Chapter 481: Chapter 481: The Chase—Racing Motorcycle and Maybach

Julian Lawson grabbed the keys beside him and quickly went downstairs to catch up.

Silas Hawthorne carried Serena Sterling downstairs.

They quickly reached the bike he had ridden over.

"I’m sorry, Serena, I came late." Silas gently cradled Serena’s face and spoke softly.

Serena smiled slightly and said, "Not late, just in time."

Watching him straddle the bike, Serena reached out and wrapped her arms around his waist.

"Hold on tight," his voice came from the front.

"Okay." Serena responded softly.

The motorbike roared to life, swiftly carrying them away from there.

When Julian Lawson got downstairs, Serena and Silas had already left.

There were traces of two vehicles on the ground.

One was the car he had driven Serena over in.

The other was a two-wheeled vehicle, a motorbike.

Julian immediately got into the car, started it, and chased after them.

It was already afternoon, and the sun was slanting slightly westward.

The two vehicles sped along the country road.

Silas glanced at the Maybach shadow in the rearview mirror and smiled coldly.

After finishing the call with Chloe Langley, he immediately dialed Isla Lawson again.

He asked, "Isla, did Julian Lawson go to Moonlight Manor last night?"

"Yes, we even had people watching him, but lost track." Isla answered hurriedly.

"What car was Julian driving when he went to Moonlight Manor yesterday?" Silas continued.

Isla was uncertain but tried to recall, having glanced at the time she left.

She said, "A Maybach."

"Go and ask the person who was knocked out when Julian left." Silas asked.

He already had a suspicion by then.

While synchronizing information with Chloe, he waited for Isla’s update.

"Just an hour and a half ago." Isla’s message came through.

An hour and a half, it takes about half an hour from Moonlight Manor to their location.

Serena was abducted roughly half an hour ago.

Only a half-hour gap in between.

Julian had to prepare a disguise and find a way to breach security to enter the dressing room, hence no time to switch vehicles.

The car driving out from another direction was his, but it could be driven by someone else from the garage.

Moments later, Chloe sent him a message, tracking and locating the traces.

Silas immediately rushed over.

As he arrived, the cross-river bridge was congested.

Therefore, he abandoned his car, bought a bike from a nearby pedestrian, and rushed over quickly.

Silas looked at the car shadow behind.

"You better pray the bridge isn’t jammed on the return." Silas murmured, squinting his eyes filled with hatred.

During their wedding, his wife was forcibly abducted.

Silas Hawthorne, and Julian Lawson are irreconcilable!

"Serena, I need to speed up. Hold onto me, it might get a bit cold." Silas said to Serena.

"Okay." Serena tightened her grip.

She leaned against his back.

She waited for him.

Different from before in the apartment, as long as she believed in him, he would arrive in time.

"Vroom vroom!"

The engine revved quickly, and the bike suddenly surged forward.

Julian Lawson in the Maybach behind saw the motorbike speed up and also accelerated.

There’s still a distance to the cross-river bridge; the two vehicles were chasing each other.

Speeding towards the city.

Vroom vroom vroom...

The sound of engines echoed throughout the road.

Serena’s long trailing wedding gown fluttered, tinted orange in the setting sun.

Her previously tied hair began to unravel with the wind.

The flowers pinned in her hair scattered onto the ground with the breeze.

Journalists scattered all over Aeston finally arrived.

But they were all blocked on the other side of the cross-river bridge.

"Why are there so many cars!"

"Let me through!"

"Damn it, I need the headline!"

"Hahaha, I’m the winner, brought the drone!"

...

Woo woo woo...

A strange sound came.

Serena looked up to see several drones hovering nearby.

And they’re moving closer towards them.

Silas and Julian also noticed the drones, but neither of them cared.

One wanted to intercept, and the other wanted to bring his beloved woman back to this city.

While the chase continued, the online world buzzed.

Silas’ pageantry in picking up his bride in the morning sparked wide discussion.

When Serena was abducted, all of Aeston nearly turned upside down, helicopters joined the search, attracting innumerable attention.

Now, as evening fell, everyone thought Serena and Silas couldn’t proceed with the wedding, yet here they were.

"Here they come, he’s coming, the groom is bringing back his bride on a motorbike!"

"Damn, these two are so fast, aren’t they afraid of being ticketed?"

"Upstairs, talking about speeding at a time like this? Can’t you see, he’s rescuing his wife! Turning himself in later is fine."

"Wow, they’re way too cool!"

"Who do you think will get the bride, Silas or Julian?"

"Julian, Maybach is faster than a motorbike."

"I think it’ll be Silas."

"Am I the only one noticing how beautiful Serena’s wedding dress is?"

...

Online, discussions surged.

In the real world, the distance between the vehicles shortened.

Though Silas with Serena departed first, it was still a motorbike.

Fortunately, the cross-river bridge wasn’t far ahead.

Silas saw the long queue and glanced at the Maybach in the rearview mirror.

Julian also saw the long traffic jam, looking very unhappy.

Online, excitement bubbled up further.

"Bridge congestion!"

"I wondered why Silas suddenly rode a big motorbike, turns out it was due to bridge congestion!"

"Can motorbikes cross when the bridge is jammed?"

"Don’t know, but squeeze through maybe?"

"Julian will lose?"

"Not necessarily, control ahead!"

"What? Who’s controlling?"

...

It’s Ian Yates.

He was diving headfirst into it; upon seeing online news, he realized the bridge was heavily jammed.

He immediately gathered some people to control the traffic flow from other direction entrances, leaving just Julian’s returning route.

But even with only this route, it remained slightly congested.

"Vroom vroom!"

The engine revved; facing the traffic ahead, Silas with Serena squeezed to the side to get through.

While Julian continued pursuing, but his speed was clearly slower, barely increasing.

The distance between the vehicles grew further.

At this moment, Ian also called.

"What’s the matter?" Julian gritted his teeth.

"Ethan Lynch and Jasper Ford are waiting on the bridge, Mr. Lawson, they plan to block you." Ian’s voice came through.
