Chapter 352: Injured

In a split second, before they could even blink, many thoughts filled Lu Mingshu’s mind.

Before they signed up for the debate, they considered many possibilities and ways to not meet the emperor. It was not easy to meet the emperor, but easy to not. However, man proposes, god disposes, who would have thought that this debate was just a game of chess between two leaders of different groups, the most important figures in the world?

No matter how accurate a plan was, it could be crushed by true strength.

Strength mattered the most amongst all factors.

But Lu Mingshu still didn’t want to die. She had much yet to be done. Revenge to take, and the favors to repay.

And Yan Wugui. Xie Lianzhen left Zhongzhou for her and ended up here together, partly because of her, so she should send him back to Zhongzhou safely!

“Get lost!” Yan Wugui pushed her to the side, and a light suddenly lit up from within his chest.

The light continued to enlarge, and the surroundings turned dark as if it was night. The image of a big dipper formed, and the first star of the big dipper shot out, spilling light over Lu Mingshu and Yan Wugui and encircling them.

“Eh?” The emperor was taken back.

But after all, he was still the emperor, towering over the world, and his attack could easily destroy mountains and cause huge destruction.

“Crack!” the shield formed by the starlight cracked and slowly fall apart.

Yan Wugui—-Nope, Xie Lianzhen, looked down and snapped his fingers furiously. Starlight flew around his hands and continuously repaired the shield—-This was the secret skill of an Alioth star lord. Yan Wugui and Xie Lianzhen trained with different methods, and only Xie Lianzhen would be able to use this skill as the one who knew about it.

However, the difference in their strength was too much no matter how much the Alioth star-lord increased his ability by using a secret skill

The emperor rolled his eyes and attacked again. It’s was such a waste of time and energy for him to attack a twice junior personally twice.

The starlight shield turned into ashes and fell to the ground. A light blue light shot past them, lighting up the forest in blue. The leftover water in the pond shot up and went towards Lu Mingshu and Xie Lianzhen, surrounding them. It was so close that they could even see the ripples and smell the water.

“Boom—” an explosion was heard, and water flew everywhere.

The attack of the emperor passed them both.

“Crack!” The bottom of the pool had a crack, and both of them fell into it.

Leaving only the raging waters to swirl around mid-air.

The emperor furrowed his brows and waved his sleeves. With that, the water went back to where it belonged in the pool.

Everything turned back to how it was originally like, except for Lu Mingshu and Xie Lianzhen, who disappeared into thin air.

Qin Jun and Chu Zhengyan stood rooted to the ground.

It all occurred so fast that they did not even have time to react.

A light could be seen flying over and landing within the bamboo forest which was already turned into a mess.

It was a scholar dressed in green, and he held a feather fan. Chu Zhengyan immediately kneeled upon seeing him. “Master.”

Master Bao Guang raised his fan. “No need for such formalities.” He turned to the emperor. “Well, I would never expect two younger generation cultivators would have such a treasure with them.”

The emperor did not reply, but he stared blankly at the place they disappeared, as if in deep thought.

“They have fallen into the heart of clouds, and it’s going to be troublesome if we want to get them out. We will have to shut down all the spell formations and who knows how it would affect our production the next year.” Master Bao Guang shook his head and smiled. “This loss is not worth two kids in the purity soul phase.”

The emperor smiled thinly and nodded. “Yes, You make sense. Since that’s the case, we’ll spare ourselves the trouble. Even if they did not die from my attack, they would have been fatally injured.”

He turned around and yelled. “Come here!”

In the blink of an eye, the three freezing spirit elders who were guarding the sea of clouds appeared from the fog, and bowed together. “Your majesty.”

“Settle this.”

“Yes.”

The emperor then turned to Master Bao Guang who was next to him. “Please.”

“I see the emperor off.” Master Bao Guang bowed.

The emperor slowly faded away and disappeared.

“Master.” Chu Zhengyan greeted.

After the guards and Qin Jun left, leaving only him and his disciple, Master Bao Guang shook his head. “Your performance this round was just okay. Not as scheming as Nie Rufei or accurate as the girl from the Jiang’s family.”

He said it calmly, but it sent Chu Zhengyan and his junior breaking into a cold sweat as they kneeled almost immediately, asking for forgiveness. “Your disciple did not do his duty well, please punish me, master.”

“No need.” Master Bao Guang smiled. “You may not have performed well this round, but for this situation, it’s perfect. The emperor is planning to make the Nie family stronger, so we should let them have the spotlight as he wishes.”

Seeing that his master wasn’t angry with him, Chu Zhengyan heaved a sigh of relief. He looked at his master and asked cautiously. “Master, what is the emperor planning? The old codger has already stepped into the trap; why did the emperor let him off so easily?”

Master Bao Guang laughed and shook his head. “Do you think that spiritual master Fa Xiang is that easy to get rid of? Even if the emperor and I joined hands, we could only at most injure him.” He paused for a moment before continuing. “Moreover, the emperor has not recovered from his obsession, why would he make an all-out effort?”

Chu Zhengyan’s eyes widened in shock. “Wasn’t the news of him being in obsession just to bait the other party out?”

“That’s what I thought as well.” Master Bao Guang said. “But after the fight, I realized that it was true. Just that it isn’t as serious as the rumor said it was. The emperor wanted to trick the old man and take the chance to seriously injure him so he could heal peacefully. But who would have expected that the old man’s ability was out of the ordinary and could cause the emperor’s injury to resurge.”

“This….” Chu Zhengyan suddenly remembered something, and his face lit up.

Bao Guang master glanced at him.

Chu Zhengyan bit his lips shut immediately.

“Okay, we shall get going too. After this, we can enjoy peace for a long….”

Master Bao Guang waved his sleeve and walked out of the foggy woods.

“Master.” Chu Zhengyan caught up to him, pointing at the pool. “Are they really alienators?”

“Yes.”

“They are quite talented too, and maybe even more so than Fu Yun. Why did the old codger not bring them along?”

“Erm, well…..”

“Warning! Warning! Your body is seriously damaged and urgently in need of repair.”

Lu Mingshu heard Xiao Sang’s voice ringing in her head in excruciating pain.

She pinched herself to ensure that she stayed awake and coughed. “Xiao Sang, how many points do I have?”

“You have seventeen accumulated points.”

“…..The reward has yet to arrive? I can only exchange for the basic treatment, right?”

“Yeah.”

“Okay, please exchange that.”

Warm energy flowed through her body as her injuries were treated one by one, and her meridians were slowly eased of pain, Lu Mingshu passed out again with that. But even so, there was still something on her mind. ~He is still alive, right?~
