Player Awakening: I Become A Lord In Game-Like World-Chapter 47: The End of the Monster Chaos Event
Caleb turned his head, exchanging a brief glance with Jennie. Jennie laughed, she noticed Liliana’s awkward attitude but she didn’t know what made her act like that.
"I’m fine, it’s just my stone gate and stone wall aren’t fine," Caleb said, replying to Liliana’s question.
"Fortunately, my city’s walls and gates can still survive until the event is over. That keeps my town safe from the threat of monsters," Caleb explained, crossing his arms.
"Thank goodness."
The man invited Liliana and Jennie to go to the Alliance Center building, letting them remain there until the Monster Chaos Event settled down. Neither of them refused Caleb’s order. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
An hour passed, Caleb got an information panel about the completed stone gate and stone wall repair process.
[DING! Congratulations, your building has been repaired]
[Building:]
[3 Stone Gate]
[27m Stone Wall]
The building process that has been completed was good news for Caleb. At least for the previous hour, there was no sign of another horde of monsters coming to attack.
Arash was still standing on top of the city wall, watching the southern part while still spreading his First Bowman units to the four stone gates, just in case any monsters came to attack.
"How is it?" Caleb asked Arash.
"Everything is safe. No monsters detected approaching," he replied.
"That’s good. Stay alert until the event is over," Caleb said, Arash nodded in agreement.
He stepped out of the city center to arrive at the Alliance Center, meeting up with Liliana and Jennie who were still there.
When Caleb arrived, he saw the two women sitting next to each other while talking to each other. The awkwardness between them slowly faded away, especially when Jennie played the role of an older sister to Liliana.
"You seem to be getting close to each other," Caleb explained, pleased.
They turned their heads, then smiled as Caleb walked over to them. Jennie got up from her seat, saying that she was going back to her town. That was because Jennie already knew how Caleb and his town were doing.
"Returning? But why not stay longer?" Caleb asked.
"I have a few things to do. Don’t worry, Liliana is here to keep you company," she said, smiling as she stroked the girl’s head of hair.
Caleb nodded. Jennie said goodbye and headed back to her town with her scout unit. Now, only Caleb and Liliana remained in the Alliance Center meeting room.
"What do you think of her?" Caleb asked.
"She’s a mature, understanding, and intelligent woman. When I talk to her, it’s as if I have an older sister in this place," Liliana replied, her face flushed.
"That’s good. You can think of her as your closest person."
"You don’t have to worry. She won’t betray you," Caleb continued.
Liliana cleared her throat, her head bowed in a reluctant manner to look Caleb directly in the eye.
Caleb had noticed a change in Liliana’s demeanor, right from the moment she and Jennie spoke together in this place.
"You must be lonely here. Come on, let’s go to the city center," Caleb said.
The girl nodded, gave Caleb a brief look and walked after him. The two of them arrived at the city center, they still saw black clouds filling the continental sky, a sign that the Monster Chaos Event was not over yet.
"This event will be over in an hour. You’d better wait longer here and not go home early, I’m worried about your safety," Caleb replied.
"Why did you choose to worry about me?" asked Liliana, a question that surprised Caleb.
Caleb was silent for a moment, not knowing why Liliana would say that. The man did have his own purpose why he insisted on protecting the girl, he was typically loyal, obedient, and good at managing the economy.
Even so, Caleb did not deny that Liliana was terrible at war and so on. However, that was not an obstacle for Caleb. In the future, when many alliances were formed and devil towers had appeared, resources became important to an alliance.
In the future, Liliana would be an important pawn for Caleb to reach the top of this game, again.
"Because you’re my friend. I won’t let my friend die silly!" Caleb declared, looking at Liliana with a strong look in his eyes.
Liliana cleared her throat. Actually, she was expecting an answer that was more than just a friend, but she realized that her equality with Caleb was different.
The girl was just a casual player of the Lord of Empires game, unlike Caleb who was a professional called Kings of King.
That’s right! The conversation between her and Jennie was fully used to dig up Caleb’s identity.
At first, Jennie was reluctant to tell Liliana the truth. However, Liliana insisted on knowing because they were in an alliance.
Lying in an alliance does not create trust between members. If Caleb intended to hide his identity as the real CL_Ellise so that people would not rely on him, then Liliana could ask Jennie as Caleb’s old friend.
Even so, she had promised not to tell Caleb that she knew the truth about him. Jennie asked her to promise not to tell until they reached town hall level 10.
With the town hall reaching level 10, each player can be said to have stabilized in 3 fields: defense, strength, and economy.
An hour passed, a notification panel appeared and informed Caleb that he had successfully passed the Monster Chaos event. This made him eligible for three main prizes
[Monster Chaos Event completed]
[DING! Congratulations, you survived the Monster Chaos Event]
[Kingdom Power +500]
[DING! Congratulations, you got the grand prize of the Monster Chaos Event]
[3 Mid Level Treasure Chests]
[3 High Level Treasure Chests]
In total, Caleb earned around six treasure chests from his hard work to withstand the waves of monster horde attacks. By doing so, Caleb got a high chance to receive the best items he never expected before.
The black clouds disappeared, the blue sky returned and made Liliana feel relieved. After the situation was safe enough, Liliana said goodbye to Caleb.
"Wait," Caleb said.
"Let me and my cavalry unit take you there."
