The first night arrived after Zhao Rong moved into the dormitory of the campus belle, Lili. In his entire life, Zhao Rong had never shared a room with a girl, let alone spent the night with one. Blushing, he looked at her and said, "Actually, we could wait until later, when it’s quiet... If we start now and someone drops by, we’d have to stop suddenly. That would be rather awkward."

Hearing this, Lili shot him a glare. "Don’t get the wrong idea, Zhao Rong. I asked you to move in here to protect me, not to... do that with me. Don’t you know? The Serpent Monster loves to prowl at night. It comes and goes without a trace and is utterly terrifying. So, for safety’s sake, we must draw the curtains and lock the door."

Hearing how terrifying the creature was, Zhao Rong asked, "The Serpent Monster? What exactly is it that you make it sound so mysterious?"

"When it crawls, it looks like a snake," Lili told him. "But when it transforms, it becomes a gigantic monster. Its power is incredible, and very few of its targets ever escape."

Hearing how incredible the Serpent Monster sounded, Zhao Rong was suddenly eager to see it. He wanted to find out what this so-called monster was really like in this parallel world.

At 10:30 PM, Lili yawned and asked Zhao Rong, "Do you want to shower first, or should I?"
