Pampered by My Secret Husband-Chapter 54: No Acting Spoiled
Chapter 54: Chapter 54: No Acting Spoiled
She had enough resources. It would be a shame not to use them well.
She clenched her teeth. "First, have Minimus Hart kneel down and apologize to me."
For a whole week, she had been waiting for this day.
Minimus Hart had humiliated her, and she would repay Minimus Hart for the humiliation, no matter the cost.
Thomas Shannon covered her chattering mouth with one hand, his brow furrowed slightly. "Shut up and focus on recovering."
As soon as he finished speaking, he lay down beside her, one hand pillowed behind his head, and gradually closed his eyelids.
Sophie Sullivan suddenly sat up, turning her head to look at him. "Are you protecting Minimus Hart?"
Thomas Shannon said nothing.
"Fine, I’ll get my revenge myself!" Sophie Sullivan declared, then immediately got out of bed and stormed out angrily.
A pillow struck her in the back.
Enraged, Sophie Sullivan whirled around, her anger boiling over. "Thomas Shannon!"
The man lay with both hands pillowed behind his head, eyes closed. He spoke lazily, "Don’t blame me for not giving you a chance. Come back."
After weighing her options, Sophie Sullivan returned to the bed.
She knelt beside Thomas Shannon, asking curiously, "What chance are you giving me?"
Could it be that the chance he mentioned was what she thought?
"Make the call yourself."
The man’s deep, magnetic voice was like music to her ears.
Having received permission, Sophie Sullivan leaned over, picked up the landline on the bedside table, and dialed the intercom. "Tell Minimus Hart to come to the Young Master’s bedroom immediately. And be quick!"
After hanging up, Sophie Sullivan started to get out of bed, ready to punish Minimus Hart thoroughly when she arrived.
Her wrist was suddenly gripped tight, and a strong force yanked her forward.
Her body slammed into the man’s hard chest, and Sophie Sullivan let out a soft cry.
Thomas Shannon slowly opened his eyelids. His narrow, cold eyes were as deep and chilling as a bottomless abyss under the moonlight—profound and devoid of warmth.
Sophie Sullivan felt a chill creep up her spine under his gaze. "Young Master, what’s wrong?"
"Cover your face."
Sophie Sullivan’s lips twitched in an apologetic grimace. "Minimus Hart threw away my mask, so I can only say I’m sorry."
Thomas Shannon was silent.
"My head is so dizzy... It’s all Minimus Hart’s fault I’m like this. Young Master, you have to stand up for me!"
Thomas Shannon covered her face with one hand, pushing her head back. "Don’t act cutesy."
Sophie Sullivan fell silent.
Not allowed to act cutesy? Fine. But why the personal attack?
Did he think she liked this half-ruined, ugly face of hers?
Sophie Sullivan straightened up, moving off his chest. She coughed lightly, then raised a hand to adjust her hair, using it to cover her face.
