Chapter 51: Dining time

The messed up first impression and dinner talks.

BAAM

Evelyn was in sync with the good, her body streamlined, mirroring the floor surface and nice red inner lining of skirt was camouflaging with the beautiful carpet placed beneath the table. Her eyes were spinning.

"NOOOO, YOUNG MISS EVELYN." Her maid shouted who was standing side the pillar at first along with other maids.

Caelion simply said two words.

"OH LORD" and rubbed his temple again looking at the ceiling.

Few minutes ago—

Aurelion stepped forward. As a forever single guy in his previous life the only time felt a woman’s touch was when he was born, the only time a woman had smiled at him was through a screen, while he watched a movie and lastly, the only time a woman had called his name was when his landlady had to remind him that his rent was due, and then even she forgot his name.

The greatest Only incident happened with him was, when the only time a woman held his hand, he had to pay for it, and the sad part was that it wasn’t even a woman.

Aurelion remembered all the Kdramas and Cdramas he had watched. He did realized the fact that first impressions were much more important than they seemed on the surface. To level up his rizz, he pulled the chair for her while closing his eyes to look more gentlemanly. What he did not realized was that Evelyn had already reached the end of the chair and was bending to sit on it.

BAAM she fell.

The whole room became chaotic. Her personal maid rushed to help her. Caelion came closer to check on her.

"Your Grace, Should I ask the healer to come?" Rhael asked Caelion.

Caelion nodded but then, the sweet little Evelyn spoke "That won’t be needed. I’m fine." Caelion gestured Rhael to still go and call him.

"How could we do that, young miss? You are our guess, we cannot just leave you without getting checked." Caelion stated.

Aurelion was standing blank for few seconds, not realizing what just happened. Caelion tapped on Aurelion’s shoulder again, Aurelion understood his hidden message. Then, he finally extended his hand to her.

"I am sorry, Miss Knightheart. I was just pulling the chair for you to sit." He said.

"Maybe, you did not liked seeing me here, your highness." She giggled and said as a light joke to break the tension.

Aurelion supported and picked her up. He stood in front of her.

"I apologize with all my heart, Miss Evelyn. I had no ill intention, just wanted to look good in front of you." Aurelion flustered.

"Also, there’s no way I could do such a thing to someone as Cute as you." He added.

"Cute... I forgive you then." She giggled. "Also, it was just a light joke to release the tension in the room."

The Healer entered. He used a basic healing spell on her due to Caelion’s persistence, even though there were no bruises. He assured everyone that there will be no pain and then he left.

"I was telling this already. There is no need to make such a big deal." Evelyn assured.

"But, young miss..." Her maid sombered.

Then, they had a quick chat with some light jokes and teasing mixed in it which settled down the room. Caelion gestured everyone to sit. "It’s time to eat, everyone." He said.

"Rhael, I have told you before there’s no need for you to eat separately or wait for me to eat. " He iterated to Rhael. "Come, join us." He gestured to sit. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

"This loyal aid of yours cannot dare to eat before his master. And eating along side while you are with the guests would be overstepping my boundaries. Please dine first, your Grace." Rhael answered.

The maids walked in line, they brought the food trays and trolley of beverages with them. All types of food could be found and in a good quantity too but for Aurelion who grew as a Crown Prince, this could no longer be categorized into a feast. The maid started serving into the plates.

"Geez... It slipped my mind that you two will be here tonight. Forgive me for not preparing a feast for you." Caelion initiated.

"There’s no need to ask for forgiveness, your Grace. The dishes look enticing and welcoming. It’s me who should apologize to disturb you and your fellow researchers when you already busy." Evelyn gave a humble response.

"Miss Evelyn is right, Uncle Cael. Also, if we feel like we need a proper feast from you, we will give you a proper visit at the Lunaris Mansion." Aurelion supported her response.

"Oh my, so we are already at " We". Looks like my nephew is quite in a hurry to get married." Caelion teased him.

"Wait... I didn’t. I mean, I wasn’t—" Both Evelyn and Caelion laughed at seeing Aurelion so flustered.

In front of Caelion, this might have been his first time acting like someone of his age, getting easily flustered and feeling shy from the talks of marriage.

The teasing stopped. Aurelion was cutting the steak with a knife, when he looked up towards Evelyn, considering the situation he thought this is the right to bring his pitch up.

THE MOOD IS LOOKING GOOD, RIGHT NOW. SINCE, I AM ALREADY HERE, I MIGHT AS WELL USE THIS CHANCE TO GET TO KNOW HER BETTER AND TALK ABOUT HER THOUGHTS. Aurelion thought.

He cleanly put the knife down on his right hand side, shoved his head up and looked at Evelyn. "Miss Evelyn...," He called, "Would it be alright for us to have a private conversation about the engagement?"

Evelyn stopped chewing. " I mean, I won’t be able to converse with you after dinner but if it is something urgent, I shall make some time in my schedule right now." She answered.

"No worries, we can just have a sitting together, tomorrow. I hope that is okay with you though." Aurelion said.

"By any chance, are you trying to break the engagement?" She replied.
