Chapter 723: Chapter 726: Her Body and Soul, Both Belong to Me

"Miss Cecilia Branford, are you awake?" Leo came out of the study room, closing the door behind him.

Sophie Sullivan nodded. "Is Lucifer busy?"

"His Highness is on the phone; it’s not convenient to go in right now," Leo said tactfully.

Understanding the hint, Sophie Sullivan nodded. "Alright, then I’ll wait for him downstairs."

"Okay." Leo smiled and went downstairs with her.

「Inside the study room」

Lucifer gripped his mobile phone, standing before the floor-to-ceiling windows. "You heard right, it was Cecilia Branford calling me. Thomas Shannon, Cecilia Branford is mine, and no one can take her away from me."

Thomas Shannon scoffed. "Lucifer, how many more years do you have left to live?"

Lucifer’s smile froze at the corners of his mouth, his eyes suddenly glinting with cruelty. A storm brewed intensely within their depths.

"Lucifer, you know your own body. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have stood by and idly allowed her to fall for another man and get engaged to someone else."

Thomas Shannon let out a low chuckle, the sound particularly grating. "Honestly, Fennie is already mine; her body and soul are mine."

Lucifer’s lips thinned, twisting into a bloodthirsty, captivatingly demonic smile. "Intimacy between a man and a woman is perfectly natural. You were merely serving Cecilia Branford; don’t think too highly of yourself."

Serving? Thomas Shannon thought. Instead of anger, he laughed. "At least I *can* serve her. Lucifer, can you?"

"Thomas Shannon, since I brought Cecilia Branford back, your relationship with her is to be completely severed from now on. Don’t harass her again, or I won’t spare you."

"Don’t speak so confidently. Let’s wait and see whether she returns to my side, or if I’m the one ’harassing’ her."

Thomas Shannon hung up the phone.

Lucifer clenched his mobile phone, cursing under his breath, "Damn it!"

Sophie Sullivan played with Gaby downstairs for a while before Lucifer finally came down.

"Cecilia Branford, have you been waiting long?"

Sophie Sullivan had just tossed an apple into the air when Gaby leaped up, opened its mouth, and the apple landed neatly inside.

Gaby returned to Sophie Sullivan’s side, lay down at her feet, and leisurely ate the apple.

"Lucifer, I’m hungry..." Sophie Sullivan complained, her face a picture of mock distress.

Lucifer quickly walked over and took her hand. "Alright, my fault. Let’s go eat."

Despite Lucifer’s efforts to conceal it, Sophie Sullivan’s sharp eyes noticed something was amiss.

She put down her knife and fork, picked up her water cup, and took a sip. "Lucifer, are you in a bad mood?"

"No."

"Don’t lie to me; I can tell." Saying this, Sophie Sullivan reached out, her fingertips gently touching his brow, smoothing the furrows there.

Sophie Sullivan couldn’t help but think of Thomas Shannon; he must have realized she had escaped by now.

She wondered how Old Mr. Standford was and if he had been implicated by her actions.

And the three doctors?

Were they alright?

"Is it because of Thomas Shannon that you’re troubled?"

"No," Lucifer denied solemnly. Seeing her thoughtful expression, as if she didn’t believe his words, Lucifer changed the subject. "Derek Clark called. He said Dr. Standford took the initiative to contact him."

Sophie Sullivan’s face grew serious. "Old Mr. Standford contacted Derek Clark? How is he?"

"Cecilia Branford, don’t worry, Dr. Standford is fine. He also rejected Derek Clark’s offer to take him away. He’s still in the medical office and said everything is normal, so you shouldn’t worry."

"Everything is normal?" Sophie Sullivan shook her head. "How is that possible?"
