Playtime's Over, CEO: She's Really Done With You-Chapter 480: He Will Come for Me, Even If It’s My Corpse
Julian Lawson’s expression was terrifying.
He looked as if he might explode at any moment.
Serena looked at him; they were once the closest of lovers.
He had his own difficulties.
But she, too, had her own pain.
Between them, the last chance was long gone.
She said, "Julian, I can’t pretend that everything in the past never existed."
"The moment we lost our second child, we were already over."
No matter how many difficulties or reasons beyond their control there were, ultimately... they stood separated by a life.
"I don’t believe it!" Julian Lawson stood up, his face twisted with agony, "Serena, you’re just lying to me! You still have me in your heart!"
Serena said nothing, just looked at him sadly.
The silence was more terrifying than any argument.
Julian Lawson paced back and forth in the room, disregarding everything, wanting to scream, wanting to roar.
He felt like his world was about to collapse.
He had been clutching this straw of hope tightly, always telling himself that if he told her the whole truth, shared his difficulties, she would understand him, forgive him, and then they’d be together.
But...
But even though she said she could understand him, he didn’t get the ending he wanted.
He was about to break down!
Julian Lawson rushed in front of Serena, grabbed her shoulders, forcing her to look at him, "Serena, speak, tell me you’re lying to me!"
"Answer me!"
But Serena just looked at him with sorrow.
She said, "I’m not lying to you, Julian Lawson, I don’t love you anymore."
"Not love..." Julian Lawson laughed lowly, "Even if you don’t love, you can fall in love again."
He suddenly lifted his head, "We can start over, we’ll take it slowly, Serena, I’ll work hard to make you fall in love with me again!"
"It’s too late." Serena said softly, "Julian, I’ve already fallen in love with him, I’m Silas Hawthorne’s wife, today is our wedding day."
"You’re lying to me." Julian Lawson screamed recklessly.
He looked crazy and terrifying.
"How long have you known him, can he match our seven years?"
"Since you could fall in love with him in a few months, you can turn back and be with me!"
Serena still didn’t answer, just looked at him.
Julian Lawson knew that was her answer.
Rejection.
He hated this feeling of being out of control.
"Why?" he cried, asking her, "Why does it have to be like this?"
"Serena, tell me, why did it turn out like this?"
He thought everything could go back to the way it was, he thought he could control everything.
But everything had collapsed.
In the end, he couldn’t hold on to anything.
He reached out to wipe away her tears.
"Serena, if you don’t love me, then why are you crying?"
He cupped her face, leaning over.
He wanted to kiss her as before, but she turned her face away, avoiding him.
"Let me go." She said, "It’s useless, Julian, go out more, meet different people, maybe one day you’ll find that what you were once obsessed with, the pain, all disappeared, and then, maybe you’ll fall in love with someone else."
Julian Lawson laughed, his voice low and filled with pain, sounding like a madman.
"Is that how you fell in love with him?"
Serena didn’t answer.
The bedroom was silent.
No one knew how much time passed.
"I won’t go out, nor will I let you go." Julian Lawson opened his mouth, "I’ll lock you here, just the two of us."
Serena, scared, wanted to get up, but in the next moment Julian Lawson pressed her shoulder, pinning her against the headboard.
Looking at Julian Lawson like this, Serena’s body trembled slightly.
She remembered that day in the apartment.
He disregarded everything, wanting to force her.
His expression now was exactly the same as back then.
"Don’t..."
She was still wearing the wedding dress Silas Hawthorne had specially made for her.
Today was her wedding day with Silas Hawthorne.
"Serena, we’ll be together day and night like we used to be." He said, "Until you fall in love with me again."
Serena avoided his lips trying to kiss her, "We can’t be like before anymore."
"Why not?" Julian Lawson’s eyes were red, obstinately saying, "If you can be with him, you can also be with me."
Watching the changes in his eyes and body, Serena shrank back, but he pressed her shoulder.
"Don’t do this to me." She controlled herself, firmly saying, "Julian Lawson, didn’t you say you wouldn’t use force on me again?"
"I can’t do it." Julian Lawson said, "Every time I think of you being with him day and night, I go crazy."
"Julian Lawson." Serena’s nails dug into her palm, saying, "If you want to use force on me, then just kill me, maybe then I’ll be a little more obedient."
"I can’t bear it a second time." She said, looking at the man in front of her, but seeing Silas Hawthorne’s face instead, "This is the difference between you and him."
Serena looked at Julian Lawson in front of her, having cried too long, her eyes were swollen.
She thought of the days spent with Silas Hawthorne.
Remembering the days they held their breath, cried, and laughed together.
Today was her wedding day with Silas Hawthorne.
She was Silas Hawthorne’s wife.
"He always makes me happy, understands me, forgives me." She said.
"And you... Julian Lawson..."
Serena paused a bit, saying, "You always make me sad."
She turned her head, "Didn’t you say you love me? Then let me go."
"No." His eyes were red, "I only want you, I want to keep you by my side."
"You can’t do it." Serena turned her head to look at Julian Lawson, but her ears echoed with Silas Hawthorne’s words to her — [Serena, I’m always here.]
Not knowing where the confidence came from, she said, "He will come to save me."
"He will come to take me away."
Her tone was very firm, "Even if it’s just my body."
Julian Lawson wanted to say something, but at this moment—
"Bang!"
The bedroom door was kicked open, slamming against the wall with a loud noise.
Silas Hawthorne strode in.
His face was filled with terrible anger, he grabbed Julian Lawson’s collar and fiercely threw him to the ground to the side.
"Serena."
Silas Hawthorne’s eyes reddened, went over to untie the rope binding Serena’s hands.
"Silas..."
As soon as Serena’s hands were free, she threw herself into his arms.
All her previous emotions, upon meeting him, turned into grievances.
"It’s okay, I’m here." Silas Hawthorne patted her back, soothing her with a gentle voice.
When Julian Lawson got up, this was the scene he saw.
And then, he froze for a moment.
Before he could react to what he saw meant, Silas Hawthorne had already grabbed a nearby chair, throwing it at him again.
"Bang!"
Julian Lawson dodged the chair, and it shattered on the ground.
By the time Julian Lawson turned back, Silas Hawthorne was already carrying Serena and leaving.
