Pampered by My Secret Husband-Chapter 607 - 610: You Can Only Pray for Your Good Luck
Raina Bell’s heart was pounding. She knew Minimus Hart also liked Thomas Shannon... No, it was love. Minimus Hart also loved the Young Master, but she couldn’t reveal even a hint of her feelings. Otherwise, her hard-won position as leader would be usurped by other maids. Even worse, she would never be able to stay by the Young Master’s side again.
Since arriving at the manor, Raina Bell had heard that when Minimus Hart was injured on a mission, the Young Master hadn’t hesitated to use Sophie Sullivan’s blood for a transfusion to save her. Minimus Hart, for whom the Young Master had done such a thing, clearly held a special position.
"Speak!" Minimus Hart snapped. "If you want to live, don’t waste any more time!"
Raina Bell bit her lower lip tightly, her voice trembling. "Last night... because of my menstrual period, I didn’t go on the mission. The Young Master got drunk, so I helped him back inside. I didn’t expect... Sophie Sullivan saw us, got jealous, and not only knocked me out but also had the bodyguards lock me up in the dark cell."
"Sophie Sullivan got jealous?" Minimus Hart stared at her with a venomous gaze. She wasn’t so easily deceived. "Tell me, what did Sophie Sullivan see that made her jealous?"
When I was having dinner with the Young Master in the Restaurant, Sophie Sullivan didn’t get jealous and knock me out, did she? So why did she get jealous last night? And knock Raina out, then have the bodyguards throw her into the dark cell? There’s definitely something fishy about this.
"The Young Master was so drunk he was unconscious. I wanted to make him more comfortable, so I took off his clothes, intending to wipe down his body and feet... Sophie Sullivan saw it and assumed I was trying to... do something to the Young Master..."
Minimus Hart scoffed. "Raina Bell, don’t try to pull any tricks in front of me."
"Sister Minnie, I really didn’t do anything! Please believe me!"
SLAP!
Minimus Hart’s hand lashed out, and Raina Bell’s head was violently knocked to the side. She clutched her stinging cheek, squeezed her eyes shut for a moment, then slowly turned her head back. "Sister Minnie..."
"Shut up!" Minimus Hart snapped. "Raina Bell, I see right through your little schemes. This time, you brought this on yourself. You had a good move, but you played it into a dead end. Even I can’t save you this time."
Averting her gaze, Minimus Hart turned and walked out. "You’re on your own."
With that, Minimus Hart left the dark cell.
Watching helplessly as the iron door of the dark cell clanged shut, Raina Bell pounded on it, pleading desperately, "Sister Minnie, please, save me! I really didn’t do anything... I didn’t..."
An unknown amount of time passed before footsteps echoed from the corridor.
A flicker of joy lit up Raina Bell’s face. She pounded on the iron door with renewed force. "Sister Minnie, save me..."
The iron door creaked open from the outside with a heavy, grating sound. The prolonged, sharp noise pierced her eardrums.
A tall man with an ice-cold expression appeared before her.
Raina Bell stumbled back two steps, her legs gave out, and she collapsed to the ground. Looking up, she stammered, "Young Master..."
「Later」
「Medical Office」
Sophie Sullivan went to George Stanford’s room, bringing him some nutrient soup.
"Fiona, what brings you here?"
Sophie Sullivan was speechless. She really didn’t have the energy to correct Old Mr. Standford’s nickname for her anymore.
She placed the insulated container on the bedside table, sat down in the chair by the bed, and gestured with her chin. "I brought you some nutrient soup. Remember to drink it later."
George Stanford grinned, his face crinkling into a landscape of wrinkles. "Not bad, not bad. Fiona, you still have a conscience after all."
Sophie Sullivan nodded perfunctorily, her gaze distant.
