Chapter 608: Chapter 611: Did Something Happen to Lucifer?

George Stanford reached out his hand, wanting Sophie Sullivan to help pour the soup for him.

Sophie, however, didn’t notice, leaving his hand to stiffen in mid-air.

"Fiona?"

When she didn’t respond, George Stanford had to raise his voice. "Fiona, what are you thinking?" The shout caused pain in his ribs.

Sophie came back to her senses and shook her head. "Not thinking about anything..."

She wondered how Thomas Shannon would punish Raina Bell.

He wouldn’t let her go with him. Well, so what if he didn’t? She didn’t even want to go!

Anyway, after today, Raina Bell wouldn’t be parading around in front of her anymore.

Thinking of this, her depressed mood improved a bit.

"Old Mr. Standford, what do you need me for?" Sophie looked at George Stanford, whose face was crumpled from the pain in his ribs.

George Stanford pointed to the soup on the bedside table. "Pour me some soup..."

As Sophie poured the soup, she looked at George Stanford. "Old Mr. Standford, if you hadn’t gone abroad for academic exchange, none of this would have happened, right? Maybe I could have had my second surgery..."

George Stanford was furious. "Fiona, is that something a human being should say?"

What did she mean, none of this would have happened if he hadn’t gone abroad for academic exchange?

"And you don’t even think about who caused me to suffer all these inhuman torments!"

The corners of Sophie’s lips curled up. "Yes, yes, it’s my fault for dragging you into this. Old Mr. Standford, please get well soon."

After bickering with Old Mr. Standford in the medical office for a while, Sophie returned to the castle.

Thomas Shannon hadn’t returned yet; he was probably still in the dark cell. Sophie sat on the sofa. How exactly will Thomas Shannon deal with Raina Bell?

"MEOW..."

Harry, who had just woken up from a nap with his belly exposed, lazily meowed and opened his eyes.

Sophie tutted. "Harry, you’re exposed."

Harry scratched his head with a paw, turned over, stood up, then swayed as he walked to her side and flopped down, curling into a ball.

As Sophie gently stroked his furry little head, she couldn’t help but think of the tiger in the desert...

That feeling back then was truly marvelous.

When she saw that tiger, a voice inside her heart had strongly reminded her that it wouldn’t hurt her.

And indeed, not only had the tiger not hurt her, but it had also saved her.

Thinking of the image of the tiger frantically chasing after the helicopter as she left the desert, her heart ached.

If only she could see it again someday.

While waiting for Thomas Shannon to return, Sophie took out her mobile phone and called Lucifer.

Leo picked up the call.

His tone didn’t seem quite right, as if he was suppressing something. "Miss Cecilia Branford, are you looking for His Highness?"

"Leo, what’s wrong with your voice?"

"Nothing, Miss Cecilia Branford. His Highness is already asleep and cannot answer the phone."

"I see... How is his health? What did the doctor say?"

"The doctor said... everything is normal."

After a pause, Leo continued, "Miss Cecilia Branford, Mr. and Mrs. Duke miss His Highness dearly, so His Highness will be returning to Country F in the next two days. If you need anything, you can contact Derek Clark. I’ll send you his number later. During His Highness’s absence from Country A, if you need anything, you can contact him."

Sophie didn’t fully believe Leo’s words. "Leo, tell me the truth, did something happen to Lucifer?"

"Miss Cecilia Branford, you’re overthinking it. His Highness is fine; there’s nothing wrong."
