Otherworldly Affairs Office-Chapter 832: Breaking the Deadlock
"It seems you're not completely foolish yet. At least you're somewhat alert to unknown dangers, hehehe!" Watching Pei Jin halt in front of the tall mirror, Moira, hidden within the mirror array, continued to encourage tauntingly, "Aren't you going to take a risk to save your brother? The sixth meteor is about to land!"
Without turning his head, Pei Jin knew the sixth meteor had already descended. Faced with the tightly aligned twelve tall mirrors, he knew there must be a trick, yet he could not stand still. Taking a deep breath, he randomly chose one of the mirrors and charged straight into it.
With a loud crash! The tall mirror shattered, and Pei Jin's figure disappeared into the void.
"Alas! Bad luck, wrong choice! Pei Yan, you have a good sister! Unfortunately, she's about to die for you!" Moira laughed even more arrogantly as Pei Jin fell into the trap, provoking the enormous mecha which had expanded to a height of seventy or eighty meters, towering over twenty floors tall.
"Say whatever you want, Moira! You may now consider my words as the barking of a powerless person, but mark my words, one day, certainly one day, I'll make you pay for your foul mouth!" Transformed into a mecha giant, Pei Yan's words echoed across the battlefield through a loudspeaker.
Meanwhile, the sixth meteor descended above his head. This time, he did not defend but stretched out his arms to catch it directly. When the rapidly falling meteor collided with his enormous mechanical hands, each as large as a basketball court, the ground trembled continuously from the massive impact, and amidst the deafening roar of engines, the mecha giant swayed three times before stabilizing.
Without thinking, Pei Yan hurled the still-burning meteor towards Flamel's location. Faced with the attack he launched being used against him, Flamel's expression remained calm, not stopping but instead accelerating the subsequent casting of spells.
He wasn't worried because someone stood in front of him. Hovering in mid-air, Moira aimed at the whistling meteor and whispered, "High-level spatial magic: Spatial Rift Technique!"
With those words, the once-threatening meteor vanished in mid-air without a trace. The next moment, a flash of light appeared in the sky over the battlefield, and the meteor, cut into numerous uneven fragments, showered the ground as they passed through the light curtain.
Within this meteor shower, a figure emerged from the void; it was Pei Jin, who had previously disappeared. Her body was covered in countless wounds and a continuously bleeding severed arm, signifying the crisis she faced during her disappearance.
"Hmph! Losing only an arm to escape the spatial fault, you won't have such luck next time!" Seeing Pei Jin escape from her trap alive, Moira snorted disdainfully.
"Sister!"
"Don't shout so loud! I'm fine!" Hearing her brother's shout filled with rage, Pei Jin twisted her shoulder, and a piece of white bone instantly grew from the broken part of her severed arm. In the blink of an eye, a fully restored arm appeared in front of everyone as countless fleshy buds surrounded the bone.
Entering that strange space was truly dangerous; invisible spatial faults were everywhere. Despite being extremely cautious, a small mistake cost her an arm.
"Among these twelve spatial rift mirrors, only one leads smoothly into the mirror array! Do you want to try risking your life again, or just stand here helplessly watching your brother suffer and die!" Seeing Pei Jin instantly recover from her injuries, Moira's face turned even more sinister, issuing a new challenge with a cold smile.
"Hmph! One out of twelve mirrors leads through safely! Do you take me for a child? No one would design a defense array with an intentional easy path for the enemy. Clearly, you're trying to provoke my luck so I'd take the risk!" Pei Jin dismissed the claim with disdain and then turned to Pei Yan behind her, loudly asking, "How long can you hold on?"
"Hehehe! Don't worry about me, sister. I can hold out until the end!" Pei Yan spoke against his true feelings to reassure his sister. As he caught the sixth meteor, he realized that with each meteor, the next one grew stronger. He could still manage the upcoming meteors, but if they continued cumulatively, he wasn't confident he could withstand the last one.
"It won't take long; this farce will soon end!" Pei Jin said as she slowly closed her eyes. As the seventh meteor landed, her body underwent an earth-shattering transformation, leaving everyone shocked.
Her smooth skin grew dragon scales harder than steel, mysterious antler-like dragon horns sprouted from her forehead, and her hands became sharp like eagle claws. When she reopened her eyes, a terrifying aura akin to an ancient beast burst forth following her piercing gaze.
"Hehehe, I thought you had some transformation, merely taking the same path as that god-willed Suhabaru, enhancing your strength by mixing multiverse bloodlines. For you of the baseline realm without noble lineage, this is the only way to extend your power limit," Moira, temporarily pressured by Pei Jin's aura, taunted with hostile words, her embarrassment turned to anger.
"Suhabaru, is it? Don't compare me to that low-standard psychic. There is a difference between us you can experience with your own body!"
"Don't underestimate her! You must stop her! The spell is critical now; if I hold on a bit longer, I can eliminate Pei Yan!" Flamel, casting the spell, sensed the terrifying power within Pei Jin, and reminded while simultaneously shouting, "Immediate chant: Rapid Chain!"
With this incantation, blood trickled from Flamel's seven orifices, exchanging severe internal injuries for the seventh meteor falling faster onto the ground. Then the eighth, ninth, tenth meteors, forming a string, rushed forth together!
He couldn't care about the impact these continuous meteor strikes had on the entire battlefield; he wanted this move to eliminate Pei Yan for good!
Flamel was desperate! Pei Jin was also desperate! After her transformation, Pei Jin charged into the spatial mirror array without a word. With a crisp sound, she shattered one of the mirrors of space. Despite her disdainful words towards Pei Jin, Moira maintained the composure of a skilled practitioner in battle; after Pei Jin entered the mirror array, she flicked her fingers, aligning the twelve mirrors horizontally in front of her!
