Chapter 675: Chapter 678: Save Me...Lucifer, Save Me

Sophie Sullivan took the milk and sipped it slowly.

William Guillen, Edward Benson, and Thomas Shannon were already chatting. Sophie listened for a while; it seemed they were discussing company matters.

She leaned against the sofa in boredom. After finishing her milk, she put the cup back on the tea table.

Although Thomas Shannon was engaged in the conversation, his gaze would occasionally fall on her face.

Seeing her leaning listlessly against the sofa, he seemed to realize that a young woman like her might be bored while three men discussed business.

Thomas Shannon leaned in and whispered by her ear, "Bored?"

Sophie nodded listlessly.

"There’s a cinema downstairs. Want to watch a movie?"

"Sure." Sophie made to get up, but Thomas Shannon held her down with one hand. He chuckled and said, "I’ll have Charlie River call a couple of female managers to go with you. There’s also a shopping center here. You can browse and buy whatever you like."

Sophie replied perfunctorily, "Alright."

Thomas Shannon personally escorted her out of the private room and gave some instructions to Charlie River. He watched Sophie leave with Charlie River and the man in black before returning to the private room.

As soon as he sat down, Lan Singh teased, "Thomas, it looks like that maniac has you completely wrapped around her finger."

If it were in the past, Thomas Shannon would have definitely scoffed at that.

He would have retorted that no woman in the world possessed such an ability.

But now, Thomas Shannon just hooked his lips in a smile, picked up his wine glass, took a light sip, and neither refuted nor spoke.

He seemed to tacitly agree.

Charlie River called two female managers to accompany Sophie Sullivan to the cinema.

In the vast projection room, there were only Sophie and the two female managers.

They were watching a well-made Hollywood science fiction blockbuster with realistic special effects. Perhaps because her mind was elsewhere, Sophie found she couldn’t continue watching halfway through.

She felt drowsy and leaned against the chair back, unwittingly drifting off to sleep.

The two female managers exchanged a glance. Not daring to wake her, they let her sleep.

The air conditioning in the projection room was quite strong. Fearing she might catch a cold, one of the female managers thoughtfully found a blanket and covered her with it.

The movie ended, but Sophie still hadn’t woken up.

The man in black entered. Seeing Sophie asleep, he had no choice but to stand guard in the projection room and wait for her to awaken.

「Black.」

Pitch black, so dark she couldn’t see her hand in front of her face.

In the darkness, Sophie fumbled about, moving forward slowly.

It was as if the entire world had forgotten her. In the darkness, the fear in her heart magnified infinitely.

Suddenly, a dazzling light appeared ahead. She thought she saw an exit and ran frantically towards that bright spot, drawing closer, ever closer.

Two shadowy figures appeared, blocking her path. Terrified, she retreated step by step.

She couldn’t discern the faces of the shadows, only the glint of a cold, gleaming knife that stung her eyes.

"Who are you? Don’t come any closer..."

She pleaded desperately, but the shadows closed in, pinning her to the ground. The cold, gleaming knife slashed her face, again and again.

A piercing, bone-deep pain.

"Don’t... Don’t come any closer... Save me... Lucifer, save me..."

In the quiet projection room, Sophie, sound asleep in her chair, suddenly furrowed her brow. Fine beads of cold sweat broke out on her forehead. Her voice trembled as she cried out helplessly.

"Oh no, she’s having a nightmare," one of the female managers murmured. She glanced at the man in black and asked, "Should we wake her up?"

The man in black nodded. The female manager immediately and gently patted Sophie’s cheek. "Miss, wake up! You’re having a nightmare."

The man in black immediately notified Thomas Shannon, who was at the bar upstairs.

Upon receiving the call, Thomas Shannon immediately set down his wine glass. His expression darkened, and he rose, striding quickly out.
