Chapter 702: Chapter 705: Did Thomas Shannon bully you again?

Having learned her lesson from having her mobile phone confiscated, Sophie Sullivan had smartly memorized Lucifer’s number long ago.

The call disconnected.

Sophie Sullivan was stunned for a good while before realizing Lucifer had hung up on her!

A few seconds later, the phone rang again. It was Lucifer calling back. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

Sophie Sullivan slowly breathed a sigh of relief and answered the phone, "Lucifer..."

"Just as I thought, it’s Cecilia Branford calling me."

At first, seeing an unknown number, Lucifer had dismissed it and hung up. A moment later, however, he realized the area code was for Country A and immediately called back.

Indeed, just as he’d suspected, it was Cecilia Branford calling him.

"Thomas Shannon snatched my mobile phone, so I had no choice but to steal someone else’s to call you," Sophie Sullivan said, shrugging helplessly as she feigned nonchalance.

In reality, she was so furious she wanted to pummel Thomas Shannon.

"My dear, has Thomas Shannon been bullying you again?"

The answer was obvious, but Lucifer still wanted to hear the truth from her.

Sophie Sullivan lay on the bed. "He bullied me," she said, "and not only that, he wants others to bully me too."

She didn’t believe the appearance of Minimus Hart and Raina Bell was a coincidence.

Lucifer’s eyes darkened, his handsome face frosting over, yet his voice remained gentle. "Cecilia, shall I take you home?"

Country F was her home. Who did Thomas Shannon think he was, daring to imprison her!

"Lucifer, that’s exactly what I was thinking, but not right now." Sophie Sullivan had sounded out George Stanford earlier today, asking if he was willing to leave Country A and establish himself elsewhere.

George Stanford hesitated. His gaze was vacant as he stared at a fixed point. After a long silence, he finally shook his head. He didn’t want to leave Country A, and Sophie Sullivan thought she understood why.

William Guillen’s mother was in Country A, as was the woman he loved. How could he possibly bear to leave this country? Besides, Country A was his motherland; how could he ever leave it so easily?

Since Sophie Sullivan planned to leave, she selfishly hoped Old Mr. Stanford would go with her. After all, her face still required reparative surgery, and she wanted to prevent anyone from using Old Mr. Stanford to threaten her. Taking him with her, keeping him by her side, was the safest course of action.

Old Mr. Stanford’s unwillingness to leave was within her expectations. That being the case, she could only settle for the next best thing: complete her second reparative surgery and then leave. As for subsequent surgeries, she would have to find another way.

The phone call lasted over an hour.

After hanging up, Sophie Sullivan deleted the call history, left the room, and, while the nurse was still asleep, stealthily returned the mobile phone.

...

Another late night.

Thomas Shannon, slightly drunk, pressed a hand to his forehead. He refused Charlie River’s attempt to support him and made his own way upstairs to the bedroom.

"What did she do all day?"

Although he hadn’t specified who "she" was, Charlie River knew Thomas Shannon meant the maniac.

"Young Master, the maniac spent the entire day in the medical office. She ate and walked with Dr. Stanford, but mostly kept to her room."

"She didn’t go looking for trouble with Minimus Hart?"

The corner of Thomas Shannon’s mouth hooked slightly. Minimus Hart was also recuperating in a room in the medical office. Knowing Sophie Sullivan’s temperament, would she really let Minimus Hart off the hook?

Charlie River replied, "No, the maniac didn’t go looking for trouble with Minimus Hart."

"And Minimus Hart?"

"Young Master, Minimus Hart wouldn’t dare provoke the maniac, even if she had a thousand times the nerve, let alone cause her trouble."
