Picking Up Attributes In Martial World-Chapter 114: Nasty Plans
Ye Jun had no clue where Mountain was, so he just contacted him and asked him to meet in the dining hall. Fortunately, the jade stone provided by the sect allowed communication within the sect.
’Basically a local area network.’
Just as he was passing a stone bridge, he saw three familiar faces. They were walking towards the bridge’s corner where the mountain jutted upwards like a beast’s maw.
They also noticed him and paused. Their faces turned ugly as they spoke to each other and then withdrew, dropping their plans. They were none other than the bitch and her two trucks.
"Woah! They are still at it," Ye Jun turned towards the stone fangs, already having a clue who was behind it. ’This woman...’
Sighing, he went behind it and just as he expected, he found He Wenxin standing there, fidgeting on her feet. Sensing someone’s arrival, she turned around and her eyebrows rose up in surprise.
"Still doing it?" Ye Jun asked.
"It’s working fine," He Wenxin said calmly. "You’re out of seclusion, huh."
"Yes, so you wouldn’t have to deliver food to me," Ye Jun said, knowing she was just trying to change the topic so he went along. "Seriously, thank you for that. It saved so much of my time."
Ye Jun couldn’t sustain himself on Qi for long, especially since he was using it for cultivation. That meant he had to come down the mountain every day to eat, but He Wenxin solved that problem by delivering food to him every day.
She didn’t have to do that, but she did just to chat with him for a few minutes while he ate. It was honestly the most relaxing moment of the day for him, but he couldn’t understand why she would go to such lengths for him.
She was definitely among the weirdest people he had ever met.
"We were just fulfilling each other’s promise," He Wenxin said, a soft smile forming on her lips. "If you’re here, then they won’t come here. Let’s go. I’ll treat you to something good in celebration of you completing your cultivation session."
Ye Jun shrugged. He was going there either way, so this suited him.
They left the place, neither talking about what was happening in that secret place. It was an understanding between them on what they wanted to discuss and what not.
When they reached the dining hall, they found it quite packed since it was still early morning. Fortunately, a giant man stood out and attracted attention, so they found their seat.
Mountain nodded upon seeing him. "Grown stronger. Congratulations."
Ye Jun eyed him because he was sitting on a different chair. As if sensing his questionable gaze, Mountain said, "I broke it. Weak wood."
"No, brother. You’re just too big," Ye Jun said, taking a seat at the table. "And thanks. It was a long but fruitful session."
Mountain turned towards He Wenxin and frowned. "Strange woman."
He Wenxin froze before relaxing. "I heard Ulankars are very sensitive to the world. Is that true?"
"Yes." Mountain nodded. "Mountain. You?"
"He Wenxin," she introduced herself politely. "I’m his acquaintance."
"Not friends?" Mountain asked.
"No," He Wenxin shook her head. "I know my limits."
"Hmm. Strange woman," Mountain was still frowning, perhaps confused about something.
They made their orders, which were based on Mountain’s recommendations. Ye Jun asked if he could cook for them, but he denied, saying that he had decided to stop cooking until he learned how to make Spirit Food.
"Damn dedication," Ye Jun cursed mildly. "What about the things you ordered? How are they?"
"As amazing as non-Spirit Food can be," Mountain said, pride in his voice. "The chef here is good. I like him."
"So, you’re progressing just fine, huh," Ye Jun noted.
"Yes. But will take time," Mountain said, shaking his head. "I am still learning the names, tastes, and other properties of various herbs and ingredients. They are important to make Spirit Food."
"Good. I can’t wait for the day I’ll eat your meals," Ye Jun chuckled and said, turning towards He Wenxin. "Are you fine with this order?"
"Yes. I can eat most things," He Wenxin said softly.
Ye Jun frowned at her words, feeling like there was more to it but she was refusing to let it out.
"By the way, what are you going to do now?" she asked, changing the subject again. "Considering taking missions?"
"Not yet. I have other plans," Ye Jun smiled. "You’ll soon see me in action. Lots of action."
"Interesting." Mountain laughed and patted his back. "Will come and support you."
Just as they were talking, the dining hall’s doors burst open, garnering attention from every corner of the hall. Even the waiters and waitresses paused and turned towards that direction.
At the entrance stood five figures. Two young men in their mid-twenties wearing the usual White Gale Pavilion’s uniform robes. But there was a black band around their arms, with two stars shining on them.
Behind them were three women whom Ye Jun instantly recognized. Seeing them, he wasn’t even surprised, but the other two were different.
As he had read about the sect in the Scripture Hall, he knew what that band represented. The Law Enforcement Hall, whose disciples maintained law and order within the sect.
Ye Jun had a feeling that they were here for him. It wasn’t hard to guess considering he had offended the trio who had some connections in the Law Enforcement Hall.
They could suppress He Wenxin by themselves, but he was different, so they finally sought help from them.
’They have a plan,’ he was sure of it, so he turned towards He Wenxin. ’It probably involves her. Only she was in contact with them and also me.’
Thinking of that, he shifted closer to He Wenxin and whispered, "Don’t mind if I take some liberties with you because I’m sure they’ve planned something nasty."
"I’ll be fine," He Wenxin replied. "You can do whatever you want."
"Much better." He smiled.
"Who here is He Wenxin?" one of the Law Enforcement Hall disciples roared. "Where is she? Daring to commit crimes in broad daylight, do you consider us as a joke?"
