Please Let Me Go, My Contracted Ex-Husband.-Chapter 193 - - handsome guy
Chapter 193 - 193- handsome guy
To be honest, Cynthia's emotions were quite complex. Before returning to the country, she had repeatedly told herself to keep her distance from him, to act as if they were strangers.
But after being back for these past two days, she found that even the smallest gestures of his could move her, like the clumsy way he dressed Olive, or how he spoke to her with such tenderness, or how carefully he arranged her apartment, or the gentle way he looked at her when speaking...
Her heart was in turmoil, tangled like a mess of threads, so much so that every time she faced him, she wanted to run away. Her heart was afraid—afraid that she might slowly be drawn into his warmth and tenderness.
What she didn't realize was that this was because of love. His small actions were filling her heart. If she didn't love him, no matter what he did for her, her heart would remain as hard as iron, just like Quinn's unwavering devotion over the years.
In those four years, his gentle comfort, his silent companionship, and everything he did for her far surpassed the things Albert had done for her in just a few days. Yet, she had never once felt the need to run away, never felt flustered or uneasy. All she felt was endless guilt.
Lost in these thoughts, she looked up and realized they had already reached the entrance of Shengshi Hotel. As she walked up to the revolving door, she saw a black car parked in front of the hotel. Bonnie bent down and got out of the car. Cynthia was about to step forward and greet her, but then, from the other side of the car, a tall man stepped out.
This man had an elegant and handsome appearance, a refined demeanor that clearly suggested he came from a noble family. For some reason, as soon as she saw him, Cynthia felt a strange sense of familiarity, and despite usually not caring for the typical "handsome guy" type, she found herself oddly drawn to him.
The man had a smile on his lips as he walked up to Bonnie, who seemed displeased. He casually threw his arm around her shoulder, but Bonnie tried to brush off his hand, attempting to pull away. No matter how she struggled, however, his grip remained firm on her shoulder.
Watching the two of them entangled like this, Cynthia's steps faltered. She had heard rumors that Bonnie had mysteriously disappeared during the incident with the Laurence family four years ago, and after that, she had mysteriously married someone.
Of course, all of this information came from Vivian. Vivian knew only the surface details. They had brought up the matter with Bonnie more than once, but Bonnie always laughed it off, brushing the conversation aside. Both Cynthia and Vivian could see the discomfort in her eyes, and it was clear she didn't want to talk about it. So, neither of them pressed the issue further.
Meanwhile, Bonnie, frustrated and trying to get away from James, looked up and saw Cynthia standing there, her eyes smiling as she watched the two of them. A look of discomfort quickly crossed Bonnie's face. Gritting her teeth, she yanked James's hand off her shoulder, twisting it painfully. James howled in pain, and Bonnie took advantage of the opportunity to break free, rushing toward Cynthia.
"Cynthia, woo—finally, I get to see you! Ugh—"
Bonnie rushed over, throwing her arms around Cynthia. She alternated between tears, sighs, and smiles, overwhelmed with emotion.
Cynthia felt the same way. In fact, the only time they had seen each other over the past four years was when she came back to the country to help Albert. She had attended Rannie's wedding but didn't inform anyone, coming and leaving on the same day.
But that was when that man's life had been hanging by a thread, and there was no time for the kind of reunions they would have preferred—reminiscing about the carefree days of laughter and mischief. But no matter how much they longed for those times, they couldn't go back to the past.
"Cough, cough—"
As the two women almost burst into tears, a light cough interrupted them, a gentle reminder that they were still standing in the busy entrance of a hotel.
Embarrassed, they pulled apart. Bonnie wiped her eyes, then linked her arm with Cynthia's and said confidently, "Cynthia, tonight, we're going to catch up properly. We're not leaving until we're drunk!"
After saying this, she pulled Cynthia toward the hotel. But just as they were about to walk in, Cynthia glanced at the man still standing beside them, his smile never faltering. She stopped and quietly reminded Bonnie, "Bonnie, aren't you going to introduce me to this gentleman?"
Bonnie, feeling a bit embarrassed by the situation, glanced at the man and let out a frustrated sigh. She knew Cynthia was waiting for an introduction, but her hesitation was palpable.
"Ugh... This is... this is..." Bonnie stammered, trying to find the right words while avoiding the awkward tension.
The man, sensing the delay, stepped forward with an easy, charming smile. He extended his hand toward Cynthia, his demeanor calm and composed despite the uncomfortable moment.
"James," he introduced himself smoothly. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Cynthia. Bonnie has mentioned you a lot."
Bonnie shot him an exasperated look before turning back to Cynthia, mouthing a silent apology. But it was clear she was trying to avoid any further awkwardness. She forced a cheerful tone and added, "Cynthia, this is James, my... well, you know... family friend."
She furrowed her brow, thinking of the right words. Cynthia couldn't help but glance up at the man who had remained stoic all this time, only to find that he was staring at her as well. After a brief flash of surprise in his eyes, he began to examine her more intently.
She smiled at him politely, though he was watching her without restraint. Yet, from the look in his eyes, she could tell that he didn't have the same intentions as the other men. Even without Bonnie's introduction, she had already guessed his identity.
After exchanging a brief glance with the man, both of them turned their attention back to Bonnie. After a moment of deep thought, Bonnie suddenly clapped her hands and exclaimed loudly,
"Ah! Cynthia, I almost forgot to introduce you. Come, come! This is James Boston, the station director of LTC Television!"

Cynthia clearly saw the man's lips twitch slightly, and after a flash of irritation in his eyes when he looked at Bonnie, he returned to his usual composure. However, as soon as she heard that he was the director, her future boss, she quickly extended her hand toward him with respect.
"Hello, Director Boston. I'm the new producer, Kynthia Kynthia. I apologize for taking so long to report to the station!"
The man shot Bonnie a sharp glare before turning his attention back to Cynthia. He then politely reached out and shook her hand lightly, greeting her,
"Welcome, Miss Kynthia, to LTC Television! But...?"
James glanced at her with a meaningful look, as though he had just let out a sigh of relief.
At that moment, a cold grunt suddenly came from the side. The three of them turned at the same time and saw Albert walking over with a grim expression, clearly having overheard the mention of Cynthia's husband's surname.
Cynthia averted her eyes, pretending she hadn't seen his darkened face. Bonnie immediately pulled her along and said to the two men,
"Director Boston, Vice President, you two take your time. We'll head in first!"
With that, she dragged Cynthia into the hotel.
