Overlord Tamer: All My Pet Monsters Have God Potential-Chapter 69: Rare Monster, Secret Cave?
Chapter 69: Rare Monster, Secret Cave?
John sent all the monsters inside Monster Paradise as well as the entire camp that he had just built, alongside the frozen statues.
Afterward, he jumped on Pymon’s back and patted lightly. "Let’s go."
It was time for Pymon to fight.
After flying for a bit at a higher altitude among the trees, they encountered Terror Winged Sparrow, a Prime-stage Silver-rank Monster.
[Terror Winged Sparrow]
[Pet Attributes]: Wind / Earth
— Gene Potential: 78/100
— Strength: 78
— Speed: 89
— Defense: 79
— Soul Core: 478/500
It had massive wings with scaled earth and swirling patterns, and a big stomach.
Upon seeing Pymon, the sparrow started with its signature Geo Burst Dive as it rolled up its wings and turned into a solid boulder with holes at specific points that burst out with wind and shot at Pymon.
However, Pymon was the fastest flying monster! At least, there was no one as fast as him here!
Tempest Streak!
[Tempest Streak]: Charges up the falcon to create a magnetic field to reduce atmospheric resistance and increase flight speed significantly. 1 to 5 Soul energy per second, depending on speed boost.
John suddenly felt a jolt as Pymon dodged the attack at a breakneck speed. This skill was terrifyingly fast despite Pymon having only 159 soul power so far.
’Shit, I can’t stay up.’
John jumped off and activated Strider’s Gaunt, landing perfectly on a branch. Staying on Pymon’s back at such a fast speed and maneuvering wasn’t good for him or Pymon for battle.
On the other hand, the sparrow smashed a few branches but slowed down and unraveled itself right before hitting the ground and flying up.
Pymon had also turned around, earlier than the sparrow, and used a skill upon John’s command.
Archwing Thunderbust!
Pymon’s wings crackled with lightning and glowed as they flapped once powerfully, releasing a wide X-slash projectile of major lightning and wind power with a bit of water stream for sharpness.
The sparrow was squarely struck by it and was smacked into the ground, sizzling with electricity, which subsided pretty fast thanks to its Earth-attribute and using it to channel it away to the ground.
Pymon’s soul core was a mere 159, which means Pymon’s skill general power was 159, compared to Terror Winged Sparrow’s 478.
But in terms of scaling and skill ranking, Pymon’s skills were a few notches higher.
Still, the damage of Arcwind Thunderbust wasn’t that great on the sparrow, understandably.
The sparrow flew up again and purely used Earth mastery level 1 and Wind mastery level 1 to create a vortex of debris, wanting to obstruct Pymon’s vision and flight.
’Pymon, get out of there and then Winged-Tempest Blasters.’
Pymon used Tempest Streak, shooting out of the vortex at a speed the sparrow could never match, and then, with the last bit of his remaining soul energy, used Winged-Tempest Blasters.
The sparrow’s wings unleashed whirling earth spikes, shooting at Pymon’s incoming orbs.
Pymon could only shoot a total of five orbs, but the first one that exploded caused the ten spikes to scatter away as the remaining four orbs struck the sparrow.
Boom!
The sparrow was bombarded and significantly injured. Amidst explosions of four orbs, one spike, bigger, sharper, and whirling with more wind, suddenly shot at Pymon, boring a hole in its right wing, making him cry loudly once as Pymon fell and landed on a branch.
John’s eyebrows jumped, his eyes focused on the sparrow, and the gun aimed.
The injured sparrow shot out before debris and dust settled, but John’s pistol suddenly burst with a bullet that struck right around its neck area, though he had aimed at its head.
Still, John had 382 Soul power, and his 50 soul-energy bullet was enough to finish off the sparrow after the injuries it suffered from Pymon’s attacks.
It fell and landed on the ground with a thud.
John extracted its core and fed it to Pymon. He also enchanted a leaf with his Lifebloom Enchantment talent, healing Pymon’s injuries quickly.
"Good job, Pymon. Your skills were superior, and you just need to get used to your skills better and get some combo moves with training," John said with a grin. "I wonder if you will break the sound barrier with Tempest Streak after reaching the peak of Silver-rank."
"Kree-Kree!"
"Yeah, we’ll find out soon."
It was night, but the surrounding was illuminated by the two moons’ light and glowing plantlife of different kinds as well as glowing monsters of the night.
Still, there were monsters who could blend into the darkness to ambush. The nocturnal hunters.
As John and Pymon were moving, they indeed encountered a nocturnal hunter—Twin-Fanged Snake Panther.
This one was a rather elite and rare Monster. It was at the peak of Silver-rank, with stats above 90+ and Soul Core at 500/500.
It was clear this guy just woke up and was out to hunt.
’Damn, I want him.’
John wanted it rather than killing it. This Panther had a rather menacing which had a live snake mouth. It was essentiall two-in-one Monster. Fast, deadly, and venemous.

’It even has a talent! Its shadow, not darkness...’
The Panther had spotted John as it blended in the darkness beside a tree’s trunk, its menacing red-green eyes dimly glowing.
"Grr..."
It was gauging John and Pymon.
John grinned. ’Sorry, bud. But we aren’t going to fight fairly with you.’
Pymon obviously wasn’t capable of defeating the Panther.
Swoosh
John summoned Alfred and Merc.
’Go!’ John began his chain of commands.
The Metal Merc Tigerfiend fortified itself with Steel Armor and shot at the Panther head-on while Alfred turned into a streak of darkness using Umbral Drift, arriving above the Panther and using Vorpal Howl!
The Panther saw Merc coming at him and its snake-tail hissed, shooting a venom dart.
Merc was struck, but the dart deflected off its Steel Armor instead. However, the venom seemed more deadly than John thought as Merc’s Steel Armor where the dart was struck began to corrode.
However, Alfred’s Vorpal Howl affected it, and Pymon unleashed Winged-Tempest Blasters as four orbs that struck it and paralyzed it, stopping the panther from moving for just enough for the next move to work.
’Use Prison Chains!’
Merc heard John’s voice through Soul Whiper and understood.
The tiger roared as gray energy whirled around the Panther, turning into metal chains as they bound around its limbs.
Next, Alfred jumped off the branch and landed with a spin as blood whirled around his tail, turning into the shape of a giant hammer purely using Blood Mastery level 2, before it was enchanted by Frostfire Mastery level 1 as ghastly blue flames coated over it.
Smack!
A solid hit on the Panther’s head, stunning it.
Blood Mastery level 2 was powerful. On top of furthering the flexibility of turning Blood into any state of matter and fortifying it based on control and soul energy consumption, the main power of the Blood element was unleashed further—Adaptation and Empowerment.
Blood was an attribute that could empower other attributes, including physical, and turn into any state of matter.
The solid hit from Frostfire Blood Hammer knocked out the Panther.
John waved his hand and sent it into the Monster Paradise.
"Awu!" Alfred suddenly howled a bit while looking down, informing John about something.
"Eh? You sense a potent spirit energy concentrated somewhere below?"
"Interesting."
