Pokemon - A real story-Chapter 798: Graber

The Pokemon was over 8 feet tall. It was a huge, bipedal, dark blue-green mammalian Pokemon with a cream-colored face, belly, and feet. Its body was composed mostly of its belly, as its limbs were comparatively small. Its head was large with small, pointed ears, and two pointed teeth protruding from its lower jaw. It had round feet, which both had three claws and a circular brown paw pad, and short arms with five claws on each hand.

This was Snorlax.

Normally, Snorlax were only around 6 feet tall but this monstrosity was over 8 feet tall. A bigger body meant that it was special and very powerful compared to its normal counterparts.

Take Axel's Beedrill as an example. Normally, Beedrill was a species that was not considered to be strong but Axel's Beedrill was very big, and not only was it big but it was also very powerful and defensive.

Those 3 Ampharos were attacking at the same time and Snorlax was also not someone to be taken lightly. So, he had to make a choice. Which Pokemon should he focus on right now?

He first looked at the status page of Snorlax.

"Damn! I should get a Munchlax too.", said Axel to himself. But after thinking about it for a few seconds, he immediately took his words back. Training and sheltering a Snorlax was not a joke. When it ranks up and improves, its hunger and its capacity to eat would increase too.

A normal Snorlax would already be very hard to raise for a rich family. So a king-rank Snorlax was something not many people ever dared to think about.

Also, very few Snorlax would reach the king rank stage because they would need a lot of nutrients to rise up their ranks.

At first, Axel had thought to use Krishna and his pseudo-champion rank Blastoise to deal with Snorlax while he dealt with those 3 Ampharos but now he canceled the plan immediately.

He had not personally fought with a Snorlax till now but he had heard many stories of a powerful king-rank Snorlax. A powerful tier 3 king-rank Snolax might be more powerful than a normal pseudo-champion rank Pokemon.

And this Pokemon was something that pseudo-champion rank Blastoise could not handle.

First of all, Krishna's Blastoise was a defensive Pokemon that focused on a special attack with some good physical moves. A defensive battle against Snorlax was stupid cause that battle would never end and Snorlax would recover from time to time resulting in Blastoise's loss, and even if Snorlax went for the attacking mode, then the battle would be over very fast.

Only fast and flying type Pokemon would be ideal to deal with Snorlax. Several calculations came to his mind and finally, he decided how to deal with this thing.

"Beedrill and Magnus. You will deal with that tier 3 king-rank Ampharos. Mamoswine, Flappy, and Steelix, you guys will deal with those 2 tier 2 king-rank Pokemons. Other commanders will also help in dealing with those tier 2 king-rank Pokemons. Remember to separate those 3 and deal with each of them separately.

If all of them are in the same place and attacking at the same time, then we will not win this battle."

He didn't have time to look for the move descriptions of those 3 Ampharos in detail but just looking at the names of their new moves, he could determine that if 3 of them were to battle together, they would produce a synergy effect that might become very deadly.

"Finally, Krishna, use your Blastoise and I will use my Nidoking, Shedinja, Alakazam, and Venusaur to deal with this Snorlax. Krishna, let your Blastoise be the tank of this battle and tell it to make it busy for some seconds.", said Axel immediately.

Axel decided not to take any risk and used most of these powerful Pokemons in this fight. Venusaur was clearly for support while Shedinja, Nidoking, and Alakazam were to attack this Pokemon.

Axel needed some time to see its status page in detail, so he could make a plan to deal with this Pokemon.

Most of its moves were the moves that a normal Snorlax would know but the problem was that most of these moves complimented each other. Like 'Rest', 'Belly drum', and 'Sleep talk'. Or, 'Stockpile', 'Swallow', and 'Spit up'. It also knew moves like 'Screech', that would lower the defense of the enemy which could be very deadly as it was a physical attacker.

It also knew moves like 'Earthquake', 'Flamethrower', and 'Hyper beam' to give it breathing room if it ever needed one. Moves like 'Substitute' were perfect for it and it had a huge amount of health and stamina. Yet the most frustrating thing about this Pokemon was that it knew 5 new moves and one of them was a passive move which was in stage II.

Axel started to look at the move description of this Pokemon fearing that the new moves were not so powerful and broken.

Parry: The user has a higher chance to parry and block a physical attack taking only 50% of the damage.

Life sweep: If the user gets to hold the Pokemon in its arms and tighten it, the user can suck the health and life of the Pokemon slowly.

Mega Teleport: During the dire time, the user can use this move to teleport 100 km away from the battlefield. The move would take a few seconds to activate and can only use this once every 4 days.

Berserk mode: While in this mode, normal-type energy is spread around 30 30-meter radius. The user's health and stamina recovery rate will improve, the power of its physical moves will improve to a new height and it to easily manipulate all types of energy more fluently.

Axel stopped after reading the move description of this pre-domain move. All of its moves may not be so overpowered but it was very practical and these moves highly improved the battle powers of Snorlax.

The 'Berserk mode' was very broken. First, the move would improve the power of physical attack and the thing that shocked Axel was that Snorlax would easily manipulate another type of energy.

Didn't that mean that moves like 'Thunder punch', 'Fire punch', and 'Ice punch' was going to be even more powerful?

Finally, he looked at the move description of its passive move.

Stage I: The user can concentrate the power of all the muscles and bones of its body to a single point while attacking.

Stage II: The user's skin is highly sensitive and can detect the upcoming attacks that are coming towards it.

At first, Axel thought that the move 'Parry' was not so special. It only defended against physical moves and not special moves. But now with the second stage of 'Body manipulation', the effectiveness of 'Parry' had risen.

Axel came to the conclusion that physical moves against this Snorlax were useless.

Blastoise was dealing with Snorlax and Snorlax was actually winning the battle. It must be pointed out that Blastoise was a pseudo-champion rank Pokemon while Snorlax was only a tier 3 king rank Pokemon. How broken could this Pokemon be?

At first, Axel was scared of this Snorlax but after making a prompt plan on how to deal with this Pokemon, he started to get excited.

This might have been the first battle after a very long time that he could not be sure to win. For an odd reason, Axel was excited about this fight.

Just when Snorlax was ready to deal another 'Thunder punch' towards Blastoise, the ground under Snorlax trembled and Snorlax fell underground. After that Nidoking used the move 'Sludge wave' inside the whole that it had created and covered the whole with rocks and sand. This could easily be done as it was a ground-type Pokemon and then it used the move 'Earthquake' just above it.

BANG!!!

This was a powerful 'Earthquake' and with Nidoking's good mastery of it. Nidoking jumped again and it used the move 'Earthquake' again with full power. This could only be done as it had good mastery over the move. Even a powerful Snorlax would be affected by this move.

Axel didn't know if Snorlax was poisoned or not but it would be very rare not to be poisoned as it was inside underground filled with purple liquid of 'Sludge wave'.

"Meg, use your 'Substitute' and also use 'Sand construct'. Also if that Snorlax is poisoned, immediately use the move 'Poison spread' and then use the move 'Rest' to recover your health too.

This was a good strategy. Snorlax might not fall for it again but this had done some damage to Snorlax and if it was poisoned and if it could be poisoned throughout the battle, then the battle would be far easier as Nidoking knew the move 'Poison manipulation' to deal maximum damage to Snorlax.

Yet Axel had not expected the move to backfire cause it certainly did.

Suddenly the ground started to tremble and a huge 'Earthquake' occurred. Nidoking was in the vicinity of the 'Earthquake'.

"Light, use 'Teleport' to save 'Blastoise'", shouted Axel and Alakazam responded with a swift move and saved Blastoise.

Venusaur was far away from the battle and Shedinja was levitating, so it was not hurt by this 'Earthquake' but Nidoking was. Even though it was a ground-type Pokemon, the move was super effective against it, and the power of this 'Earthquake' was very high.

Nidoking was sleeping and even though the substitutes and the sand construct tried to help it, it was still affected by the move.

Of course, it woke up but now it was injured and the battle was not going as per Axel's plan.

Among all of his Pokemon, Nidoking was supposed to be the main attacker.

"Venusaur, heal Meg right now. Marcus, you are up. Dodge as much as you can and deal more damage. Remember, you cannot get hit by its attacks."

Even though Shedinja was immune to all of its attacks, the power of a single 'Thunder punch' would knock Shedinja out and it might be hurt by that impact. This was the risk that Axel was not going to take.

Snorlax came from the underground and it looked pissed. For the first time, Axel saw its eyes. It had red glowing eyes and it wanted to vent its anger.

Fortunately, it was poisoned. Now Snorlax had very good defense and health and it also knew the move 'Body manipulation'. It also knew the moves like 'Rest' and 'Stockpile'. So, he didn't know how much the poison's status would affect it but this was good progress.

Axel chose to save Blastoise instead of Nidoking due to 2 main reasons. First of all, Nidoking had a lot of healing-type moves and secondly, Blastoise was supposed to take the hits of Snorlax and it was already slightly injured from the battle.

"How am I going to win this battle?", mumbled Axel as a sigh came out of his mouth.
