion Master not skilled in combat, relying entirely on poisoning her opponents. She even refrained from seeking Resource Boxes at the start, instead extracting toxins from various spontaneously generated plants around the field, eventually concocting deadly poisons.
Those who encountered her were unlucky; they typically succumbed to poison without ever seeing her, and by the time they realized something was wrong, the venom had penetrated deep into their bones, starting a countdown to death.
So far, she had poisoned 17 victims, including an unfortunate Clown Illusion.
Interestingly, Uninvolved in Gambling and Prostitution was also a second-generation member of the Judgment Court like Dorothy. Upon seeing the name of her endorser, Dorothy recognized a Silver Medal Grand Inquisitor who was currently her peer.
The homebody witch was quite interested in this Potion Master. After all, she had some understanding of Potion Studies herself and hoped to engage in a deeper exchange with her in the future; she was quite fascinated by all kinds of poisons.

Following that, in the seventh place, we have a familiar face, our dearly beloved sister, Alice, the little witch whose luck has always been rotten to the core, terrifyingly so. Her starting Resource Box failed to yield any useful Spell Slots and, to make matters worse, she even had the misfortune of drawn conflicting Attributes.
As a Half-blood Witch of vampire and Werewolf lineage, Alice is a classic creature of Darkness. Yet, from her box, she had the misfortune to draw a Holy Light Technique and a Sacred Warhammer capable of purifying Darkness, which made the little witch stomp her feet in frustration.
Luckily, the little witch has put in quite an effort—now having killed 15 people, she has managed to cobble together a mixed set of gear and acquired a few Spell Slots that she could make do with.
Let me emphasize this again: this kid is scary, not having a single Necromancy or Dark Blood Magic to her name. She's seriously lacking.
The eighth place goes to someone with the codename Elemental Empress. From that, you can tell she's a witch skilled in Evocation Series magic. She's also a rookie specially recruited for this competition, and her various Elemental Magic attacks have been impressive, a clear indication that she's someone who's studied 'Advanced Elemental Theory' thoroughly. So far, she has killed 11 people.
It's just a pity that she's been unlucky and overconfident, clashing with the Clown Illusion, assuming she could outpower it. That's how she got a lesson in humility and earned a resurrection experience.
Really, what was that kid thinking? Didn't she realize who the author of the latest 'Advanced Elemental Theory' is? It's me, the Witch of the Forest, of course.

Trying to play with elemental conversions in front of the Clown Illusion is like performing swordplay in front of Guan Yu.
In ninth place is Phantom Girl, another second-generation Judge offspring. However, her promoter is just a Bronze Medal Judge. She's a witch from the Mental Faction, and her Illusion Techniques combined with traps are also quite formidable. The only thing is, she's always been on the defensive, hence her low kill count of 9.
Lastly, in the tenth place, we have Star Burial, another special admission student with decent Necromancy skills. But, with bad luck, she hasn't found any powerful high-tier Necromancy spells, so she has only just killed 6 people.
As for those ranked after the tenth, Dorothy didn't bother to continue watching. Although those competitors each have their strengths, they could only be considered exceptionally talented ordinary geniuses, brilliant but not particularly eye-catching.
Meanwhile, down on the field, the poison circle has been shrinking unnoticeably, and now the arena has been reduced to the size of half a city, forcing the surviving players to become even more vigilant.
Except for Madeline, who had already claimed the top spot, all the others unanimously chose to stay low, each becoming a Voldemort in hiding.

None of them wanted to stick their necks out; they all preferred to let others engage first while they sneaked in their covert shots.
Seeing this, Dorothy decided to give them a little nudge.
Hmm, it's about time for the final airdrop.
The Homebody Witch thought to herself, and then she dropped the final Clown Illusion.
However, this Clown Illusion was completely different from the previous ones; she gave this phantom two thought processes, so it was no longer the instinct-driven, mindless Puppet it used to be. It had truly become Dorothy's avatar.
As the Phantom landed, the entrance was quite flamboyant, enshrouded in bright golden special effects, akin to a rich gamer in the game, maximal light pollution.
At the same time, a message was sent out to all surviving players.
[Defeat the Phantom King, and you will drop 0-9 tiers of Spell Slots of your choice, along with a custom weapon. First come, first served.]
And so, the next moment, the Voldemorts couldn't sit still anymore.
...The boss hunting party is convening...
